Yes but Louie's real life dad was an alcoholic piece of shit.

it's really fricked up that Louie Anderson made this show as a form of therapy and cope mechanism

Was Louie that popular with kids that they gave him a cartoon show?
He was a pretty good stand up from what I’ve seen anyway

It didn't matter. They just like to give comedians shows, including cartoons. Howie Mandel got Bobby's World. Roseanne actually had like two cartoons. It was just something they'd do. "Oh, this comedian is kinda funny, give them a show." And then the pilot episode would be their act worked into a story.

My favorite part of watching the show was Andy in his underwear. Just my type!

That one episode with the fish
    >Louie gets a pet fish
    >It grows up into a chungus
    >Andy threatens to eat it
    >One day Louie catches his dad cooking a fish. Thinks it's his and freaks out
    >In the ensuing fight, the fish is tossed out the window and into a lawnmower
    >"That was my lunch!"
    >"That was my best friend!"
    >Actually Louie's mom was just giving the fish a bath
They just don't make comedy like this anymore

Well it’s nice to read that Louie was able to make up with his father before he died. Wonder if that was before or after the cartoon show

He died 15 years before the show
