Other contenders are Jeff Smith's Bone, Michael T Gilbert on Elric, Dave Sim on Cerebus, Mark Evanier and Sergio Aragones' Groo, Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo, Vaughn Bode's Deadbone.
If you want to include manga, there's Berserk, Vinland Saga, Lone Wolf and Cub, Aqua Knight, maybe The Rose of Versailles counts.
I wouldn't even call it pulp except to the extent that all capeshit is. Bought the boxset expecting it to be a dumber, more horror-tinged LOEG or something and it's complete slop aside from the art, nothing really horrific or pulpy about it and it was clearly plotted as Mignola went along.

I'm reading this series right now and I like it a lot but Nord's art slips in quite a few issues imo. That first issue is gorgeous but it seems like he has a hard time keeping up with monthlies at times (which is understandable).
I almost want to chalk it up to the unique nature of Nord & Stewart's artwork in this series. I can't really think of too many other comics that forego inking entirely and instead opt for colors directly over penciled linework.
