Yeah I know, that's what they did with Hey Arnold Jungle Movie and it looked awful.
That Cuphead background is better but it still doesn't look as good as the backgrounds from the game.
Also inventing programs to mimic something that can already be done with real materials. I don't see the point of that.

Oh my god it's always the same Cinemaphile autistic bullshit. Please, understand the following: >THIS >IS >A FRICKING >BUSINESS
Most of animation comes out of the industry. The industry doesn't exist for the sake of art, it exists to make products for entertainment and get a profit from them.
Do you want animation for the sake of art? Look up stuff from art house productions, university projects, or just passion projects you can find out there. Once in a blue moon someone with the financial resources to make a feature length animation will greenlight an art project for the hell of it even if there is no profit.
Yeah, sometimes stuff with somewhat of an artistic edge will be financially successful, but do not count on that. Don't fricking expect that from the industry, that's moronic.

Calm down. I never demanded that the industry completely change to fit my taste, and I do get that it makes sense from a business perspective. None of that changes the fact that it's still saddening to see these changes take place. In a perfect world I would love to see everything made by hand, just like in the past, but I understand that's not the reality we live in.
With all that being said, animation made with real materials will always look better, and I will always have a love for the older cartoons because of that.

You’ve obviously never done client work.
Digital tools make things easier to edit and tweak. Timelines are incredibly short and digital tools make the difference between a full day an 15 minutes when something needs to be changed. With modern pipelines, things are being tweaked pretty much until the last possible second before shipping.

To hell with the bloody technocracy. Miyazaki was right about everything.
If you actually compare the show to the game you can see the difference while it's slight. Since the game was done traditionally outside of background colors.
Honestly we will reach the art singularity almost first. One day I can type in "Thirty minute episode of prince saving pretty princess, watercolor style, romantic comedy," but that's several decades off. If I were an artist, I CAN type "Blonde princess in pretty forest, oil painting," and use that and several other stills like it to storyboard shit and move my process along if I'm doing sometype of project. So, brave new world.

Doesn't story boarding require specific posing and composition and expressions? If you have to meticulously explain all that to an AI, wouldn't it still be easier to just draw it yourself? Is it even possible to explain all that to an AI without it reading your mind?
Most we know is he had something with netflix but it fell through because they wanted changes. Can't imagine he needs much, since EEnE was really the only time he had consistent animation work outside of commercials.
I'm not impressed by this greazeball wigger just because he made a show that was on TV when I was a kid. EEnE was trash for non creative/non imaginative kids. Why watch something with a cool premise when you could watch a bunch of kids playing outside when you could be playing outside? Pfff, that's the ticket.
Danny’s cool but I think he’s kind of a boomer stuck in his own ways, and that kinda prevents him from moving further in the industry. His dedication to cel animation and traditional means is admirable but simply won’t happen in today’s world.
On the other hand it’s based as frick for him to be like “I’m the creator and I’m not doing this unless we do it MY way” to these shit-ass networks. It should be more than enough proof that he knows what he’s doing considering he made one of the best cartoons of all time, all creators should be allowed to do their vision without being fricked with changes that some suit who’s never drawn in his life asks for
I think in general it's not the era that Ed Edd n Eddy was made in anymore, and this goes for most shows in that era. I thinks it's why a lot of the creators from back then seem to have dipped out or had issues behind the scenes. It's not the blank the check days when CN and Nick were throwing everything at the wall.
What is he even on about here, the designs in this movie are closer to the comic than any adaptation has ever been. It's certainly closer than the version with Raul Julia that everyone and their mom seems to love.
Like yeah the movie sucked but what a weird complaint to level at it.
probably just that it looks too sanitized now
like yeah they look more accurate but they don't have the same feeling and it didn't help the actual animation in the movie wasn't good
>Is he just too based for the modern industry?
Yes. The industry doesn't like masculine energy because it jeopardizes the shady managment. Jordan Perterson talks about this phenomenon in his new interview with JRE.
Pre-Internet I never got to see what he looked like until then. I didn’t think he would look like a chad.
I thought he would looked like just about any creative at that time.
What's that supposed to mean?
Trad animation purist.
But he switched to digital on EEnE.
He didn't want to.
Traditional, digital what’s the difference?
Animation is animation regardless, it’s a moving image.
Thank god. Even AI is just pixels on a screen. It sucks, but it’s still pixels.
Digital painting can't replicate the quality of real painted backrounds. Just look at that new Hey Arnold movie if you want proof of that.
>Digital painting can't replicate the quality of real painted backrounds
Now we are at a point where certain digital tools can replicate the texture of traditional materials.
You're still talking about the backgrounds right?
Yeah I know, that's what they did with Hey Arnold Jungle Movie and it looked awful.
That Cuphead background is better but it still doesn't look as good as the backgrounds from the game.

