But to answer your question, the plot sucks, a lot. It's a rehash of the plot of the first movie, but this time Anxiety plays the antagonist and behaves like a genuine villain that sends Riley's "sense of self" and the 5 OG emotions to the back of Riley's mind and proceeds to change Riley's personality, flood her sleep with nightmares, undo her friendship and even commit theft in an attempt to be popular with the brown girl with danger hair that appears in the trailer, all while the 5 OG try to recover Riley's SOS and return to the HQ, all while the other new emotions do jackshit. The worst part is that the plot tries to portrait Anxiety as sympathetic in the same way the previous movie did with Sadness, except that unlike Sadness Anxiety is a 100% negative and destructive emotion that only causes damage to everyone. Also Disgust has a crush on a Final Fantasy-like character and Anger befriends a talking pouch.

Envy barely has a character, at least in the novel. She's just Anxiety's Yes Ma'am and says things like "I wish I had [thing]" from time to time. She doesn't transform into an evil/monster versikn of herself as anons theorized

Actually Riley AND Anxiety get to have their respective panic attacks at the climax of the movie, with Anxiety's being manifested as a storm that blocks the control panel and causes Riley's panic attack.
Even though I think the movie is flawed with the overcrowded cast and pacing, I really liked that part of the movie so much.
I did get the feeling that is what it would have been about from the trailer. I liked the first movie, and I remember one of the complaints about it was that only Joy and Sadness are the only on the adventure while the other emotions are left behind, so I was happy to see that all of them were on the adventure this time but at the same time it gave vibes of a Direct to DVD sequel.

Riley IS the thief. Anxiety removes Riley's memory of theft being bad and forces her to steal her coach's notebook that contains notes about every camp member in order to see how Riley can improve as a hockey player and be part of miss danger hair's team. Anxiety also makes Riley die her hair to resemble that other girl's.

They probably would have to call them something like "Passion" but I agree. Lust is both a negative and positive emotion, and fits with Riley growing older. It is also easy to handwave away one emotion not showing up in the previous film. You can make a gag about them always having been off-screen before.

reading all the spoilers, this looks like an episode of Braceface. Where's the antagonist, where's the climax? Riley comes up as a fricking bland, assinine person.
Movies (unless it's Sony) tend to be released two days earlier in the Philippines. I recall there was even one time when GOTG Vol 2 premiered there two whole weeks in advance before it dropped in the US.
movie should have been about body image issues when roley starts to get fat from all that fast food take out and all that uber instead of walking.

I've watched the movie earlier today and I'd say it's not half bad to say the least, even though it's kinda a rehash of the first film as some of you may say. Instead of Joy who fricked up, it's Anxiety this time. Although to be fair there's still some areas that Joy messed up (discarding memories to the back of the mind). Story's alright but it's not as heartwarming as the first movie. I've kinda expected that the movie would balance the screentime among the new emotions but I was wrong. Envy did nothing significant in the film whatsoever. The movie also suffers with weird pacing, like when Riley got emotional on her mom when she haven't packed for hockey camp yet. I also find it confusing that the Firehawks suddenly have bonded with Riley even though they literally backstabbed her the minute she first fricks up. They even invited her into some night out or something like nothing happened? I still enjoyed the movie though. The mixed animation part with the toddler cartoon parody and the Final Fantasy character is kinda funny. Their representation of stuff like panic attacks etc. is great in my opinion. I wish they could've just explored with Fear and Disgust more though rather than adding Anxiety and Envy.

To be honest I haven't thought about it that much till you said it and it did bother me now that you mentioned it. They really didn't explain anything. They only showed the parents having their own version of Anxiety, not the other ones. I think they showed it in the final trailer too and if I can recall, that scene only appeared during the start of the credits. I only remember the mom's emotions trying to calm down anxiety and tell her to go back and hide or something. Pretty much half-assed.

The premise of Inside Out will always be fricked since Riley, a human, is basically a non-character who only exists so the actual characters can exist and do things. Something about that just really bothers me and feels wrong. Like it makes sense in mecha animes, but not when the mecha is an actual human being. Especially a kid who doesn't fight or anything. With that said, the art is 11/10.

I thought it was a joke at first. She didn't have any scenes in a bathroom but there's a scene where she wears one of her old shirts and she's sad that she outgrown it and it looks like a crop top now lol. There are scenes in a locker room too but nothing about her changing that much. The high schoolers do get something though something that's still PG-13. Example: I remember one girl with a sports bra on and is putting on deodorant.

seriously the easiest way this could have all been managed is in the end, anxiety isn't redeemed and she gets sent to emotional jail or she gets weakened
she's still there, she's just not as powerful anymore and everyone knows that if she's kept at bay, she won't cause damage and become stronger
the actual best ending is that the new emotions just merge with the existing emotions, because overcoming and embracing those negative feelings is part of growing up, not just shoving them somewhere out of the way.
and it explains why the adults don't have them in the first movie better than just a half-assed retcon that they were there, just hidden away. BUT all this would also require greater characterization for the new emotions beyond just "we are also here."
