I never hated Zoidberg. In fact I think if there's anyone at Planer Express everyone would constantly dump on, it'd be Bender. Really Zoid's worst crime is being a crappy doctor hired by a war buddy.
For as much as I love Bender, HE'S the one constantly stealing things and making fun of people.
>Really Zoid's worst crime is being a crappy doctor
He's ass at human biology. aliens he's great. it's basically being a tropical disease doctor outside of the tropics.
Nearly all of the Futurama cast has this certain level of aloof-ness that makes them loveable. It's a certain amount of innocence that you can't help but smile at. Zoidberg has the most of this, and he's the butt of a lot of jokes, so it gives him a huge amount of charm. Even Bender, for all his many flaws (contrary to his belief) is just a few years old, and his childish behavior is part of what makes his shitty behavior amusing instead of infuriating.
If I were to pick who is the least likeable character I'd pick Hermes. He really doesn't do very much, he's very plain compared to the others, and isn't the driving force in quite as many jokes.
Plus, due to that busybody nature of his, he lacks said aloofness.
Well he's also a racist to zoidberg in some way, and he's just this annoying ass guy, what with all that money shit he does and really his way of being some finiacl asswipe. I mean i would say i like seeing him get cucked and shit, but uh. Yeah.

Bender was always a unlikable dick to me in some way, it's mainly because of how irredeemable he slowly became and what not
Futurama is meant to be a show displaying the most redeemable and irredeemable aspects of mankind and beyond, but damnit I would be wrong if I said I didn't love this goof.
I didn't like how they turned him from a talented and capable doctor who just didn't understand humans in Season 1 to a complete moron who lives in a dumpster in Season 2.
they kept the quality of him being good with aliens but a moron with human anatomy. Working on earth was a major problem, especially in a human run company. I do think they could have played up his skills in other instances though.
there's a youth whirlpool in an episode or movie (i can't remember which) where as he's swirling around and the other characters are turning to babies, he transforms to different sea creatures' larval stages. its pretty hilarious

It has been brought to my attention that "aloof" does not mean what I previously thought it did.
Please pretend I said "silly" instead. Thank you.
What did you think it meant?
Carefree and happy.
It actually means emotionally distant, it really doesn't sound how it means.

Agreed he gets better every Xmas!
Was it a good idea to make him a competent doctor, but with only aliens, in the CC episode?
Sorta
I didn't like how they turned him from a talented and capable doctor who just didn't understand humans in Season 1 to a complete moron who lives in a dumpster in Season 2.

He was always endearing, I've never met anyone who hated zoidberg.
zoidberg and morbo have always been my favorite characters. they should have an episode together
>tfw you remember Zoidberg canonically is a 100+ years old virgin
Is he a crab or a lobster?
Neither
He's both according to the writers. They don't really specify a vast difference between crab or lobster.
A Decapodian.

He needs to have his own spinoff.
>zoidberg
>spinoff
MY NAME IS JOHN ZOIDBERG
AND I AM PROUD TO BE
Hopefully in the new Hulu season, we get to see Zoidberg's crab planet (and even his girlfriend from the scent episode).
When has Zoidburg ever not been endearing?
Zoidberg has always been endearing to me, I cannot even properly describe why