>Refused to work with Netflix after being asked to change shit
Absolutely.
>Rejected Netflix after they wouldn't let him make a cartoon his way.
>Hates modern Beanmouth shit.
Based
>Hates bean mouth shit
Source?
He shat on writer cartoons.
He was talking about shows like Family Guy that are written rather than drawn by cartoonists, are you this much of a moron
I don't know probably, he still hates modern cartoons.
He told some idiot to stop being moronic when he tried to post one of our shitpost beanmouth remake images on his DMs.
Jeez I respect Antonucci but who can look at that shit and NOT realize it's an intentional joke?
people born before 1990
It was but Cinemaphile is really stupid so a lot of people assumed Antonucci was doing an "OUR GUY" moment
Yes, he embodies effort which the modern industry despises
What's he doing these days?
Most we know is he had something with netflix but it fell through because they wanted changes. Can't imagine he needs much, since EEnE was really the only time he had consistent animation work outside of commercials.
> What's he doing these days?
By the looks of it, vaping monster energy drink and listening to SoundCloud rappers in his lifted pickup truck.
John K. but good
He's good end John K. Their lives are remarkably similar even down to the country they were born in and what college they went to (Sheridan)
>I applied to Sheridan 3 weeks ago
Wish me luck Anons
I hope you make it anon
remember me when years you're a famous cartoonist and people on a chinese comic strip forum shit on you for not making enough cartoons for them.
You'll never make it. You won't amount to anything, and whatever 'jokes' you could come up with children will never truly understand.
GOOD LUCK ANON!
>already trying to co-opt him
you're so quick to flip on Justin.
Where the frick have you been? /co has sucked Antonucci’s dick for so long that it’s got a permanent hickey on it.
Cinemaphile doesn't isn't co-opting Danny Antonucci. What does that even mean? The board loves the frick out of him, and always has.
Johnny Knoxville?
He looks like the lead singer of a rap rock band from the 2000s.
Glad I wasn't the only one that think that he dresses like it's still 2002.
I'm not impressed by this greazeball wigger just because he made a show that was on TV when I was a kid. EEnE was trash for non creative/non imaginative kids. What’s his thoughts on Wednesday?
Probably not that angry considering his issue was the animation assuming that screenshot is real.
What is he even on about here, the designs in this movie are closer to the comic than any adaptation has ever been. It's certainly closer than the version with Raul Julia that everyone and their mom seems to love.

>"make lupo the butcher pg-13"
>"frick you, i'm out"
obviously
i'm just glad he seems to be doing okay for himself, at least i assume he must be if he can afford to turn down projects like that
>Is he just too based for the modern industry?
Yes. The industry doesn't like masculine energy because it jeopardizes the shady managment. Jordan Perterson talks about this phenomenon in his new interview with JRE.
I dunno man, im not buying that masculinity has never been part of shady management
>listening to the "former" drug addict who became a meme when he lost his shit after Twitter wouldn't let him some bullshit
I'm not taking someone who had a sexual dream involving his grandmother and retells it in detail seriously.
Wasn't that a parody?
You're going to pay attention to a Kermit the Frog sounding leaf crackhead? It's your life, I guess.
yeah
