How? 90% of the show until ToP is literally just "bejita jobs and then goku finishes the arc". And in Top they just give some characters a bunch of senseless asspulls. You really are moronic if you think Super did something like this better than GT.

    Nope, it's pure kino.

GT was much better written, it had actual characters and story, not a bunch of memes and one-liners that lack any emotion or coherence. Goku in Super is a moronic manchild "hero" that goes through an absurdly rapid transformation between the arcs. In GT, Goku still acts like an adult with years upon years of battle experience and his relationship with his relatives, especially Pan, is natural and touching. In Super Goku, Vegeta, Gohan and Freezer are complete meme characters, nothing about them is remotely believable or human. And why doesn't anyone care about deaths anymore? Suddenly gods, even more godlike than all gods before can handily rewind time and even return characters from the dead? How fricking convenient. What a way to kill tension even further. GT had the balls to add serious consequences to the overuse of the titular deus ex machina, and not add more badly explained asspulls.

As for direction, Super is utterly incoherent, badly edited and full of logical problems. GT is a work of a group of people who genuinely had a point to make.

I feel neutral about the series overall, and honestly don't care about trolling or contrarianism. Here is my sincere ranking:

    1. "Dragon Ball GT"
    2. "Dragon Ball"
    3. "Dragon Ball Z"

Super isn't even a Dragon Ball series. It's a Marvel flick masquerading as one.

Look GT absolutely had soul, but i still wouldn't call it good, the only actually good things about it would be Baby, SSJ4 and the ending (also the IDEA of the shadow dragons, not the execution). Also a gripe i have with GT that i never hear anyone talking about is that the cast is old, always feels negative seeing characters you grow up with on their last legs eg. old man Krillin dying to super 17. Couldn't imagine unironically putting it above DB or DBZ. It shits on super, though thats not a high bar tbf.

That's one aspect that makes it good moron. Dragon Ball always moved forward, it never stagnated like the piece of shit that super is. If took a risk and made the world feel relatable. People grow up, relationships dissolve etc...

The "problem" with GT is that it was too smart. People don't want to see actual character development, drama and a beautifully constructed plot progression. No. People want to see "beam struggles xD" and "kamehameha xDDD". The fact that the characters were well-written and were developed made the drooling morons confused. They should just stick with MCU movies. It was too different for monkey brains to comprehend. That you could tell stories in the same universe but not use the same tropes was a unique concept lost on the majority of viewers.

Absolute fricking moronic take. Vegeta isn't beaten by Goku either. And Goku constantly needed to be bailed out, going as far as back as Piccolo Sr. It literally never was "everyone else keeps the villain at bay and waits for Goku to save the day"because Goku always loses, and people who "kept the villain at bay" need to step up. That aside, Vegeta keeps fricking everyone's shit up for half the Namek while Gohan, Krillin and Bulma are trying to survive on their own. The story is more than just the final hit being put on. GT is closer to the OG DB when Goku truly did vast majority of the job, but DB was balancing it by 4 different tournament arcs which gave other characters some time to shine.

Honestly one of the more disappointing things about GT to me was the fight choreography. Original Dragon Ball is full of tons of creative and engaging fights with characters that do a ton of wacky shit. DBZ was less interesting in that regard but there was still some neat martial arts-type choreography in there.

Most of GT's fights boil down to beam spam or five-second ATATATATA-spam. Every now and then someone will throw in a kick or a throw. Very boring
    Ssj4 is dope tho

GT starts off strong but then it seems that the creators lose interest in the hunt for the black star dragon balls and go from DB whimsical adventure to dumb DBZ fights (but with worse animation). It almost got good again when Earth was blowing up at the end of Baby Saga and they had to relocate but then they just wished it back so frick that. Building Android 17 in hell and him connecting with the original to open the doorway between hell and earth was dumb as shit as well.

Its not great; but its not nearly as bad as people claim.

    >Why do so many people seem to dislike it?

Its not Dragonball Z. Goku gets turned back into a kid and loses his super saiyan powers. The plot is more like the original Dragonball in that its mainly an adventure with the occasional fight as opposed to Dragonball Z which is all about the fights. The later seasons actually go back to being more like Dragonball Z with the focus more on giant fights and I think the series actually gets worse by doing so. It goes from being Dragonball in space to being Dragonball Z but with lamer villains.

GT has alot of hidden genius moments if u gays had any ability to understand underlying themes. The Tsufurujin revenge tension, Baby parasitically gaining control of Goku's loved ones, Vegeta swallowing his pre-teen envy of Goku's natural talents, which in turn made him become satisfied with himself, Pan's sexy dress and her mental development of growing up to her grandfather. And b4 anyone answers with "noncannon"... Nobody gives a shit. Goku is the protagonist, so naturally he will receive the most of screen time. The other characters got what fit their evolution at the end of Z. Don't forget characters like Yamcha and especially Tenshinhan have already been shown to go their own ways in times of peace in the past. They don't have to dickride around Goku all the time. It's how humans work which makes them relatable. And I haven't even mention how epic the villains were. Frick all of you, im gonna go fap to Pan now

Because it should have been Goten instead of Kid Goku. The indecision on if its trying to be an adventure show like Dragon Ball or be like DBZ. The power levels and transformations get even more moronic. Lots of the show has this weird late 90s edge to it. I loved fricking watching Dragon Ball and Z but this felt like neither.
