If you kill them you will be just like them is some neoliberal bullshit.

If you kill them you will be just like them is some neoliberal bullshit. Batman is responsible for the death of everyone the Joker has killed since the first time he could have killed Joker, knowing he'd escape and do it again.

Why the frick are Spiderman and Daredevil always included in this bullshit. Everywhere that isn't a shitty Punisherwank story they just don't have those utterly absolute nokill rules

Blame Slott for pushing it so often as a shitty idea of his for Spider-Man and blame Sony/Disney for making it a mandate for the movies (which more than likely has trickle-down effects)

Yes they do spidermanbaby. That’s the entire fricking reason Kingpin shot Aunt May to death and didn’t even get arrested for it.
That’s the entire reason the only death norman had ever gotten in history was him stabbing himself with his own glider.
That’s the entire reason peter has always blubbers and cries like a baby b***h whenever ANYONE tries to kill.
The only exception to your bullshit fake optics about “n-n-nooo muh self-insert petuww is a edgy killer I swear!!” was peter handing a bag of pumpkin bombs back to norman after he threw them at him, which need I remind you Norman had been throwing them directly at peter and others that entire story without a single one being strong enough to even hurt them at all, and the explosion didn’t even hurt norman it just disabled his hlider and he was laughing out loud the entire way down when the glider sank, and of course he lived because nothing about anytjing in that scene even implied those weak-ass fireworks were deadly.

Like Jesus Christ at least batgays accept that the kill rule has always been an inherent part of his weiting, petercels are just delusional in-denial self inserters who don’t even know reality.

Batman' no kill rule wouldn't be such a problem if they hadn't made all his villain's mass murderers.

Basically. His rule makes sense only when the people he's fighting aren't violent psychopaths.

I don't think Superman should kill people because he is basically a God and I don't think Gods should kill mortals. But Batman is just as mortal as the Joker, he should.

It's just got to me lately, with Steven Universe popping up again for some reasonn. Like he SHOULD have killed White Diamond. He had no way to know things would work out well. He was gambling the human species of the power of love.

Anon he had absolutely no way to kill White Diamond. White Diamond effortlessly no-sold everything he and the Crystal Gems had and defeated them all without any effort, and the *only* thing that let him "win" was an emotional connection she had with Pink.
You can easily see in the movie and last episodes of the series how he is incredibly uncomfortable in every non-hostile interaction with Blue, Yellow and White but he flat out can't do shit to them. The best he can do is try to use his connection to make them less awful and repair the shit they destroyed but he knows they're still beyond reproach and that they could at any moment go back to being cosmic imperialists and slavers and there would be literally nothing he could do to stop them

Damn if only he knew someone who could make a weapon that could shatter a diamond. Oh well I guess we'll never know

There is literally not a single thing about the Breaking Point or any of Bismuth's shit that could kill a diamond. I'm half convinced Rose poofed her because they were going to be an active detriment to the rebellion by pushing moronic and impractical ideas for their revenge boner
Yeah sure it can shatter a gem in one hit. So can a HAMMER, and it doesn't saddle you with a shit weapon. Besides, the problem is GETTING TO THE GEM

if a story says that something would work, until proven otherwise by the events of hte story, it would work. That's how narrative works.

Bismuth's weapon was literally never established to be a Diamond killer. It's just the fricking Stake Driver, she explicitly wanted to outfit the rebel gem soldiers with it so they would deliver killing blows to enemy gems without having to poof them. At absolutely no point it was thought as a means to kill White Diamond and there is no reason to ever think it would be able to achieve that. Frick is Steven going to do, hold the BP behind his back and whistle innocently while climbing a set of stairs that leads to WD's forehead?

What makes you think that the Breaking Point WOULDN'T kill a diamond and please justify it with in universe example

That's funny considering his first handful of villains absolutely WERE mass murderers and guess what happened: Batman killed them - with guns in a couple examples (and in the case of The Joker, he was brought back at the end of his issue), as Finger and Kane took inspiration from The Shadow in this regard.

I'd love if people started making superhero stories like the hero pulps: introduce a villain every issue and then kill them off by the end of it.

I actually like it when there's a couple of ground rules between the hero and the villian where the villain agrees not to go on a genocide run and the hero agrees not to go try killing them so their fights are more a game of honor and wit.makes the whole no kill rule actually work.

The problem with "superheroes shouldn't kill" stems from the Comics Code Authority and the effects of it lasting in the decades since it was disbanded. A lot of children who grew up to work in the industry internalized "superheroes shouldn't kill", even when they became adults and knew better. It also didn't help that capeshit censorship never really went away, it just got slapped on to media like cartoons and TV as a whole.

If you ever get around to reading the hero pulps that superhero comic books pulled so much inspiration from, you'd be surprised to see the body counts that The Shadow, The Spider, Doc Savage, and other heroes rack up.

Nowadays, the reason why "heroes don't kill" is more rooted in wanting to keep villains around for the sake of merchandising. If Joker dies, then you can't exactly sell more merch with him (unless you bring him back, and that creates a new can of worms to then be inevitably opened)

Batman is not really the one in the wrong; its Gotham's justice system who keeps trying to rehabilitate the villains instead of sentencing them to death already.

no anon you don't understand, Batman should have the burden of judge and executioner because I don't want to put the blame on the actual authorities
no one but Batman should be responsible for the safety of gotham!
