I was in a selective school, several peers went to oxford/cambridge, I was kicked out for having half a grade too little in one gcse, so they could fill the seats with third worlders that paid and had grades far lower than mine.
my family life became unstable at about 14 and things went down from there, didn't pin down exactly what did it but I stopped trying or bothering, it all felt like it was for nothing and I had no guidance.
ended up going to another sixth form that was poor/normal quality, was kicked out of that one 3 months in for missing a few classes, they didn't even contact my parents, just called me to the office one morning and told me to leave. I asked if I should finish the day and they said there isn't much point, so didn't say bye to anyone.
after that, nothing to do for 9 months and no future. tried a levels again at an even worse place the following september, the place was useless and one maths teacher was off ill for most of the year.
so no a levels, was so disillusioned I didn't want to go anywhere near a university anymore and rotted until nearly a wizard.
before everything went into the mire, I'd been top of the class in maths/latin in an already top selective school.

I've definitely leaned on academic credentialism in bar arguments, because its easier than trying to explain abstract concepts to drunk people.

I think as other people mentioned, its more about Damon and Affleck pretending theyre tough bostonians, rather than owning a fake pompous guy that doesn't exist.

Generally the first thing you realize in college is, that "this" is it.
    "These" are the smartest people.
The top 10% of the population.
And still nobody knows what the frick theyre doing or how anything works.
If you're a "smart" among the collegiates, you MIGHT have the opportunity to meet somebody ACTUALLY smart, as a dorm neighbor or a professor in an advanced class, but probably not, and you probably wouldn't like them or want to be around them either.

Being smart doesn't "suck", it just doesn't help anything.
Real power in the world, as is also commonly known, comes from connections and money.
    Being "smart" often feels impotent.
Firstly knowing the scope somewhat, of you can't or won't ever know or do.
Secondly recognizing how fricking moronic everybody and everything is.

Ai is about to render human labor as meaningless.
Whatever class mobility "being smart" afforded in the past, is gone.
    The middle class is gone.
The lower class hates you and wants to eat you.
The upper class is building their own ark and dont care about you.
    The flood waters are rising.

yes it isn't going to replace all the scientists and engineers in the world but it is most certainly going to replace a lot of paper pushers in the world

        >my take is i said something you don't like and now you're crying about it
I didn't read your post, I was using it as a learning lesson for newbies. Do you think a screenshot of Moot double-spacing means something? The way you formatted your post is akin to le reddit. Times change, rules change, norms change, and you reddit spaced.

you seem to know a lot about reddit bro

this is what i think you are doing is: i said something you don't want people knowing so you are trying to discredit by claiming i'm a plebbitor because i formatted my post in a certain way and therefore it's contents should be discarded

where as you did not discredit the idea's in the post, the substance of the argument

you are disingenuous and arguing in bad faith

what i'm saying is you are a pretending to be a gatekeeper but you're really just a fed

              >by claiming i'm a plebbitor because i formatted my post in a certain way
I don't think you're a redditor btw I just wanted to use your weird post format as an example kek, but you're actually a schizo and think I read and care about your post. pretty funny to me.

think about elon's brain chip thing always monitoring your vitals right
they'll say it's so if your vitals reach dangerous levels they'll immediately send medical aid to you because of the in built gps or whatever

but what it's really for is so if you don't follow the strict diet and exercise then you lose privileges like access to certain food or diet while you are in the open air prison (technocratic panopticon)

then if you don't improve your health you'll be forced to exercise and eat certain foods

if you still don't cooperate they will just kill you and use your body to produce energy

they don't kill people in the matrix they keep them alive in some sort of metaverse

It's not about college per se. It's common for 20somethings who are in higher education and are finally feeling independent to be obnoxious know-it-alls.

This movie is fricking dumb, he tells Sean, who is supposed to be a genius, to read Howard Zinn, only libtards with surface level knowledge find him impressive

    >I work for a law firm
    >know a dumbass who is "street smart" and "self taught"
    >he can't stand college boys yet he hung around with us all the time
    >asks me what my latest case was
    >some bullshit about a guy who signed a contract for a cellphone and didn't pay in time so he now had to pay penalties
    >he says he would get him off easy
    >I ask him how
    >simple my man... insanity plea
    >I tell him those are notoriously hard to prove
    >he goes "prove he wasn't insane" because "we didn't test his sanity during the signing"
    >I give up and say he has won
    >he gets all excited and smug
    >when he left everyone at the table imitated him like he was forrest gump

It's like he is genuinely moronic. The man was protected from bullying in school and he desperately needed a good bully.
