It's difficult for me to judge because I read NCFOM before seeing the movie, so I knew what to expect. I have never read the book TWBB is based on, so it made a greater impact on me.
>I have never read the book TWBB is based on, so it made a greater impact on me.
i did its excellent
twbb took the best parts and transformed it into something entirely new
I really like the score personally. Unique but fits the movie so well. Sometimes abrasive, discordant always driving. I still have bits of it pop into my head now and then which is more than I can say about most movie scores
I just couldn't get into it, and I'm not a stupid man, I can appreciate all kinds of movies, but I just didn't get this or No Country for Old Men. Both movies were a fricking slog for me.
Whats so good about it? I watched it not too long ago, thought it was fine but nowhere near the level people itt are talking about. Is this a new meme I’m not aware of, Like pretending Nolan is a genius and such?
>Whats so good about it? >the writing >direction >cinematography >acting >production design >costumes >location scouts
it's an overwhelming success in every conceivable facet
and manages to be not only wildly entertaining but full of artistic merit
I don’t think the writing is that great, it’s not bad but it didn’t blow my mind, I agree on the direction, art and acting being very good, don’t know if the best ever but certainly good
Anyways I don’t think it’s “underrated”by any mean, it seems to have pretty good scores pretty much everywhere, around 8/10 average which I’d say is fair, if not a little overrated, but I guess Daniel day Lewis bumps it up a notch
No. Was better than No Country for Old Men as well.
Nah. Same same. The pacing allows indulgences in TWBB that are more atmospherically pleasing at the fair trade of content.
NCfOM is a great movie
TWBB is a masterpiece
If the distance between great and masterpiece is virtually nothing at all I'd agree.
old men is astonishing
twbb is essentially better than perfect
so yes we agree fren

>I have a competition in me. I want no one else to succeed. I hate most people. There are times when I look at people and I see nothing worth liking.
I can’t go on dealing…with all these…people.
Overacting, the movie
What was the deal with Daniel and the Man's daughter?
She's one of the few characters he shows genuine affection for. I wonder if it implies that he was beaten as a child too.
The acting was bad
Oscar winning performance m8. One of the greatest ever captured on film.
The acting was terrible
Too long. The score was annoying on occasion. I'd say yeah, very overrated. Boogie Nights was way better.

Sorry about your autism
Yes but it still filters most of Cinemaphile.
Yes. There was very, very, little blood. Fundamentally dishonest and fraudulent filmmaking.
2/10. At best.
this
so fricking much this
shame on you P.T. Anderson
No. Daniel Plainview was based as frick. Good on him for bowling pinning the life out of that Jesus gay Eli
lmao i'm pretty sure everybody enjoyed watching that false prophet get bludgeoned.
Yes, to the extent that there really wasn't that much blood I'd say that it was overrated.
Absolutely not. An amazing movie and daniel day-lewis is the best method actor alive today.
Nah it's one of the best movies ever made. Drinking your milk shake and all that.
where my OG "Classic™" homies at?
You looking to talk shit?
frick around gayboi
Mystery homies

No. Also, Daniel Day Lewis is probably the best living actor
