But here's the thing... Now it would be a new version, it would have nothing to do with the original show, maybe just keeping some ideas and concepts

But not necessarily everything... For example, you wouldn't have to make Luz and Amity end up being a couple here, this time they could end up being good friends and that's it, focus on things that the original series never explored or did slightly

Come on, don't be so closed Anon

    The Other Owl House.

The story starts with Luz being whisked from a reform summer camp in the middle of the night by a magical owl staff up into a portal in the sky. She lands on the deck of a mighty Owl Ship under attack, as an exhausted witch at the helm declares herself the Owl Lady, and welcomes her to the Owl House... right as a bomb lands in between them and blows up the whole place.

Luz wakes up in a strange bone cube with Owlbert, Hooty on the front door, in the backstreets of the port town Latissa, where she discovers the Owl Lady has been declared dead, and her contraband seized. She navigates cops, crooks, and a minotaur with a chicken wing eating contest, until she finds her way back home and meets the other lodger in the cube. A Collector. Not, THE Collector, this one calls himself Prince, and claims he's the Prince Of Shadows. He met the Owl Lady when she was about Luz's age when he climbed out of a crack in the wall. He says she'll be back soon, assuming Luz can keep a low profile. The Owl Lady can help her get home/away/wherever she needs to be. So, she waits.

There's a couple adventures here, it establishes the setting is much more technological than the original story. Lots of manufactured bone buildings and metal bolts, with tools, powered by glyphs. Luz doesn't then try to learn magic by copying the mechanics. She just uses the witchcraft tools in interesting ways sometimes. A Fire Glyph Chainsaw for Searing through Bonecraft. An Ice Handle that she modifies to use as a way to climb up or down walls. An extending vine whip. A flashlight.

No this Luz's magic, comes from Prince, our Collector. When facing a student of Glandus challenging her new friends from there, Luz gets set to a duel for the house and asks Prince to teach her the magic he alluded to. Human magic is limited as our bodies are not built for the infinite well of potential that a bile sac provides, so Luz has to create and then build wells of magic within her body.

This isn't like body horror though, it's about meditation and directing the energy to a specific point along the spine that mirror chakra. They total in seven for humans, and each spell has to be of what most witches and wizards would consider the range of a coven. Her Potions Well, is the spell Recall, which, being unprepared, she uses on the bully and nearly kills him after exploding into a fiery wild magic construct of every spell cast by Owlbert before. Luckily, Coven Elder Mason dispatches Luz, as the constant barrage of life Owlbert's witnessed dispenses, leaving one last conscious acknowledgement of a moment, putting on a ring.

She wakes again, this time bound to a metal chair, interviewed by Inquistor Raine of the Witchhunters, The Empire's elite wild magic containment forces. They ask Luz where she came from, all the while plumbing through her memories. We learn she got in a fight at school, and broke a girl's nose, so she was sent to the reform camp. We also learn she knows nothing about the Owl Lady, or how her magic awakened. This surprises Luz, since she remembers talking with Prince and meditating it with him. Eventually the assumption that all the magical food she's eaten has altered her body on accident. Of course, this is just Raine deciding to let her go and monitor her from afar.

Luz's magical potential means she's now bound to go to Glandus as a magical student, since magically attuned people past 10 have to go to magical school to prepare for their role in covens and society. She now attends with her friend in potions, a young squat black demon named Jordan, an Illusionist Puppeteer named Raja, and a two-headed demon named Cassie and Paul. Also before the inquistion she meets a Phillip Wittebane Grimwalker at her age, and you're supposed to notice that's him it's okay, but like no one's pointing it out or doing anything, so it's a little Chekov's Gun of the first season we set up a bit earlier and I forgot to mention.

So like the whole second part of that first third of the first season is adjusting to school and church and magic rules as she's secretly unlocking the other wells in time, Booker and Luz fight together against a giant Medusa Head as a parallel to the bat Queen, and they're seemingly getting set up and then we get the third piece of the love triangle because frick you I know what you actually need to do with love triangles and the third side is Melody.

