He's no black superhero. He's a racist replacement of a white one by people openly refusing to come up with anything on their own under a belief that other people's creations are theirs to take. It's a prime example of what Doomwiener calls "cultural vandalism."

      For me personally
      >Starts act 1 with Gwen with a very boring style of universe
      >Audio mixed so poorly and muddily this entire sequence makes me feel like I'm losing my hearing
      >Introduction of the universe squad sucks, way too whimsical and off-putting after the "muh life suxxx, my dad hates my superhero identity :((" intro
      >pregnant black woman on a motorcycle = yes, this should be one of the 5 Spidermen we see most in this movie, and we need to make sure she has no notable powers
From there, the film only gets messier. The movie can't decide if it's about Gwen, Miles' commitment to family, Miles "doing his own thing", or Miles grappling with his actions using consequences. It does them all, each for less time than is needed to explore the ideas fully, and then tries to conclude them all despite this movie being "part 1".
The pace is fricked, and I urge anybody who disagrees with me to watch it again, as I've found 100% success with every friend who disagrees with me doing a complete 180 the instant they complete a second viewing.
Make the black motorcycle lady someone who ISN'T a Spider-Man. That could have been way more interesting, imagine if some iteration of doc Ock tagged along with the spiders because he gets the concept of preserving the multiverse. Bonus points if he's the Ock from the universe Miguel accidentally destroyed, kept around as a constant reminder of what happens if order is not kept.
Too many storylines, improper use of time. Feels like they got hit by deadlines and truncated the film, kicking the can to the third one to clean up whatever is left. And when it comes out, all the soeiboeis will scream how clever a sequel is by finishing storylines shit out in previous installments.
      Very underwhelming.

        >Watercolors reflecting the character's emotional state is "boring"
        >Bitches about a perceived audio error
        >Too emotionally affected by a basic Spider-Man backstory to be able to enjoy a cool action sequence.
Did you cry over the other Spider-Man movies too?
I'll grant you that the pregnant Spider-Man was kinda stupid, but it's the kind of gay detail autists like you b***h and moan for the sake of b***hing and moaning.
        >and we need to make sure she has no notable powers
The whole point is that Spider-Man's baseline deal is pretty derivative since there's an infinite number of them.
        >yes, this should be one of the 5 Spidermen we see most in this movie
        >Gwen's mentor who went through the same thing she does should not be in the movie.
        moron.
        >The movie can't decide if it's about Gwen, Miles' commitment to family, Miles "doing his own thing", or Miles grappling with his actions using consequences.
It's a 2+ hour movie grappling two very basic story beats and a sequel. I don't get how you're saying that two hours is not enough.
        >Make the black motorcycle lady someone who ISN'T a Spider-Man.
        >Do Doc Ock again like in the first movie instead.
The Multiverse canon thing is supposed to be a secret among select Spider-Men, it's fricking stupid to bring in a random villain who is also there for no real reason.
        >Feels like they got hit by deadlines and truncated the film
        Probably
        >Too many storylines
There's two at best, if you count the two main characters.
I went in with zero expectations and I found it to be fine, I might even go see the sequel if it ever comes out.

What was it about this movie that felt like it a downgrade visually from the first one aside from the spot? It looked like a ps2 render at times...genuinely off, it didn't help that a lot of the character designs were ugly and cluttered. It feels like the result of having too many artists trying too hard to make these designs stand out and look "unique".
