It was an interesting idea, but I don't think it should've been something universal. The Babylon Rogues are alien genies or something, the Battle Kukku was just a empire of birds that wanted to conquer the world like Eggman. They're completely unrelated.
iirc Archie's Battle Bird Armada was more like an insular military-state, like Outer Heaven but with birdfolk. They even had their own Metal Gear.
They seemed more like a cult to me, as well as supremacist. They believed the sky belonged to birds and had plans that involved their connection to the Babylon Rogues lore that had them as an advanced species from space.
Not a big fan of merging the two concepts, especially since it resulted in almost every avian character in Archie to be tied with the Armada or the Babylon Rogues.

I like the idea of the Rogues being an offshoot of the Battle Kukku army, but- yeah, making "all" birds related to them seems like a really weird and restrictive design choice. Then again it's not like there are many birds in the Sonic setting, so I guess I see what they were going for.

Archie's Witchcart was so different from the original, Sega probably didn't even think of her as the same as their character. I don't think they'd have allowed her to be Naugus's sister if they did.
I believe that was pure Archie, she'll probably just be called Witchcart in the new story UNLESS they pull an Eggman/Robotnik and make the Wendy name canon.

70% of Belle’s screentime is angst about Eggman being her Dad. Whisper’s backstory is particularly bad, it’s like something out of a bad fanfic. Surge and Kitt have spent more time crying about their lack of past than doing actual villainy. Tangle is the only major OC who has no baggage.