She actually goes to the Glandus Vs. Hexside Grudgby match, but now with all the tech it's all Tech Quidditch'd up, and so they're riding on robot staffs, like Tech Palisman, and Melody's super rich so she got two, a monkey she can turned and a six legged horse she rides into battle standing and rocking out on, freezing people with her bard magic waves and Luz is like 'I want her to sit on my face' and Booker's just, kind of chopped liver at first.

Grudgby's this whole thing for the school, and we return a few episodes to watch more games of it with the other schools on the isles, give names to those ones in the Eda/Raine flashback, meanwhile frens are getting stronger with magic, Booker's got a Palisman now, a little beetle called Pudding who works as a staff or a flashlight. It seems to want to make him stay with Luz, though later it's generally about making him get exposed to anything about earth, namely where he came from. So Groancoming comes around, Luz and Booker go together, he then gets captured by Empire Forces, idk why Raine didn't earlier I'll think it out later, but basically he's supposed to be locked away in the Imperial Castle at the Heart of the Empire. Then after that she and Jordan fight and it gets Jordan kicked out, I was thinking like a midterms that explains what happened to Gus, or something else, Raja goes home to a nation on the other side of the world, and then... the Owl Lady returns.

By now Luz also has a bunch of different wells. Illusion for like a Shadow Jutsu Clone Barrage like thing, Construction just basic super strength, and Healing to quickly reset limbs or repair damage, to help with all the anime shit she does trying to keep up with Witches. She's become more independent, and useful and the Owl Lady decides to take her as her apprentice. They spend, maybe one odd episode together, until Luz enters The Race. The Owl Lady's meeting with an important client and needs Owlbert for it, and Luz has to provide it to her during the race (she's also got a new red-gemmed tech staff who's devoted to her, important later, and gets her doing more stuff for the team involving Palismans, idk haven't flushed this out), and then drop out. But FRIENDS, REASONS, HAVENT REALLY THOUGHT OF THE WHY Luz doesn't do that and wins the race with the two together, but then the explosions of a powerful wild magic spell makes Owlbert pull to the storm, seeing coven soldiers and trees sucked into a mass. And far past the carnage, someone who looks a lot like Lilith doing something that looks a lot like a Pain Share spell, cancelling the Requiem and sending the mass of wild magic into a black goopy pulp that splats before Luz. And she confesses everything.

As she's taken away by the Conformatorium, Booker's broken out of the Castle with Pudding, and now he's taking him to see this hidden cave far below the Castle. He find big tubes holding broken corpses and fragments of the same man, brown hair and tattered sludge clothes. VI. IV. and the far off in the center, this one sludge titled PHILLIP WITTEBANE and it lunges at Booker, cracking the tube. As he's running away from all the other 'corpses' coming to life, a little sliver of sludge catches on his boot, as he races back to the Castle.

Luz goes the bottom of the Conformatorium, since in this timeline, the Owl Lady is a genuine anarchist menace, blowing up highways and trashing churches, her magic is regarded as dangerous, so Luz is equally so. She ends up locked away, and then, a voice through the walls speaks to her. Another prisoner, who was locked away for defying the Empire, who needs her help escaping, if she can. She doesn't know how but finds herself being escorted out of jail by a new guard. When this guard is confronted, he quickly removes his disguise to be a masked man who rips pipes out of the wall to open them, and get splashed with sewage. He tries again, pulling out the Abomination Goo he had snuck through the toiletries, and takes off his mask, revealing him The Owl Lady's Husband; The Rat King, Alador Clawthorne.

He makes work of the guards, and tells Luz he's here to help her escape, but she asks him to help free the prisoner she heard. They go down lower, and find, the Titan. An older titan than King, not quite like King's father in maturity, but also emaciated. All the Witchcraft of the Isles, all the code of his glyphs, is powered by long-term batteries of his blood, drained regularly from him for, presumbly the 200 years since The Prophet Belos blessed the empire with Witchcraft. She helps him escape, since the Empire has more than enough blood to carry on for half a century at least, and this is now just keeping the Titan weak to not challenge him.

