No, because you call it "capeshit". If it was dead you wouldn't be seething like a pathetic homosexual so hard you had to make up an autistic word to describe it.
The reality is people aren't going to shitty movies. DC has a track record of awful movies and now so does Marvel. If someone drops a trailer for a superhero movie and it looks source accurate, has an interesting premise and isn't stuffed with political bullshit like raceswaps, people will turn up.
And westerns are never making a comeback, noir either fagaloon.
"Dead" but still the only moves 90% of the average audience will actually pay to see in the theater. Lol. There are some issues with MCU quality control (i.e. Feige needs to lay down more oversight), DC is regrouping with Gunn, and Sony's doing its own thing. Not everything is well-received, but that's how it has always been.
it's on its way out for sure, the success of mario, the last of us and twisted metal indicate that studios are finally moving on to other adaptations, and now the surprisingly good reception the one piece show got opened the floodgates for more anime adaptations. also, apparently wb started a new division to adapt into live action their popular CN shows
>and now the surprisingly good reception the one piece show got opened the floodgates for more anime adaptations.
Unless the "formula" changes, they will keep getting more and more diminished returns. Marvel seems adamant about staying the same (every Marvel movie looks and feels the same and the novelty has long wore off. Them putting out 1000 tv shows that carry this formula doesn't help either) and DC has tried just about everything with limited to no success (BvS did great because it was Batman and Superman, two of the arguably biggest superheroes of all time, not because it was a good movie; ZSJL was well received because it was a well made movie with an army of sycophants rallying behind it).
In my opinion, they should strive to make GOOD MOVIES, period, not Comic book movies. Joker is a good example of this. A movie that stands on its own without sharing a cinematic universe and was only preoccupied with putting out a good story. A good idea i think would be to make a super hero movie about an original IP, directed not by a commitee, but by a serious filmmaker trying to tell a good story. But no studio would be willing to gamble 40 million for a project that might or might not work.
But overall, i think the majority of people are eager to watch something else, akin to CBM, like anime adaptations or videogame adaptations.

Why are you guys delusional to think anime adaptations will be big? One Piece was on a streaming platform, not a big budget release
It's dwindling. Will become a smaller subgenre with less movies released and an increasingly smaller audience because it's now seen as boring and cringe by more and more people.

Basically. You used to be able to take literal whos and make them earn billion, but now you gotta pull heavy punches with Batmans and Spidermans to even be profitable
You know, every time I think about the “Death of Superman” storyline, I gain even more respect for what Zack Snyder did with the character. In the comics, Doomsday was a complete cypher, literally just a prop, a mindless, character vacuum of a bullet with only one purpose - to kill Superman. Clark would die to protect mankind? In the comics, of course he would. By the point of the “Death” arc, comics readers had been watching him do it for years for a world who loves him. In Snyder’s movie, he’s tied to both Clark’s past actions as well as Lex’s meddling. Clark faces him, this personification of his own doubts and fears, of his own guilt, still plagued with uncertainty, yet still finds the resolve to face him, not because of the good he’s seen out of mankind, but rather his own hopes of what we can become.
It is in every conceivable way a better, more emotionally resonant story.

99% of anime and it's adaptations bomb
>will be
They CAN be.
No they can't. Too weird for the general public. One Piece barely gets away with it by being on streaming and a pirate adventure.
>No they can't.
Oh ok then, pack it up everybody. Will you ever forgive my foolishness anon?

It's in a coma. If the next Avengers movie flops, then it dies.

Went out in a blaze of glory.
Patel
You what now?
>TFW this story was 30 years ago and got me into Superman comics.
It's pretty amusing that the Return saga got a bunch of shit when it was new, but it's considered amazing compared to what's current.
Yes, the moment it stopped appealing to straight chads it died

>Is capeshit dead?
Not while America still lives.
