I think the hard core of people who appreciate Tolkien's work don't give a single shit about this knowing very well what these homosexual corporations are up to.
Sure, but this is made for the new generation of Tolkien fans, the ones yet to be introduced to his work. Just like the movies were made for millenials and few of them know anything except the movies, and the books were for boomers/gen x. Each subsequent adaptation distorted what Tolkiens work is all about, in a way it's safe to call it a misrepresentation, or even a corruption of his work.

Same answer as always - they realize no one would care about their OC shit. It's much easier to ride the coattails of something else and ruin it in the process. That's the sort of "creative people" this industry has now.
