Ppl always say Mike Tyson would get rekt in this era because of how tall boxers are now but how does one explain this?

      Is it worth a watch?

      I'm on episode 6.
      It's good-ish so far.
The young cast are the weakest links easily.
      Great CGI.
      Frost monster is cool.

I did see a clip from one of the later episodes that actually brought me to tears so there is that.

    No. Save yourself.
    It's that bad.

I'll spoil you on a minor subplot and tell you the black girl actually stole from those she's running from. When they finally caught her, all they wanted was what she took back and to make sure she was ok; they even offered her a job back but she was still a crazy c**t to them. Why does this matter? Because the whole show she acted like the evil boogeymen were out to torture her to death because she knew too much or something.

And to be clear, the girl was just a thief and 100% in the wrong. She was just a spoiled eco-terrorist that thought 'they' were out to get her, 'they' being the ones that took in and cared for her mentally ill ass.

Every plot in the show is about equally bad except for the flashback story. I wish I was exaggerating.

There's like 30+ Godzilla movies, assuming you already watched those, and assuming you already watched the 2 animes, and the 2 cartoons, and you still want MORE Godzilla then I guess it's okay to watch but on the list of Godzilla stuff to watch it's on the very bottom.

good to put on a second monitor and forget about it while the stream of gibberish audio makes you focus more on your work.

I watched it for the monsters. safe to say it was a huge waste of time. Kurt russel and his son portraying the same character was interesting though but thats about it. Oh and lesbian Anna Sawai

If you want to watch insufferable characters checking all the boxes on the woke list and you don't give a shit about monsters/godzilla then knock yourself out.

No, not remotely. Just watch the 5 minute clip of all the godzilla scenes on Youtube and spare yourself sitting through the most insufferable characters since that Kong animated show. Or if you do decide that you just wanna see how bad it gets, have Minus 1 ready so you can remember what likeable humans look like afterwards.

Half is kind of an interesting period piece about the founding of Monarch, and the other half is a collection of some of the most annoying characters I've ever seen committed to the screen. Also, Godzilla's barely in it, and when he does, he doesn't really do anything. I bailed on episode 6 and never looked back, and I've been a Godzilla diehard for almost 30 years.

It starts out pretty cool, first few episodes. Then it dips hard in the middle, very hard imo. I didn't want to finish it and it took me awhile to come back to it but the last few episodes are pretty good.

Also to add, don't be fooled by the marketing and promotion stuff, Godzilla's not in the show a ton and it's not about him. As the show name implies, it's about Monarch and it's formation/history from the 1940's to current day.

What I don't get is why Randa's being treated like some kind of crackpot kook in Skull Island when there's a ton of documented proof of the existence of Titans, not to mention high-ranking witnesses.

Only way I can rationalize it is maybe not all members of the military know about Monarch so it took some convincing from his part. Yeah still kinda wonky though

When Skull Island was made they didn't have much of a backstory to the character. Happens all to often with prequels when characters and lore gets expanded on which causes inconsistencies.

Also don't be fooled by the marketing about the monsters, the ones you see in the trailer are all of them. And when they do show up, they don't last very long before they bow out. I think there's maybe 15-20 minutes of monster stuff, total, the rest is just a slog of unlikeable twats in the modern age or the flashbacks hard carrying the show.

maybe thats a problem for people who watch trailers, personally I tend to watch the first trailer/teaser then I'm out. whats the point if I know I'm going to watch it, but I know some people are different

This is literally me and I still haven't got the strength to go back and finish it. The whole thing is such a fricking slog.

if you're interested maybe some spoilers might help you finish
you find out on a mission to hollow earth, young shaw goes through a rift and when he gets rescued he finds out he jumped forward in time 20 yeas later, then he gets sent to live in house arrest for another 30 years until we see him in current day. That's why there's some off hand comment earlier in the show that shaw looks really young for his age

Not really. One of the few hard misses on the platform. Really disappointing cause I was looking forward to it.

Everything set in the present is pretty boring unless Kurt Russell is on screen to push the plot forward or reveal a bit more about Monarch. Anna Sawai is so shit at acting in this it was a constant reminder every time I saw her in Shogun. Same can be said for all of the 'young' present day protags.
The scenes to do with Monarchs early days were good. Was surprised by the Ders, Kurt's son and Mari; they had trio had good chemistry.

No. The entire modern part of the show is dogshit, and that's about half of the show. The past parts are alright. The Godzilla scenes are cool (all 5 minutes of them) but otherwise it goes to shit after episode 4 and never recovers.
