I actually agree with this basically, but ironically my favorite episode to this day is still season 7s “…and then there were frog”

S8 legitemately has the 2 best episodes of the entire series. "Frog-stop" and "Fly goes to Washington" are kino of the highest degree, but you sort of understand why they fired the director after that. It was a sort of Beautiful Dreamer situation-thing
S9 is legitemately garbage though. Can't believe they tried ripping off The Spinning Creature Show and expected no one to notice

the lore shit ultimately did not fricking matter even a little bit, and its a shame so much time, effort and budget was wasted on 3deep5me plots that really never really delivered on the hype. the show was at its best when it wasn't trying to be something else, or be more than it was.

I think season 51 is a new renaissance for the franchise, they added a lot of pathos to his character.
