In this thread: we help eachother find movies we saw but can't remember the name of

I've been binging a shitload of 90s movies lately and I'm trying to find a movie I can't remember the name of. I thought it was Mermaids (pic related), but it wasn't.

It's a coming of age drama with a typical indie quirky girl. She likes to re-read the same book and gets mocked for it by her little sister. She hooks up with a nerdy guy, and just after they get caught by her mother. He awkwardly zips up his pants. She then gives them some awkward sex-ed with a biology class model.

Man and a woman on on otherwise empty plane like this making out I think and I think she was dressed as a stewardess. Especially since as I recall her face was actually a mask that she rips off and then kills him with a scalpel. Probably made from 1975-1979. I think I saw it around 1985 on tv when I was a kid but I'm now extremely familiar with 1980-1990 movies. I just started looking through 75-79 last night. Could've been a tv show.

Some sort of sci-fi on a space station, I saw it in the 90's but it's probably older?

Beginning of movie had a guy in an astronaut soup die by expanding and exploding after his suit was breached.

Then all I recall is that there was a chase, one white guy chased a different white guy (I think) across the space station, they ended up in the kitchen, and one of them his face thrown into some sort of firer, fricking him up.

I think one of those guys was police/security on the station?

Pretty sure it was a full movie not some tv series.

Maybe I'm just an idiot and jumped to conclusions too soon, but I've watched half of Mermaids before going to work and hat to stop and nothing I remember happened. I also vaguely thought that the film I rememberd was set in the current time (i.e. the 90s) and Mermaids is set in the sixties. And the guy in Mermaids isn't very nerdy.

    90s-00s movie

I can't recall much, but I noticed it every time I went into my local blockbuster. It was a horror film, judging by its case, and it might have been in a two-VHS-tape box. All I can remember about it was that there was a picture of a man in the (top?) right side of the backside of the black cover art who looked kinda demonic and (as I thought) he looked like he had peeled his skin off with an evil smile on his face.

ok so it's a russian movie. Seen it before 1990. They're starvin in the woods so they put some dirty kid to clean a big black cauldron. The kid has a rag and he uses the little water on the bottom of the cauldron to clean it. While he's cleaning they show the others coming closer to the cauldron and looking down at the kid ( the Cauldon is show on fire )
They all gather around the cauldron while the kid looks a bit scared. They have forks and knives in their hand and some lick their lips
They show them later eating happily.

    90-00s movie, not sure which.
Weird comedy-horror movie about a bunch of teenagers going to explore a haunted house. Only the house is infested with zombies, and when they show a zombie walking the movie does some really weird shit that stuck by me all these years. They show the zombie walking, they keep zooming in and out while this colored light keeps flashing on and off. It's really moronic but also super memorable.

The plot turns out to be that there's an evil wizard that wants to do...something and the main character is the chosen human sacrifice. As he's in jail with one of the henchmen who rebelled because he realized the wizard wants to destroy the world, reveals that the sacrifice has to be virgin.... so he then tries to frick the main character in the ass to save the world. It's really funny in how stupid it is.

I must’ve been 5 or 6 when I bought a copy of Joe’s Apartment or Carpool. There was a segment before the movie that featured a “episode of the week” from a television show.

    >Mid-late 90’s tv show
    >office environment
    >”On this week’s episode, ____ gets stuck on the toilet.”
    >Cuts to some lady stuck in the toilet at the office with multiple quick cuts of people saying “she’s stuck in the bowl.”
    >The way it was presented as if it were a Seinfeld episode.

My uncle had this strange VHS tape that featured early CGI test footage with extremely peaceful ambient music in the background. Tons of stuff including leaves on trees changing colors from different seasons of the year to planets and moons. Shit was unbelievably comfy. This was something I would watch when I was barely 1 until I was 3 (1995-1997) and I never saw it again.

It must’ve been something he recorded on tv because at the end, it cuts to an episode of Nick’s Stick Stickly.

I've got two, first one is probably easier. First is a zombie movie I think, or some kind of horror movie, there's a scene where there's a bunch of girls in a dance studio or something, they might've had their breasts out, can't remember. Someone comes in and shoots them all to death. Main characters were a pair of detectives I think, I only remember that one was a black woman, there's a scene where she's hung up in a kitchen and has to be cut down by her partner. Looked like and 80s movie.

Second one is more of a longshot, I can't remember much about it other than I think it mostly took place in one house. I don't remember 90% of the movie so it couldn't have been that eventful but it ends with the main female character's boyfriend trying to kill her family and chasing them in the basement. Pretty sure it was a 2000s movie, title was really short, one or two words, like "The X".

The movie I'm thinking of I only have hazy memories of, but I remember it as a weird 80s or 90s comedy in which people are turned into candy, I also remember someone (the main antagonist?) falling into a vat in a lab where the process to turn people into candy occurs.

I did not actually watch this movie I read a summary of it on wikipedia so there may be some inaccuracies.

The guy suffers an emotional breakdown and lock himself in the relax room and his female first officer take care of the tripulation but it's a disaster and she goes to bring him back. There's this short movie, possibly from showtime or one of those after hours cable networks in the late 90s early 2000s. It's about a guy who has an imaginary girlfriend, they frick and go on dates and long walks at the park. Then he meets a real hot chick and asks her out. Rather than cheat on his current "girlfriend" he introduces her to the imaginary girl. The real girl plays along, probably turns her on a little bit. They begin a poly relationship, but the funny thing is that the two women break up with him at the end and wind up together.

Some indie low cost movie about guy with some kind of disorder, there is scene where he hallucinates that his neighbor is flirting with him and inviting him for sex, then there is scene where he is ordering prostitute, lot of sex scenes. He lived in really poor and small apartment.