There's this big breakout, the Titan eats Warden Wrath, fricking devours him like Godzilla, and then they convince Alador to go to the Castle and free Booker and take down Belos all in one.

Booker's returned to the castle and wrecking stuff for them. He confronts the Prophet on his throne, what am I. Then it's fake, and oh it's a Puppet and there's this Puppet Belos fight and then he goes into a room to meet the Real Belos, and we don't see what happens there yet.

Luz goes to the Castle, Alador and the Titan do their own stuff, and Luz tries to get into Booker's quarters, but is stopped by an older woman in strange garments like gears and fangs, a mask on her face, with a little Amity bob on her head. We get this talk about choices and consequences, and what matters being moments, meaning that this woman needs Luz to not be allowed to go find Booker for exactly six minutes. When Luz fights her, her magic is impeccable and unstoppable. And then the six minutes are up and the lady lets her go. We also finally get a drop from background hints about Luz's name where Luz's last name is Segura, not Noceda. (Lots of Luz S. everywhere, a ketchup stain misdirects to be like Luz's, fun like that). She ignores knowing it and runs off to find Booker. She finds him in a big room with a Portal Door, except this one is different, collector-like Booker's ccompanied by Coven Guards, and runs to meet Luz, just as the Titan breaks through, and fires off one of those ring blasts, making the portal suck Luz, Booker and the Titan through the warping portal door. The Titan is flung far away, Booker and Luz try to hold hands but are lost in the surge, and Luz wakes up, in a human park, overcast skies. But this is not Gravesfield.

This is Brooklyn. This is the parks of Castle Hill. She wanders through them, dazed a bit, still holding Owlbert, and makes her way to a house on a secluded road. Number 8, and she turns the number to look like eyes she pokes with fingers. She takes a key from her pocket, and opens the door. The house is a mess, but she's home. And down comes Ma, the Ma she'd been so mad at sending her away, the Ma we never got many details on... Manuel Segura, Luz's father.

Bunch of exposition drops through references in the conversation. He got over his sickness, they never left NYC, 'Cammy' overworked herself paying it of, and one day, she jumped in front of a subway train and killed herself. Out of the blue, just, gone.

And she's just dumping all this OH I DIDN"T NEED YOU and YOU PUSHED US AWAY and it's NOT the comfy Noceda house of the og show, and Luz turns to leave, and the Sun's out so she IMMEDIATELY TURNS into this Flesh form until she morphs herself to normal in a shaded spot. And her father watches this mass shift thing and is like what the FRICK. So she's running, and popping out cronenburg morphs and shit and shifting back in the shade ,and eventually crawls back to the park she was dropped at, and finds a doorway with the Prophet Belos standing before her. Before Manuel can catch up. She's gone.

Just before we wrap up, we also get a glimpse of things to come. Jaguar Men playing Grudgby in a MASSIVE stadium, these upside down Ming Dynasty looking Spider Demons that Raja's presenting a whole file about Luz on, and eventually, we find Booker, waking up in a fresh grave. He walks out with Pudding, and a headache, from the fog and finds in front of him a sign for a town called Gravesfield, Connecticut.

                END OF BOOK ONE

Book 2 starts with Jordan slumming it in the wild, where she doesn't get bother by the Empire for using her magic, meeting Gwendolyn and being convinced to go to Hexside instead, even if it's not 'The Best'. She meets a bunch of students, and makes friends with the one-eyed goat and that hispanic chick from the Human Appreciation Society. Willow makes an appearance at the end and she's like the best of the school and everyone loves her and yes it's supposed to be suspsicious.

Then we get some proper Melody storytime, so far her and the Grudgby crew have just been super popular glandus people we never talk to, but now her, Ukla, the other two in that one shot from the Grudgby Episode that I haven't got names for, and Melody are talking about getting selected, to represent the isles in a big world grudgby tournament, accompanied by the Empire's Golden Guard.

