No it isn't. They just share an actor and director. No character crossover.
            There's a second novel though.

He's right. It's a "spiritual sequel" of sorts. Refn isn't the type to care about "character crossover"

                Anonymous

It's no kind of sequel and no one involved in production has ever said it was. It's not supposed to be Driver alive and with a kickboxing venue. No one thinks it is.

Yuck! Why? Florida is fricking disgusting. Go watch Burn Notice again if you have such a boner for Miami. Drive needs no improvement, but your suggestion is extra moronic.

How would that fit in with Drive? Apparently you just want a different movie. Drive wouldn't have benefited from beach bodies in the sun. That's a conflicting tone.

I would do anything for a proper Hotline Miami film but if it were made today half the cast would be blacks and trannies. The window for it to be made is closed

But that's okay, as long as Jacket is white then 99% of the cast can be black trannies, anon.

    >Kung Fury 2 still on hiatus
Retro nostalgia died out so it probably won't be released until the next wave.
Zoomers & Alphies moved on to Y2K/Frutiger Aero but that aesthetic doesn't have enough of an identity to base a full production on.
The best examples of the 2000s are probably Minority Report, A.I., Æon Flux, Equilibrium, anything with that glossy futuristic tech feel & bright oversaturated colors that inspired optimism instead of the soulless flat corporate designs we have now.

    There's a second book, Driven.
    >Seven years after the events of Drive, Driver is living in Phoenix under the name Paul West, engaged to be married. When two men attack him and his fiancée, leaving her dead, Driver seeks vengeance.