I remember being very young and watching an animated film about rabbits and some animal warning the rabbits not to go to a specific area and showing them looking progressively more fricked up and feral should they go into said area. Could never for the life of me figure out what this was. I've looked into it and it's definitely not Watership Down btw.

Saw a movie on tv in the late 90s maybe early 2000s maybe on UPN. It opens with a young fat black guy having a fantasy on a beach with his dream girl then cuts to him waking up in his bed and going to work at a burger place. I have no idea what movie this is but the scene has stayed with me

Ok, so the movie begins with these giants robots invading new york city/esque, then it calms down and it ends up with the protagonist and (1 female lead?) going to the villains secret lair and discovers a beautiful hidden nature, new beginning-type utopia. Don't remember anything else but would greatly appreciate if anyone knows.

There was this horror movie i saw on tv many years ago. It was probably a direct to tv movie. It was about this guy who could see ghosts. He had flashbacks of when he was a child he would always see this scary image of a boy coming in his bedroom through the window. I also remember this other scene where he sees another ghost boy sitting in a chair and the boy starts vomiting sand. These are the only 2 memories I have of the film but they left an impression on me ever since.

I don't remember if it was a movie or a TV show, but some male character had their mouth removed or sealed up with magic, and it couldn't be reversed so they had to have surgery to cut a new mouth for them.

a late 90s or early 00s animated feature length film that WASN"T marsupilami
that's really all I can say, the protagonist was a similar animal but without the dots and there was a segment on a boat and another in city where he meets a dog or fox
there are also human characters and one of the villains (?) is a lady that at some point wears a g-string on a boat
it also felt european but I can't be certain

Survival movie I saw on TV in the 90's. A young married couple and their dog are caretaking some cabins or a lodge in Alaska for the winter. Something happens and they have to make a trek over the mountain pass on foot. At some point the woman suggests they eat the dog and is harshly rebuffed.

Okay, this isn't a movie, but an animated series: two men speaking in a European language are outside of a mine shaft, one puts on a hat and whips the other one onto the cart, they both ride down the mine shaft as the guy with the hat sings a song about how he is the "Pokemon of Politics." It was in 3D animation and I think it might've been some politacl satire show.

All I can remember of it was a scene where this woman's looking around at a pool for a guy that she wanted to seduce and scam I think and pretends to stumble falling into the lap of the guy she chose. Definitely a vampire movie. Starts off with a family that lives in a lone house somewhere out in the country(possibly mexico?) getting invaded by vampires. The son gets away by hiding in the cupboard or something and grows up to be a vampire hunter with the help of a vampire hunting book he finds that was passed down in his family.
Rest of the movie is him as an adult hunting down the vamps that killed his parents.

Someone has to know this one. I saw a clip in a feels thread a million years ago and now I really want to watch the movie it came from but I can’t find it.

The scene is this guy driving a car, his wife is in the passenger seat. She has some sickness I think cancer or something. Anyways there’s a long shot where the guy keeps looking over at her while driving, and she’s asleep, but he thinks she died right there in the car. He pulls over and slowly reaches out to her, and she wakes up, and he bursts into tears of relief.

The guy kinda looks like Patton Oswalt (chubby, droopy face), but it’s not him.

I only have a dialogue exchange.
First character is a rich & evil Monty Burns/Frank from Always Sunny type character. Or maybe a mobster. The protagonist of the movie/show falls in with his crowd and the Rich Evil Guy says:
    >"I love this guy. He's like the brother I never had"
then one of his mooks replies:
    >"I thought you had a brother?"
and then the Rich Evil Guy says
    >"Okay fine, he's like the brother I actually like!"

It's been driving me nuts. It might be a TV show and not a movie but any help would be appreciated.

I remember this joke, but can't remember what it's from. Got more details?

        Anonymous

I do not have any more details that I am confident about. I kind of remember the Rich Evil Guy sounding like Rodney Dangerfield but that could just be me changing it in my head because it would be appropriate.
It was likely a recent-ish movie/tv show (ie: early 2000s at the earliest) and for some reason I get strong Futurama vibes from it but I'm pretty sure it isn't Futurama, How I Met Your Mother, or Seinfeld. I guess I'm leaning more toward it being a TV show than a movie now that I think about it. I want to say it isn't The Simpsons but I'm not positive. Googling the quote gives nothing and I assume that if it was a more popular show there would be some 'Simpsons Quotes.Com' website that included it somewhere. Could it be 30 Rock?

I think this could be from an episode of CHiPs (1977-1983), but I don't want to lead you down a wrong road if I'm mistaken.

It definitely isn't because I've never even heard of that show before.

A television show in the early 00s or very late 90s where it opens with an eerie sort of cold open in a kind of mountainous rocky region where some yellow rain comes and the person goes out to their field after the rain passed over and all the livestock is dead from the yellow rain.

Mystery sci-fi film I saw as a kid in the early 2000s on TV, probably a late 90s US production. Title picture had a plane over water I think. It started with said plane either crashing or disappearing. There were people trying to figure out some sort of mystery around that, sneaking into an air base, I distinctly remember a green night vision scene and a hangar full of people in "stasis". I've been looking for years on and off, the closest I got was "Millennium" from 1989, which it definitely is not, but it hits a lot of the key words.

Saw a sci-fi horror as a kid. The only scene I remember is that the crew are fleeing and I think they're in a spaceship that looks like the Nostromo from Alien or some old sci-fi facility. The scene I remember there's also a reddish hue, I think it's because an alarm had went off.

But what I remember the most about that scene is that a fat guy falls and lies on his back between one of the automated doors. The doors keep trying to close over and over again and blood spurts from his stomach

There's a horror movie where a guy slowly loses his senses (to demonic possession I think) and in one scene he pushes a needle up through his fingertip and pushes the nail off.