Third episode has Booker's story pick up where he's taken in by a pair of food truckers who are two Haitians we later learn knew Manuel in college and had a band with him and two others, but you don't know that until later and it's kind of minor to the plot stuff but this is where Booker starts learning about who Phillip Wittebane was. In this timeline, there's no statue, the historical society only mentions two boys whisked away by a witch in a fire. Apparently, in this timeline Phillip never stayed in Gravesfield for long. And then the sludge starts talking to Booker and filling in the blank with flashbacks and revealing yes, Pudding was Phillip's Palisman, made when Flapjack was made, by Evelyn. Booker wants to know more, this shard of Phillip consciousness gets more bold, things are setting up here.

Finally we get back to Luz, and she's in Belos's care. He tells her he's the leader of the Church of the Empire, and is looking to lead the people under his watch to Earth, to be with their spiritual brothers, since the Church of the Empire's just Christianity with Mods and some loopholes. He wants to bring salvation to Demons and a place in the peaceful world of Earth, free of the boiling oceans and magical weathers of punishment. He believes the Demon Realm to be Hell, and them to be led out of it with faith and magic. He commissions Luz on a set of tasks to repay him saving her and pardoning her, and giving her lodging at the Castle. Inside she's reuinted with Hooty, and hidden under her pillow is Prince's disc. She is made the newest Golden Guard, and finally becomes a direct acquaintance of the Grudgby Team she's idolized.

The story's kind of loose here, her making well-to-do with the Coven Heads that she can train under, the Grudgby team, they travel places, like Demon Tenochitlan (magicians there did a whole world swap and brought the kingdom to the demon realm to escape conquistadors, and they don't like humans), Demon Japan...

Meanwhile we jump back to Booker at times. He finds the recovering Titan in the woods, the Titan spits out some palisman the Gravesfield High friends Booker's made get to use, like that Cheerleader Luz was trying to impress in the OG show gets a worm Palisman, and the asian quarterback guy from season 3's got a more bulky beetle mode, and Booker's connecting more with the Phillip memories as they get more conscious, and realizing its harder to get control back each time, but he's able to make Pudding morph into like a Katana and a shield and stuff. We meet that Sleeping Prince in the woods from the pilot, now on Earth, Booker kisses him awake and he's sent to this land to fight against an upcoming terrible threat as the Kingdom of France's finest warrior.

The Owl Beast returns from that sludge in the woods, and Luz fights it, Gavin's there too I think, maybe Darius's son, and in one moment of the fight, The Owl Lady's face pops out of the sludge, seemingly unaware of what's going on outside, before looking back to speak to someone and sinking into the muck again. Luz contains it, and it's trapped in the woods under lock and key as this writhing mass of wild magic. The face is regarded as a trick and left to Chekov's Gun.

So meanwhile, Luz is getting more wells unlocked, Somewhere in this, Luz and Jordan team up to stop Willow who's been mind controling the school with plant powers.a big screech power, these pollen things, and eventually big mass shifting punches. And meanwhile she's working with Scooter Crane, who later reveals he's part of a mission to stop Belos's true mission, which is to use the magical tools she's collected, (parts for a grimwalker) to fuse the Boiling Isles people to the corpse of the titan and relight the flaming rotbeast that is the Titan's true form. Luz escapes, gets this team Magma looking rebellion uniform. I'm missing a lot of side shit too so next I'm gonna greentext bulletpoint it for the big event.

