They squandered their chance at a satisfying final season by begging for support to make one more season, then making it a prequel with very little connection to the other season, then trying to beg for support for ANOTHER season, showing they had no real end game thought and were just trying make it go as long as possible.
It does when you remember. >Jeremy was picked up straight after the crash >Alrick died in hospital >Amelia's 33 years line wasn't referring to her time on the train but her time as its conductor.
It does when you remember. >Jeremy was picked up straight after the crash >Alrick died in hospital >Amelia's 33 years line wasn't referring to her time on the train but her time as its conductor.
Nobody fucking cares - it wasn't worth sitting through an entire season of nothing to get the fucking meagerest of lore drops that "the guy who hit Alrick might have been on The Train at some point" at the end.
Who gives a shit? "Guy who hit Alrick" is as relevant to the plot as the "you'll be dead" guy from Star Wars.
I still don't know what they were thinking ending it on that season. If the writing was on the wall they really should have went for almost anything else.
>show gets cancelled by CN >fans try to renew it by starting a movement >couple of cartoon creators jump in the pile to support it >CN doesn’t care >movement loses traction and gets forgotten >HBO removes the show from its streaming service a year later
It's an inherently stupid premise. What drooling retard thinks "I'MMA MAKE A SHOW ABOUT A MAGIC TRAIN THAT FORCES PEOPLE INTO THERAPY!!!" and doesn't immediately kill themselves? Unacceptable.
He didn't say it was good, he said it was popular. Popular means it's accepted and acceptable. You were saying something like it is unacceptable. Neck yourself, loud child.
Well let’s see >drama is good but not great, only a big deal for cartoon fans who only watch kid cartoons and are surprised to see one show that’s slightly more fucked up than usual. Said fans are not a profitable demographic since they pirate what they watch anyways >released in a limited series format despite not being that after the first season >10 episode seasons despite all of them written like they’re part of a 20 episode story, meaning shit gets rushed >showrunner is kind of a pretentious asshole who lied about the show being greenlit for more seasons >S3 is really fucking bad >show eventually loses interest in the train structure and the setting itself becomes boring
But this is the most important part >crew thought they would get 8 seasons in the middle of an animation crisis where every show got cancelled left and right
What the fuck were they thinking
Everyone acts like S3 was great until the very end, but the truth is that it had fundamental issues from the start. Namely in that it fails to make the audience sympathize with the protagonists.
The problem is that the writers thought Grace was more sympathetic than she was and Simon was less sympathetic than he was. I recall one of the writers rambling on twitter about how Simon was a "clinical narcissist" and how he could never get better because he thought he was always right. Never really lined up with how they portrayed him if you ask me.
I don’t think Infinity Train should get any sort of renewal, here are my reasons.
1.) If it were to be renewed there wouldn’t be that much hype, talk, or even views since the community is dead, and since the only viewers left are piratefags, I doubt they would watch it legally even.
2.) Infinity Train is an Anthology series, which means all of its stories have been told and have had (more or less) satisfying endings, yes I know some stories have been “set up” like Amelia or whatever but still that doesn’t really warrant a continuation, many stories are suppose to make you wonder what happens even if they end, it’s not like Infinity Train ended with a cliffhanger.
3.) The new writing would suck. The fans have been waiting so long that anything the writers would put out would fall short of expectations or worse comes to worse they get a completely new writing cast that barely understand the first four books, thus making its continuation feel like a completely different show.
So really I feel like at most Infinity Train deserves a small comic series, just to wrap up any stories they set up or to satisfy fans with questions. >TLDR
1.) Not popular enough.
2.) Anthology Series.
3.) Possible poor writing.
Write a comic at most.
It didn't seem to know who its audience was and seemed a bit too self-satisfied with its stacks of half-opened mystery boxes. But that's true of a lot of cartoons nowadays. Really it wasn't bad and I appreciated that it went hard at moments. I was consistently expecting it to handle its themes with less tact than it did.
