Only issue will be that some small mistakes can make the movie feel unsatisfying.

I would use AI for the background or concept art and then learn how to draw or model from it.
Since AI can still leave unsatisfying mistakes that are tiny, I will have to study harder and smarter.

Exactly, if films can be output with mere prompts from anybody's home PC then there will be an overwhelming amount of content. It will be the equivalent of making a random video and uploading it to the abyss of YouTube, maybe an audience will find it eventually or maybe they won't.

But the AI is just pulling from things that have already been made.

This too, it seems for now AI is completely reliant on what already exists and is stored. If a UFO landed in your backyard tomorrow you could get your camera and start recording it as it happens in reality, but with AI you will only get other peoples interpretations of that happening.

The point is to basically movie towards post scarcity in terms of digital content. Make what you like to watch/read/listen to and just just enjoy it. It's like cooking for yourself instead of b***hing about how restaurants suck. Cinemaphile however loves having something to b***h about so most people here aren't on that train.

Imagine being able to make new episodes of your favourite show that got cancelled or new books in the style of your favourite author who died. Or imagine being able to combine characters under one story that would never get filmed because the IPs are owned by different corporations.

Here's why AI movies/games/music will never take over. It lacks the shared experience. A big reason of why people enjoy all these things is the social aspect.

Sharing your own AI generated content with others and getting feedback/brainstorming ideas on how to improve with new prompts is the social aspect though. DALLE-3 threads were huge a few months back, the only reason they've dropped is because the initial novelty has worn out and because the AI itself is nerfed/regulated to frick so its not even usuable anymore.

I saw those AI threads, and they weren't very social. The anon you're replying to has a point. If you AI generate a movie, and I don't watch it because I don't think it looks good, the social aspect would be missing.

          >I saw those AI threads, and they weren't very social.
I participated in many threads across different boards, many were very social. The Cinemaphile ones were great back during the Costanza age in the first week or so, but after the first round of hard nerfs they dropped off into coomer shit with disney-obsessed trannies. The /v/ threads were ironically more enjoyable and we had lots of discussion of ideas and techniques and things to try to outwit the system while also exploring self-managed AI solutions.

You have a good point but those dall-e threads on Cinemaphile are hot garbage and just pure spam. The social aspect would be making proper content with AI and then watching it with other people and discussing it, not just shitting out 150 random images of harley quinn and kermit every 24hrs.

I lean towards this. I legit had a lot of fun generating a lot of images of my "OC", characters that have existed in my imagination for decades but I've never had the capabilities to fully realize. A few days spent playing with the English language and I was able to generate dozens, hundreds of remarkable images that come closer to looking exactly like how these characters looked in my head more than ever before. Regardless of how they may look to anyone else, they satisfy ME perfectly, which is more anyone in Hollywood is capable of doing. I could construct little stories or vignettes with them. It was a fun toy. It is still limited in its potential, of course. I'd like to be able to write full stories, but there are the consistency issues, the randomness, the difficulty in expressing fine detail and micromanaging every pose and scene. These will get better in time no doubt.. but for now I've had my fill. As fun as it was, there's still something unsatisfying about it since I can't bind everything together yet into a complete fulfilling work. The future's gonna be nuts though.

The point is that if everyone is an artist, then no one is. We need some barrier of entry. Some hierarchy, to ensure that we can protect the space of human creativity. It isn't perfect what we have now, but at least it's real. It's why AI people are always anarchist "burn hollywood down" types. They don't actually care about art. They just want to cause as much damage as they can.

Art is anything that takes skill to master anyone can set out to create content in any medium they want. It's up to audiences to debate the value of their works. Same as always. That won't change. The only real part of this that changes is the business side of things since companies can cut down on graphic designers and twitter/patreon artists are losing their fanbases and are probably in this thread seething about it.

You're wrong, art ISN'T actually anything that takes skill. Art is art.
The difference is that some people work hard for results, while others let a machine do all the work, then goes on to demand the same level of respect as hard working people by trying to work the narrative in their favor.

Because what you said is entirely politically motivated.
                >This simply cannot be allowed
That's the very essence of the leftist mindset. To control the very thought of the people for "the common good". To view everything, literally everything, in terms of what must be "allowed" and "not allowed". You think it's possible to control what a person ACTUALLY BELIEVES, what they actually feel in their hearts when they look at something----or someone. It is the fundamental expression of evil, and the stupidest possible thing you could have said, though it has to compete very hard against other stupid thing you said. So don't fricking whine "w-why did you suddenly get political." You dragged shit on the carpet, you take it out back and wash it.

                >We need some barrier of entry. Some hierarchy,
We have one. It's called the free market of ideas. In fact, AI, if it ends up being at all feasible, will solve the problem that centralization presents with shit like Tubi and Netflix. Those environments only guarantee continual slop according to the mandates or financial capabilities of its hosts. Being able to break free of the confines and limitations of "the natural order movies are supposed to be made" can, at this low point in our artistic zeitgeist, only be a boon.

What YOU'RE arguing for is some repressive form of authority, the dying gasp of a tyrant who feels his ability to lord his insignificant uniqueness over others slipping through his fingers. This guy said it best

Another moron defending a moron. There are currently more movies and tv shows in existence than anyone can watch in their lifetime and yet we find ways to select items and watch them and discuss. And that'd not even counting youtube videos where a lifetime worth of content gets posted every single day. People select what they want to see and discuss it with others that have seen it or just people they like talking to and sharing their experiences with.