                >Prince only knows he's a Collector, found by Edalyn when she was the Golden Guard, as a kid, and asks Luz to help him get out of the discs
                >The Empire's been planning to go to Earth for a while, and is meeting with church heads in secret, and being watched by the US government
                >Willow goes to Earth to help this government organization, led by Jacob Hopkins, who theorizes the portal is a gateway to Mars from the past, and has working tools energized by a Titan's tooth (Witches are real, and they're all from Mars sent to Earth to harvest our teeth to power their time machine, :^) )
                >Booker makes a truce with the Phillip parts to not absorb him until he's an adult, so they have this hulking mass up until the end of this timeskip part
                >Luz and Melody get together, she goes on a pilgrimage with Raja before running away in that timeskip with Melody

Day of Unity happens, the Castle has moved and the followers are going to Earth at the next eclipse. Luz and co. move in to stop Belos, but Luz is brought by Belos to a set of time pools. Apparently, they moved the castle to be in line with them in the sky. Belos shoves her in and I don't have all this down, but a couple things happen
                >she's the one who cast the pain share spell at the Requiem
                >we get this mindscape jumble where Eda and Luz and Darius and other intangibles try to vie for existence, before Eda send Darius, Raine and Luz back sacrificing herself to repent for killing Lilith as a kif or something, setting off this anarchist shit
                and
                >Luz gets involved in Phillip's life as to give him the tools to live on past his hanging, and become that OG Belos from the Mind episode. Instead of leaving that first coven to freeze, the Golden Guard he'd made refuses to go along, and Belos nearly kills him before Luz swoops in and saves them
                >this Golden Guard becomes the Belos we know, and keeps the coven alive by making a religion on the fly, while keeping Luz trapped in ice or something

Meanwhile, the Titan's gotten captured, but it uses Body Swap magic to try and break out, Booker's doing a school play, the Churches are waiting for the demons and witches to arrive, and then the titan finds a Collector Disc, connected to Prince's Prison Chamber, and I think like something happened with him and Luz and they're not talking while she's going through the time pools, like she thinks he helped Phillip or something, not fleshed out, but he gets out and gives the Titan a lot of energy, and that makes him grow into that ultimate flaming bone form that obliterates Manhattan. THIS time the big god monster's on EARTH not the Demon Realm.

So everyone's in a panic, Luz is MIA the Rebellion's repenting in the Demon Realm and running from this Bat Beast Luz has become, Booker's fighting off those weird bone flesh guards that are the Titan's spawns from his cells, that seek to destroy anything magic. Raja's in repentance, Jordan fricked up and is still in the Demon Realm, and the masked lady's watching the chaos, and takes off her mask, revealing herself to be Odalia Blight, and Raine her husband. Also there's a shadow that looks like Luz there, who's secretly this otherly thing that came knocking on the Demon Realm when Luz went through too many Time Pools and Doors and got noticed in the Inbetween.

Luz meanwhile is in a psych ward. And her counselour, is Amity. Or, some sort of older Amity who seems to keep trying to make her accept the ward's not real and she needs to fight, and we later realize, this is the tech staff, brimming with magical energy, swirling in her magical aura. They get untangled, Luz forgives herself for eating people or something, and gets that Beta Mode with a Bat. She reunites with Prince... and then the two are pulled out of reality by the Collectors. Just ripped out of the story and leaving the world this timelocked thing.

They've summoned her and Prince to court as the progenitors of their destruction, and that what they choose to do affects the Collectors, Earth and the Demon Realm. Manuel and Odalia, later with Jordan, and Cassie/Paul, travel far north to the icy breathless north pole of the Demon Realm, where Santa Claus lives. They fight him for access to a technology of a gateway, like an alchemical exchange gateway. Things go in, something new comes out. Shadow thing wants to use it to break through, Odalia's been making Wickerman over the continents to collect 108 vials of collected magic from them, to power the device. It's almost perfect, but at the last second before Odalia tries to go in and merge with it for some destiny, the tech staff goes in, and out comes this red energy Amity with a little black crack in the middle, who immediately obliterates Odalia, leaving only a ghost to return later.

This Ur-Amity takes Luz on this infatuate journey across the worlds, subjugating and cocooning the Titan, revealing herself scattered across Luz's timeline to justify her existence in the realm, all the while the Collectors are pulling her out to talk about shit, Luz is getting more enraptured by this slowly blackening Amity, before realizing she can go back in her own time and save her mom. She does, she tries, and it seemingly stops her jumping, just as Ur-Amity pushes Cammy in front of the train, rejustifying, or maybe always being the justification, for her own existence. This Amity creation killed Luz's mother so they'd meet and be together.

