I always liked it. It was only way later that I found out it was controversial and poorly regarded. I like Willie too, how annoying she's supposedly is way overblown.

Except it isn't. The actress herself thought the character was too annoying.

*She does get less annoying as the film goes on though.

from her being rescued to the rest of the movie when it's basically non-stop action that she stops being annoying, and that's because there aren't any situations for her to be annoying

She's the most realistic portrayal of a woman on film.

By who? It's a 10/10 kino of the highest order. I ever prefer it to Raiders.

1st and 2nd are only good Indy films. 3rd is borderline slapstick and 4 is ruined by bad CGI and grandpa Jones. Havent swej 5 but its probably even worse. The fact that none iconic ancient ruin scenes like espacing from the boulder or ancient temple altair are ahown anywhere suggests boeing crap.

Because 1st and 2nd are the ONLY Indy films. Crusade is just a carbon copy of Raiders as a knee-jerk reaction to Temple being too dark and different criticism. And the less said about the geriatric era, the better.

Crusade is only so beloved because of its lighter kid-friendly tone and coming out when the home video market was really booming, allowing more kids to watch it more frequently and have greater nostalgia for it later on. Same with T2.

Temple of Doom is indeed kino, but it feels like you can make any movie look kino with the 3x3, similar to a highlight reel of someone like Brian Scalabrine looking like Michael fricking Jordan. 3x3 can be deceptive.

I re-watched the Indiana Jones trilogy a couple of weeks ago.
Temple of Doom is not a bad movie but it has its fair share of problems. Setting up the movie with a cool Chinese setting where you have an endless possibility of artifacts and mystical history to explore only to go into some boring ass Indian shithole is a major letdown.
The movie suffers from any real stakes. It's never explained what the Thuggee cult's goals are. They kidnap kids to work in the mines, okay. They brainwash people to do what exactly? It's never explained what the stones are or what they actually do. You're not given any reason to care about the Indian village other than serving as a flimsy excuse for Indiana to go on an adventure.
Willie Scott is insanely annoying. It's fine that at first she's freaked out by everything, but she should get stronger as the movie goes on and that just doesn't happen.
That said, the fight scenes with the Thuggee cult in their lair, the mine cart chase and the bridge scene are great. The movie definitely finishes strong.

I really, really enjoy Indy's personal story with his father in 3. I just love everything about it. I'm not even saying the other two are bad, I love the trilogy. When I was a kid I used to rent the soundtrack cassettes from the library and just listen to them for hours during the summer. Star Wars was cool but Indiana Jones is where it's at.

First is a classic, liked second for a darker tone. Third felt a bit less for me, and 4th, being as it is, still felt like an Indiana Jones movie, with good action and a decent dose of things that could freak me out.
Also I saw it in camrip, so the poor video quality made it look more like the first movies.
      Don't care about Dial.

I like them all. If any of them are on TV I watch it. I miss movies like this that actually sucked you into their world with top notch production design. That simply doesn't exist in movies anymore.

2nd movie was garbage and ruined the spirit of Indian Jones. The whole point of the Jones movies is you don't know if the mythological artefacts are actually spiritual or do nothing; the movies are made with that in mind, to make the audience think and figure it out. In Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom, it was explicitly stated that mysticism is real. That's why it was easily the worst of the original three movies.
