L is British, you fricking moron
I'm not talking about whats accurate to the story I'm talking about in the adaptation
L is canonically 3/4 white though - therefore white.
Apart from his group of autists and servant, everyone else is pretty much Asian.
Whites are deluded
Posting plastic faces doesnt change the fact that all of you have mongoloid noses, chink.
White fragility
>That's the only nose shape that the white people have.
>That's the only nose shape that the insectoids have.
some Japanese ppl have longer noses
you think that's a normal looking white woman? you think white people never have features like that, and asian women never have features like the white woman?
weird cope you third world mongoloid
White fragility is hilarious. It's more hilarious that you actually believe anime is based on white people.
>no no you don't get it, we really are anime even though the overwhelming majority of anime characters are canonically Japanese and have Asian features
>posts seethes at whites
>gets roasted
>haha ur all fragile!
Except a lot of anime has White protagonists. Almost everyone in Attack on Titan is White (Mikasa is an "oriental" and one of the last ones the people behind the walls are aware of), the MC of Cowboy Bebop is White, there are plenty of White characters in the Gundam shows. I don't know too much about anime yet, but I'm sure that there are tons of examples. It's stupid to pretend that this isn't the case. Keep gaslighting, maybe someone will believe you someday.
>jap woman isn't even looking straight ahead trying to hide her flat face
it's so funny once you know what they are insecure about
stop being so mean guys this isn't a fight I think both of them are pretty
>conventional profile shot
>REEE SHES INSECURE LOOK
Unironic white insecurity and fragility
>Unironic white insecurity and fragility
that's not a profile shot you absolute brainlet
why would whites be insecure and fragile about some random jap not beling flat faced like the other 99.9% of them
it's more like you are a genuine schizo
Yep white mediocrity is showing. You are literally akin to white roasties seething online bout Asian beauties. Hilarious
Asians follow western (white) beauty standards. You're posting a woman who is literally trying to be white
Whites don't even follow white beauty standards anymore.
Whites may not, but asians still do
>actually... We are beauty itself! If you are beautiful then you must be trying to be white
Hilarious white mediocrity
I didn't say that. There are beauty standards for each race and asians have decided whites are the ones they want to emulate
Hilarious white delusion
Not sure the point of that image. You found one Asian guy with a wide nose to conclude that anime characters can't be Asian? Hilariously stupid delusion. Actually entering the schizophrenia realm
Did you miss the arrows pointing towards The light colored eyes and hair… and smaller lips… and lower brow….
meds are needed. TAKE YOUR MEDS!!!
>AAAAAAA I AM ANIME I AM ANIME
Anime is asian minus the ugly
Weebs are more deluded
There should be no live action adaptations of anime ever and especially not by Netflix because they just don't have the talent to make their own stuff, it's always shit.
L is literally a Brit
it doesn't matter if the adaptation is taking place in America most of characters races are gonna be changed anyway so
This might come as a shock to you, but being Brit isn’t a race, and there’s actually many Asians in Britain
>This might come as a shock to you, but being Brit isn’t a race, and there’s actually many Asians in Britain
>there are white people living in japan that's why there are blond anime characters
that's how dumb you sound
When someone in japan says a character is british they mean they're white. They still draw american characters with blond hair and blue eyes because that's the expectation.
Lol yh. Within anime many characters are clearly Japanese, many are clearly of another race entirely but a lot are ambiguous. To me at least any character with lightly coloured hair or eyes is in no way supposed to represent a japenese person. That's not even up for debate and any denial of that is cope.
Btw Bishōnen is a term used to describe pretty boys and a lot of anime characters supposed to fit this archetype are based off a Swedish actor called Bjorn Andresen. Any character who's appearance is based off a white guy is clearly not supposed to represent a Japanese person. Even if his name is Japenese and he's a samurai, the guy has blonde hair and blue eyes.

Bjorn pretty quickly aged out of being bishonen and lost popularity. I think he was only really popular in Japan when he was around 14. I remember seeing pictures of him in his early 20s and he looked nothing like he did when he was 14. So saying every bishonen character is white because of Bjorn is honestly ridiculous.
Not my point, I said a lot of them are and the writers have sometimes explicitly stated that their characters were inspired by Bjorn.
The only character I know of that was inspired by Bjorn is Griffith and just from the fact that Midland is supposed to be Germany in not-Europe, it's reasonable to conclude that he's ethnically German. Anime is generally an ethnically agnostic artstyle, it makes much more sense to use context clues about a character's name, ancestry, nationality, etc to make an informed assumption about their ethnicity than just looking at their eye color/ hair color. Of course Manga authors and animators know that Japanese people mostly have brown eyes and black hair, but it would be boring and hard to differentiate characters if they all have the same eye and hair color. It's also pretty common for anime characters to have natural hair and eye colors no human on Earth has like green hair or yellow eyes.
why even delude ourselves
honestly just change the source material and have it be set in some upscale private school in an american suburb outside a major city
that is literally the ONLY place a person like Light could
>a. have parents who could have a kid with his phenotype exist together
>b. be successful and not be punished
>c. live without the constant stress of getting mugged
yet
>d. still be aware enough of crime that it's a believable motivation for him at the beginning of the series
>e. not get suspicious of someone looking like L randomly appearing
no one cares gaylord
not a refutation of my point
L showed up that day with the intention of revealing himself.