Luz is all IT WAS YOUUUUU rage beast and Ur-Amity's all lost to this mission now, as clearly what came out the portal was partly this hellthing that's growing inside and it leads to this big final battle, Luz and Jordan rekindle friendship maybe they're lovers now, Booker and Melody start pairing too, and it's implied they'll poly maybe idk

And like they stop the moon crashing to Earth and beat out the connection of the Inbetween Thing on a shattered moon, before GhostOdalia takes over this ultimate construct and uses it to go around cartoonishly blowing people out of existence. Alador, Luz's friends, Raine, eventually even Prince and then Luz herself. The Collectors watching Luz here then reveal they're all in the Inbetween. This THING killed them after they were weaker in the fight with the Titans, lot of lore shit I haven't hammered down, but they agree to roll back time enough to give Luz this super Collector Form to fight Ur-Odalia.

And she's like this cosmic nun with a big cosmic ruler bat she uses to beat Ur-Odalia around the solar system before separating her from the machine she crashes into the sun, and Odalia's ghost is stomped out by Raine, Prince and Alador. They then get everyone out of this collapsing universe on big arks and get everyone to the Demon Realm and then Prince uses his magic to remake Earth, and now the worlds are irrevocably connected. Luz never goes back to school, getting her GED like Booker, saying one last solemn goodbye to her loving tech staff, the world's connected, Titan leaves to find his people, la di da the end.

So all of that's been just stirring in my ADHD/Autism brain all the time and I never write it down anywhere at least not fully like this and I'm missing shit I'm sure but I was high enough to stream of consciousness it out here today. I'm afraid that when I lay things out to people I lose interest in it, but I just started typing and couldn't stop. I want to learn to draw well enough to make it a proper thing but I never focus enough to do it, or really write much of this down.

Kind of feels good to type it all out without just forcing it on someone. Thanks OP.

      I'm really liking your version

I would change every detail to be under my specifications. It would take 500 pages.

Every episode is a different timeline where Belos is, instead of an early colonial English Puritan, from a different colonial power of the same period, and Luz travels between these timelines

    >Pilot is normal Angloid Belos successfully genociding the witches, forcing timeline-hopping shenanigans to occur somehow
    >Second episode: Belos is a Spaniard, he's already won by impregnating the entire female population of the Isles singlehandedly
    >Third Episode: Belos is a Dutchman, and the Isles are now a giant work camp. Any resident that doesn't meet a strict productivity quota has their hands chopped off
    >Fourth Episode: Chinese Belos has instituted an unnecessarily complex bureaucracy on the Isles, which falls apart when a minor disagreement leads to a massive civil war where 80% of the population is cannibalized

I can't be bothered to think up any more gags for this inane half-shitpost half-concept but the last episode would be Luz getting killed by Shogun Berosu or something for being a foreigner

My reboot would be a fourth season of Owl House, it would retcon the events of the third season. Season 4 would see Amity on earth getting dicked down by a fat guy with hairy balls every episode.

Probably up the tragedy of Phil and make the BI actually suck when he gets there. Also make his goal ultimately just to go home. That would be the real reason why he’s after Eda and Luz in this version while the coven dodging and hedge magic is just a front. His death would pretty much be the same as that one comic.

i would split it off into two shows with different protagonists. one has the lgbt love drama in goth-fantasyland, and the other stars proto-luz and goes all out on the weird horror shit in the concept art.

    also more lilith.

Maybe keep it to the first and second episode premise?
Luz does random odd jobs for Eda in exchange for teaching her magic. But all the odd jobs are low class illegal crap because Eda is a grifting, thieving, petty criminal.

Daily episodes would be whatever task Eda sends Luz to go do, she discovers it's some scam, and tries to do better. Or she runs into some new person in the course of the task of the day and has an adventure or learns something new. Eventually Luz gets Eda to be a better person.