btw Grace deserved to die just as much if not more than Simon. Couple of fuckin demons.
Season 4 was pointless garbage and ruined any chance for another season. They literally had so much excellent buildup through S1 - 3 and they said “fuck it, random Asian dudes and a bell”
Reminder studios have made it clear trending on twitter doesn't matter.
And now that it's X and Elon Musk is destroying it, trending matters even less.
>season 4 was extremely boring.
I still have no idea why they did that season if there was even a hint they weren't going to get the eight seasons they thought they were going to get. They really should have went with some other story they had initially planned.
if they didn’t do season 4 the show would’ve ended after season 3 because they would’ve immediately tried to do the Amelia season and gotten cancelled for not having a character 18 or younger
I know this is probably a joke answer, but I really don't get how they reached that mentality. Season four had two college age guys. I can't help but wonder if that may have screwed them.
Show got one season, divided into four parts. Did a hell of a lot more with its 20 x 20 minutes than its contemporaries. I am satisfied and the gorilla is dead.
my brother who is an animation expert told me this is solid at best with bright spots here and there. he told me not to bother with it. i watched one ep and it confirmed what he said to me. i was happy to see some weird shit like this still being made. not many cartoons like this.
>Book 1:
Hey, this is pretty good. >Book 2:
Actually, this is pretty great. >Book 3:
This is still okay. >Book 4:
Hey, remember how good Books one and two were?
The annoying melodramatic therapy stuff kept me from watching more than Book 1 when it was airing. That shit wore thin with Adventure Time too, writers are fucking obnoxious with this shit. Tulip was also an annoying protagonist, so knowing the second season had her mirror version on top of a shaved head design made me feel pretty comfortable in my choice of not really bothering with this retardation. I don't feel bad for the autistic fanbase it compiled nor the writers who couldn't just be fine with having 4 seasons and end it there.
Gay people and not knowing where to fucking stop your story and say this is enough
>INFINITY
Which gay people?
The gay people.
You mean shippers?
They weren’t even gay though
It was heavily alluded to
The word you want is construed. It was heavily construed. By fujos.
ryan was a flamer
Ryan was just friendly. Min was clearly the gay one.
I like to believe Min was.
obsessed
they acted like Mordecai and Rigby
>Image
Left
It sucked.
Kill yourself, tackel
Who’s Tackel?
Some nagger from /vg/'s Halo general
Are you sure it’s this “Tackel” and not some random /hg/ crossposter?
I happen to know tackel posts on Cinemaphile which makes him the most likely culprit
Meds.
cool concept, really bad execution
season 2 was neat at least
No child entry point.
It got 4 season each with an ending, more than what most cartoons get.
It didn't get renewed and then it got written off for taxes. Good show killed by shitty exec moves.
You never know what current year awfulness would have been in the other seasons.
The next one would've had a 2000s setting
They squandered their chance at a satisfying final season by begging for support to make one more season, then making it a prequel with very little connection to the other season, then trying to beg for support for ANOTHER season, showing they had no real end game thought and were just trying make it go as long as possible.
>Prequel with very little connection to the other seasons
>Contains the other half of the inciting incident for the overarching plot as we know it.
>Still believing Jeremy killed Alrick
Time doesn’t match.
It does when you remember.
>Jeremy was picked up straight after the crash
>Alrick died in hospital
>Amelia's 33 years line wasn't referring to her time on the train but her time as its conductor.
None of this fucking matters, they could have just had a fourth season with Amelia and end things fine. S4 was just unnecessary.
Is everyone in the train somewhat related?
Like you can trace them together in some sort of net?
Nobody fucking cares - it wasn't worth sitting through an entire season of nothing to get the fucking meagerest of lore drops that "the guy who hit Alrick might have been on The Train at some point" at the end.
Who gives a shit? "Guy who hit Alrick" is as relevant to the plot as the "you'll be dead" guy from Star Wars.

