Revenge of the Sith is the best Star Wars film

Revenge of the Sith is shit. It's the most contrived and tone deaf of the prequels, and that's saying something. RLM mocked the battle droids for being useless, but the Jedi being useless is 100x worse. They are so underpowered and pointless. Zero soul.

Yes. That's when he started getting more concerned with selling toys. I wonder what people would think of it if it didn't have that last half hour or whatever.

      >Is it the weakest of a set of three movies
Yes, but it's still stronger than 1-3 or 7-9

It was directed by a guy who mostly only done TV, he's arguably the worst director of the original trilogy, with the first being directed by Lucas (not well, but the editor won an Oscar for creating something perfect from it), and the second from Lucas's old teacher. The third director they just got because he was cheap, he wasn't even their first choice.

      >7 > 8 > 3

You're on drugs. 7 drops multiple slots for killing an OG character for zero reason.

Lucas directed a lot of RotJ too. He might as well been credited as co director.

Not true. They got him because he wasn't a member of the Director's Guild, which Lucas had an open feud with and resigned his membership. They couldn't get a Guild Director, due to Union rules.

3po has a red arm in Episode 7, not Jedi.
Alec Guinness has a cameo on Dagobagh.

I basically consider ESB+ROJ as one two-part movie. ESB+ROJ is almost as good as the original Star Wars movie. But ROJ trying to stand on its own is definitely the weakest of the three movies. ROJ's biggest problem is that it feels like situations which are supposed to be dire get resolved too easily. The movie would have been better if a main character from the good guy gang died or something.

Maybe. It probably has the lowest lows, but also the highest highs in the throne room.

ROTJ is like 20-30 minutes of a great movie with 90 minutes of a total dogshit one.

during star wars and empire Lucas has enough people to tell him no that he didn't go off the rails. by jedi he was full toy selling mode and that contributed to the parts that people don't like because jedi has some really good stuff. The prequels are what happened when lucas was surrounded by yesmen

I once read that an early version of the script had the 2nd death star being built by wookie slaves instead of over Endor. Now THOSE are furry creatures I believe could defeat stormtroopers in a slave uprising. If they'd have done that story I legit think it would be 2nd best star wars movie. Everything else was great, loved Jabba, loved Palpatine, more original Yoda, comfy Harrison Ford, comfy Lando, loved slave Leia. Women in the slave outfit is still a big fetish for me.

Not really, it was pretty kino. The last lightsaber duel was one of the best scenes in all of star wars. The weakest was episode 4 but really it wasn't even that bad, just kind of cheesy

I just realized that Ewoks are essentially first generation Minions. Same concept really, small annoying “cute” things thrown into a popular film to sell toys and attract children and soft people

It is, but it's like comparing SMB1, 2 and 3. They are all so close to a 10/10 you're splitting wiener hairs.

It has by far the best space battle scenes of any movie. It has an awesome intro with Jabba the hut and Slave Leia that stands alone like an amazing short movie by itself. The Ewoks never bothered me, but the speeder scenes and infiltration with Han being Han makes up for any shortcomings. The emotional impact of the final scene where Vader redeems himself could almost make you cry. So damn well done.
    Frick the prequels.
    Frick the equals.
Star Wars movies ended with this movie.
