It feels like they still have the burden of history upon their shoulders. But they're very respectful and friendly overall. They will banter a bit and make jokes about your country, especially if you're French, German or American, and will usually invite to get hammered with them. Poles are a bit more of the depressed kind, and I suspect germanic influence is at the root of it. Slavs in their natural state are very gregarious.
