She was never going to have a heart attack. Her friends were also leaving next year and Riley needed to scout out new friends. The movie kind of acknowledges that with fear initially enjoying anxiety's presence. There's also a moment with sadness and embarrassment having some sort of connection. They also mention that they're just complex emotions where as the original emotions are more basic.
