>thing thats real is easier to shoot than thing we just made up
No shit.
>Joker is real
>racism isn't
What did he mean by this?
probably this:
there are more (potential) jokers out there than actual (white) rascists
Isn't this common fricking sense? That's why it's so funny to have Joker threaten to expose Society
I assure you nobody needs to do anything besides show a picture of this garbage to get people to complain about it
It's already metastasized to an extreme level, you're not going to be very successful at finding comic books devoid of this crap. Especially if you try to do so blind
Yeah homophobia really is just made up, it's a cope to deflect valid criticism
Most people didn't give a frick about them before they started shoving it down everyone's throats and demanding our praise and acceptance, now they're wondering why people hate them
So which youtuber is inspiring you to keep remaking this thread because I have a guess.
Are you triggered?

Homophobia and racism are terms that cover an impossible expanse of scenarios, much like criminal activity. That's why superheroes were invented to fight personifications of these injustices, giving a sense of karma where little existed otherwise. Tasking these larger-than-life icons with 'solving' homophobia either requires a cartoon solution that completely removes nuance ["here's a ray-gun that kills the fear-of-other-sexualities gene, rainbow-caped Batman" "thanks Superman"] or asks them to punch fog so as to destroy it.
Stuff like OP happens when you take a square peg and try to force it into a round hole. Writers who pen 'hero who grimaces and monologues while punching funny clown' think they can solve the world's problems by scolding the people who don't read their material to begin with, even though they lack the life experience to comprehend the complexities of the problem and they lack the tools and vernacular to tackle comprehending to begin with, much less 'solving' it
Good point.
>the fear-of-other-sexualities gene
It's generally disgust rather than fear. "Phobia" refers to aversion in general, not just fear. And, as the current monkeypox situation shows, there are actual biologically-significant reasons for it, so there may actually be a genetic component that got there through conferring an evolutionary advantage.
>as the current monkeypox situation shows
If you're referring to gays, gay people only get monkeypox more often because they frick so much, not because the pox has some actual deterministic slant towards infecting gay people itself.
And? They're still the only demographic in the developed world with an R0 above 1.
Who the frick writes this shit?
This specific shit was written by this, ehh, person
A society works for the wellbeing of its members. We live in an antisociety.
i don't really care if a comic decides to tackle either of these issues but good god the writer really thought they were cooking up some witty dialogue here huh
Didn't you know? All you need to do is use some lefty buzzwords and then you transform into a frickin' genius.
Who the frick would actually pay money to read a comic book that preaches bullshit like this to you constantly.
We want big tiddies in spandex costumes, bad dudes getting punched in the face, and epic team ups/crossovers where heroes and villans butt heads over how to save the universe. Stop trying to make comics into something else.
You're my man. That's literally all I ask for instead I get this shit.
There's something so insidious about the uber rich talking about operation
*Oppression
Welp there goes my credibility
There was an issues where his brother addressed his rich privilege. But the OP panel is tone deaf and pointless because Harley will be in space to save the multiversus again. Harley is just to silly to focus on homphobia and racism.
So they just randomly being it up without even bothering to address it in the comic why
Yes.
Why, I think the creator is upset about mainline Harley mandates.
DC force the creator to break her up with Ivy in less than 2 issues because Harley can't be in a relationship with a villian.
I'm not sure why they are more strict her mainline comic. she should just quiet and work on someone else to be honest.
Jesus christ. And Harley's latest run was actually turning out to be kind of fun. Stupid, but fun. I really don't need some rich, smug-looking Black person preaching about racism in a comic book about a crazy clown girl.
we dont need them in comics period. if i wanna see a nog ill watch Cops or some prison show. maybe a rap video. its always some israelite ginger mongrel who shoves this garbage where it doesnt belong
No black man would actually say shit like this
He clearly wants to get into her pants.
Fine by me just read other comics lol
I laughed
It's a woke propaganda lecture from a gender studies graduate LARPing as capeshit.
Comics have always been political.
Political maybe, but at least their heroes weren't his pathetic or sophist
Poltically-motivated comics are at their best when they hold a magnifying glass to the dangers present, give practical helpful advice to avoid those dangers, but also show that some people don't want to be helped and those fights aren't worth picking. You won't see a lot of quality comics in that vein from Marvel or DC.
>Many modern writers walk on eggshells and are sensitive about portraying violence to get a point across, so an anti-drugs comic will shy away from the psychological and physical damage, an anti-homophobia comic will shy away from portraying attacks and the lingering after-effects of battered people stewing in the unfairness, anti-domestic violence comics will never look at violence from the angle of non-cis relationships
>Other writers will create schlock and edge imagery for the sake of edge
>Modern writers rarely have the life experience to give practical advice on medical aid, or seeking rehab, or supporting loved ones - those writers feel comfortable writing sweeping speeches about imagining a vaguely better world, like people who get off on the minor dopamine of writing a 'to do' list and settle for just that, rather than wanting to go through the chore of actually doing those things for the long-term satisfaction and quality-of-life improvement
>Modern writers are incentivised to keep picking fights for 'brand engagement' or 'user retention' or other things that basically incentivise short-term attention/sale spikes, and believe their vaguely-defined and often hypocritical or hole-riddled sense of justice is justification to keep picking these fights
Green Lantern & Green Arrow was effective as a political series because it did things that were unprecedented for the comics market, spotlighting gentrification, drug abuse and people you know [such as a sidekick] falling into a vicious cycle. Superman was effective as a political series because his stories spotlighted the grim lifestyle of the othered, the homeless, the minorities, the people in other countries - back when Superman was still a role model rather than the deconstructed, reconstructed, killed-and-brought-back-again, every-which-way-and-back character that people nowadays will scoff at. "Superman is boring, they should make him evil, then he'd be cool".
Political comics made today have two handicaps. People have decades and decades of cynicism behind them; and the shareholders/producers financing these comics have a financial incentive to make money off the 'novelty' of being a political/ethnical/sexual minority, an incentive that never existed in the 40's or 50's
And there's a difference between "Flaws of the system" and "You're a bigot if you don't agree", you edjit.
Yes, brainlet, you can find politics in anything.
In reality though, 99% of comics in existence are about a super hero saving the world from a super villain while juggling a secret identity and a love interest.
The past 8 years comics have been transforming into far-left identity politcs propaganda pamphlets, which is why the direct market comics industry is all but dead. Valiant is shutting down and not even paying their employees, and employees of other companies are doing the same, Marvel just cut the pay rates even further. It's fricking over, and with a massive recession hitting like a brick this fall, we will see a massive stampede in crowdfunding as a ton of pros will have no other choice.
It's just a delusion to think societal changes are easy, and more importantly quick.
But the wind still moves