nothing

Silent Hill is a pretty popular franchise
Silent Hill is a trash franchise which has ZERO good entries. Feel free to have a point.
He didn't say it was good, he said it was popular. Popular means it's accepted and acceptable. You were saying something like it is unacceptable. Neck yourself, loud child.
They killed the white boy.
>Infinity Train
>The cartoon for cartoon reviewing manchildren who want children's cartoons that's "not REALLY" for children
Season 3 was too good for that show
>Season 2 was too good for that show
FTFY
That it was.
What was even the point of season 4?
Why was it some completely unrelated prequel set in the 80s instead of a follow up to season 3?
Each season is essentially self contained, what made you think it wasn't so?
It is really self contained.
Well let’s see
>drama is good but not great, only a big deal for cartoon fans who only watch kid cartoons and are surprised to see one show that’s slightly more fucked up than usual. Said fans are not a profitable demographic since they pirate what they watch anyways

S3 was great until the last episode, where they just sort of went ham.

Very true. In a show that was about the characters screwing them up in season 3 caused huge problems.
Very true. Writers need to learn that they won't get more seasons so they need to end their story.
The last episode sucks specifically because of how the second half was all badly handled
I don’t think Infinity Train should get any sort of renewal, here are my reasons.

Stupid fucks at Time/Warner didn't pay attention to the fan base, and killed it.
stupid fucks in the writer's room had a chance to wrap things up neatly but decided to push their luck and leave with an unsatisfying ending
It wasn't even finished.
Owen had four more books, but the buy out/merger with Discovery/Time-Warner killed everything.
Season 4 was pointless garbage and ruined any chance for another season. They literally had so much excellent buildup through S1 - 3 and they said “fuck it, random Asian dudes and a bell”
Ryan!
Did nothing wrong
He stole Mins keys
Only because Ryan knew he was unhappy.
No, that would be Simon
it ended
i guess
And it ended on a good song.
Worst part is there that they are no physical copy releases for Book Three and four.
Nobody cares about those seasons enough to buy them
God I would've love to hear the writers try and explain themselves throughout Book 3.
Never heard of it.
It got a lot of hype when it first came out because people thought it might be the next Over the Garden Wall. It wasn't.
lmao how the fuck are there people that hate this show
I really hope those are all bait
Simonfags still malding
Your lack of critical thinking has failed you once again
BUMP

>Reminder studios have made it clear trending on twitter doesn't matter.
Source?
Turns out it wasn't infinite after all.
seasons 1 2 and 3 is so awesome and so lowkey its absolutely fire.
season 4 was extremely boring.
Show got cancelled cause cunts.
idk man
s3 killed the show
If they had balls they would have confirmed it instead of playing around with it like pussies
>season 4 was extremely boring.

for some reason they counted 18 as a child, Simon and Grace were 18 too
Wouldn't an Amelia season have Hazel?
Or do residents not count as children?
>Season 3 was awesome
>Season 3 killed the show
These aren’t mutually exclusive
Didn't make a shitzillion dollars and HBO couldn't grift tax dollars off of it's production, why keep it when you can't exploit it?
>He's literally me
Thread could really use some more Blake.
>Her pronouns are they/them
Thank fuck this show got canceled.
>Her pronouns
>Blake, the racist skater boy from the early 2000s
The fuck are you on about?
That writers nowadays can't think beyond current year.
Show got one season, divided into four parts. Did a hell of a lot more with its 20 x 20 minutes than its contemporaries. I am satisfied and the gorilla is dead.

>my brother who is an animation expert told me not to bother with it.
I've seen better shows with worse animation to be fair.
IT'S TUESDAY!
POST TULIP!
You tell 'em, TULIP!
>What happened?
>Book 1:
Hey, this is pretty good.

Actually, this is pretty great.

This is still okay.

Haven't you ever seen Star Trek?
Would you a Bell?
>no eyelash lines
No way fag
>He still needs eyelashes to jack off to characters
Weak, I've gotten to the point where a character doesn't even need eyes anymore.
I'll jerk it to a dude, because dudes look kind of like women, but I need my inanimate objects to be feminine.
DING DING DING DING DING
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
What's the point in making these threads anymore? We're just repeating the same things over and over. Go home.
And what thread on Cinemaphile doesn't?
It’s a ritual you see, we make the same threads over and over again and the show will be magically renewed.
season 1 is the only best season. Should have just stopped there.
>season 1 is the only best season
Can't argue with that