I treat music as a hobby and listen to at least two to three albums a day and I am not even remotely close to scratching 1% of the things I'd want to listen to. >If
                >If
There's the rub. We've already seen everyone CAN'T even prompt images. I have a couple funny Costanza AI pics I generated. I have far more funny Costanza pics other people generated that are much better than mine. Different people have different ideas and other peoples' sense of humor can be hilarious. The methodology by which the media is created is, to a certain degree at least, less important than the thought that goes into it.

On top of that, whoever said there's no social aspects to AI creation is just moronic. Maybe there's less of it in AI threads since they just became coomers and gooners wasting their lives to the same crap over and over, but the early threads were fricking incredible with some of the ideas people were coming up with, it was literally just a bunch of bros trading jokes and memes. it's coming along but there are a few big leaps that still need to be made. some graphics software devs are starting to implement AI generation between frames to boost framerates, so I imagine the development of its recognition of objects in that regard will lead to the right advancements that result in the capacity to prompt actual video.

I warned of this. AI, especially AI animation, is going to cause mass disassociation disorder. Not even joking. The more you stare at AI the weaker your ability to parse reality gets. It's physically, neurologically damaging. Much of our ability to parse reality depends on reality remaining consistent and predictable across and many circumstances as possible. The second something inconsistent or unpredictable happens, anxiety shoots up. Your car breaks down, a sudden health ailment crops up, you lose a job, the "reality" we thought we were in suddenly disappears, the mental "map" we've made of the world we live in is useless, we need to navigate and re-map every next step in our lives. AI imagery is a visual representation of a world that is NEVER consistent, NEVER inherently predictable, where every known law of physics is suspended or bent in subtle, inscrutable ways. You don't notice it right away.. but your brain does. It adds up, and those incredibly important mental pathways for navigating reality are fed damaging information.

Even worse, is dilutes and devalues meaning. You can generate one picture that's almost exactly what you want. Not good enough? You can generate 10,000 more effortlessly. They're all similar, but different. None is perfect. All are interchangeable. Which is the "real one"? None of them.. they're all just as good. They all matter the same.. which means they don't matter at all. It's like "multiverse theory" made manifest. It's a terrifying new frontier, all the moreso because the ability to wield this power for entertainment is incredibly seductive.

I'm sorry my post is too intimidating for you, even though it describes something that is immeasurably important to your personal future. But we can't all be saved. Most of society is made up of your type unfortunately, those who can never think and act, only react.

Yeah, I think you are pretty much right, if you spent some time playing with stable diffusion and making pictures. It's like porn but on steroids. I wouldn't be suprised if some people and I mean a lot will get their noodles fried by it. Luckily I know about nofap and stopped it, just in a nick of time.

It isn't just about pornography. That's a separate but parallel problem. AI presents an entirely new set of problems, the ones I suggested in my earlier post primarily being psychological. And I'm not saying it's completely bad either. It's provocative and tantalizing and it COULD end up doing incredible things for our future. Or it could end up being utterly disastrous. Or it could end up being a mediocre and boring diversion. Or it could be all three of these things. Or it could be something in another direction entirely that we can't even conceive of yet. To say we're still at the tip of the iceberg even isn't enough of an exaggeration. But I doubt that will stop many groups from trying to exploit it to its maximum possible potential, whether benevolent or nefarious.

TEE EL DEE ARR AI is something we ought to be paying very careful attention to, whether we like it or not.

Know what separates Man from the beasts, anon? The ability to suspend immediate gratification for instant benefit. Yes, some animals practice similar behavior, burying seeds for spring, but it's only rote instinct. It's Man that's capable of seeing the future, thinking about what he has today and what he won't have tomorrow, and deciding he wishes to have more tomorrow. This concept has a name, and it's a powerful one: Sacrifice. Sacrifice is literally the act of withholding what you want, or even need, today, because you know it will be important for the future. To simply do "whatever you want", to treat every sudden impulse as good--the hedonic impulse--is to doom yourself. There's no shortage to the stories and cautions our ancestors laid down for us on this important principle. Aesop's grasshopper, the story of Cain and Abel. Sacrifice is the most vital concept to humanity.

This may seem cool if you switch your brain off and I hate the fricking evil cults that have ruined media as much as anyone but this is not the answer. Plus, it will just make it easier for the propaganda to be made. Who knows though? Maybe the people who sold their souls to these corporations go apeshit when they realize it was for nothing and their work was assimilated to AI and they revolt. Fat chance of that though they'll just off themselves.

Yes, and? You're upset by that? You said "the elites", which implies don't understand much about the current state of AI. Your behavior suggests you live in a world where you only think in terms of what you're allowed or allowed to have by some external authority figure, and have little experience expressing any form of independent agency.

Falling in love with actors has already had a notable and damaging effect on society.
But at least in that case, it only takes interviews with the actor to confirm that the character they played isn't real.
That won't be there with ai characters. So you'll just be left with a longing that your soulmate exists in a brief moment of pixels.

        >What are anime waifus?
