Is the "female counterpart" cartoon character archetype dead?

Is the "female counterpart" cartoon character archetype dead? Most female characters these days seem to be conceived and designed as their own character as opposed to taking a the character design of a male main character and making it feminine.

That's a good thing. I don't want to fap to a female character knowing that they're just a recolor of the male MC with boobs.

Sometimes a male character looks like such a twink that I want a girl version so fapping to her isn't weird.

I haven't seen much of that archetype for a while now.

Nah, the whole "cousins" thing is what Hawaiians call each other as a community or something. And this

The most recent blatant example I can think of is Light Fury from How to Train Your Dragon.

Existing female counterpart characters like Smurfette, Lola Bunny or Amy Rose have also been given more character depth and personality than "is a girl".

They kind of had to in Smurfette's case since they introduced an entire village of other female smurfs.

It's a shame that Space Jam 2 reverted Lola back to her original bland personality instead of using her actually looney character from the Looney Tunes Show.

Her character in that show was peak.

The greatest bit of wish fulfillment would be having her personality for the Looney Tunes Show along with her design from Space Jam 1

That's okay, because they gave us Lola where she is neither sexy nor have any personality.

TLTS Lola doesn't have a personality- she just does whatever seems most annoying and crazy at the moment (like not understanding that Bugs is crossdressing, even though he outright tells her and needs her help for the act). There is no reason for her actions beyond that. She is walking joke, much like the original Lola was a walking "statement" (about girls being just as good or better than boys).

Sort of. They stopped being counterparts and became replacements, less like actual characters and more like a stereotypical version of the original male character, but with a vegana.

    Angel a cute though.

Having an equal counterpart is not allowed as women are men but better now. Also, you can't have a relationship that neatly aligns and is a fated bond because female attention is something you have to suffer endlessly to achieve and are not "owed" it by merely having good chemistry. To say otherwise would limit women's options.