I know, the idea is that he would fit in more
his demeanor is what sets him apart
yeah Yagami, that white last name!
we wuz death note n shiet
Wtf every one of them is Japanese BESIDES L.
No I'm talking about in the western adaptation u numskull
I'm saying if they do a western adaptation done in the States instead of Japan the only character I could see being asian is L
Why do asian americans care so much? If it bothers you that much why don't you just watch the japanese live action adaptations
Because Asian Americans, hilariously enough, cannot relate to real Asians. Asian Americans derive their identity entirely from the fact that they have slanty eyes and their parents talk funny, which is why they often group together regardless of their parents' nationality and will claim ownership of any Asian culture - even one that they don't belong to. They don't want to put in any effort to connect to their parents' homeland, either culturally or linguistically, but they want to own it, so they perpetually seethe at "outsiders," particularly white people, who do put in the effort to assimilate into that culture or even just have an interest in it. Ultimately, any accusations of white washing can be assuaged by casting a Chinese American as a Japanese character so that a Korean American girl on Twitter can retweet about how inclusive it is. These people don't have actual principles and they don't care about accuracy.
White people be like, “Yes indeed, we were anime characters and whatnot”
>The only asian character in the live action should be L
>When asked about L's ethnicity, creator of the series Tsugumi Ohba responded, "I think of him as a quarter Japanese, a quarter English, a quarter Russian, a quarter French or Italian, like that.
No for the last time I don't care about what the canon is or what the original says if we are doing an adaptation that takes place in America I feel like most of the characters wouldn't be asian
L was barely asian in the first place. He was mainly a Euro mutt with SOME mixed asian ancestry.
You can still cast Asians for anime roles as long as the casting director is an Asian who's worked in the Asian industry. They would cast the most attractive Asians they could find like they do for their own films. If you get an American to cast an Asian you just get a barely above average looking Asian and it looks shit. In most animes, just like most media, the characters are supposed to be attractive so the audience subconsciously empathises them. The only reason normies like Henry Cavill as superman is because he looks like what you think superman would look like. A top 0.001% Chad. Why can't they do this for other races? Because they genuinely haven't met enough Asians to understand their beauty standards.
Look at pic related. These guys are barely 5/10 and they're supposed to action heroes?
well most asians are short so
Even with better casting live action adaptations as a general rule are bad. Unless it plays the character designs very close to a sense of "realism" it will just have an off feel.
>Asian haircuts, Asian hair color, asian eye color, Asian skin color, Asian names with Asian families and living in Japan BUT THEY ARE ACTUALLY WHITE
I think what they mean is they look like ugly Asians not attractive Asians. Idc about why but the most attractive Asians are lighter skinned, have more gracile facial features and tend to look more eurocentric. Even if they're 100% Asian. Same for Turkish, Mexican, Filipino actors and models, they tend to have more eurocentric features compared to the norm. Check out kpop, telenovas, Turkish drama shows etc. They tend to look a certain way.
I think it was cruel to name one of the characters a sound the Japanese cant make.
Oh, come on. L looks like Syd fricking Barrett, he's not asian.
Damn whites getting btfo ITT, not only their races are collapsing, their economy is collapsing but their influence in worlds culture is collapsing. This truly is the Asian (mostly Chinese) century
>Also the last live action wasn't terrible.
>Doesn't even try to use punctuation.
You are dumb. No one should be taking any of what you say seriously.
I heard they made Light an actual protagonist instead of a villain protaganist like in the anime
That was the whole appeal of the anime, that Light had such grey shades
As long as there isn't any blackwashing, it will be an improvement. Then again, I won't watch it, for it's bound to have Black folk somewhere in it. *dabs*
White people be like we wuz animes an shiet.
>Light Yagami grew up in Japan with his family
>When asked about L's ethnicity, creator of the series Tsugumi Ohba responded, "I think of him as a quarter Japanese, a quarter English, a quarter Russian, a quarter French or Italian, like that."
>Misa Amane is a popular Japanese idol
You can easily change Misa to be an onlyfans e-girl thot. They're basically the samething.
i fricking wish jap idols all had nude onlyfans accounts.
>white washed casting
>a Black person and a israelite
What
L is 3/4 european you fricking moron
The next live action will make Light into an incel as well, won't it? Because you can't make a mass murderer seem cool, or god forbid even kind of based, as this would be threatening to the American social order. Or something like that.
