Yeah it's funny. It merges a lot of the stories and glosses over more of Sterns controversial stuff like black face and all that but as a movie about his life its pretty good and Paul Giomanti is great
They skipped over most of what made the show funny, like the relentless shitting on Gary, or his early stunts like going after that other DJ, or going to a press conference for a Puerto Rican politician with signs that said "Give our hubcaps back!". The book is sanitized to an extent, but the movie might as well be fiction.
Yeah the divorce started bc his wife found the list of things he needed in his trailer which included condoms. Then he blamed it on Ralph his assistant. He then pathetically and very unsuccessfully lies about it live on the show, it's really not even close to believable...good for his wife leaving him. There used to be clips of it on youtube of him trying to explain his way out of it.

Here is the clip of Howie trying to explain live on air why he would have condoms in his trailer right after his wife found out:
Yeah Ralph was sharing hotel rooms with John Stamos and Rebecca Romegn and staying at Sam Simons mansion. No doubt that Howard and Ralph are gay together especially when you hear the lie detector episode when they ask ralph if hes gay and Howard is clearly so fricking nervous and acting so odd the whole time. Then Ralph had the most deceptive results that Ed Torian had ever seen.
I checked out when ETM died in 2014. Ralph must still be involved. What else would he do for $? And he knows too much about Howard for Howard to just cut him loose like Scott or KC.
Your not wrong there. I really started to notice the fall when tried to walk back making fun of Lena Dunham a few years back. But I dropped about 2017 when it turned into like 3x shows a week.
But really looking back on it? 2007-2009 were the best with Artie, Bubba, and the experimental shows at night. When they fired Artie was really the beginning of the end.
Stern is just a c**t today, and really salty than the podcasts that he used to mock have taken over his world. He's turned into fricking Imus.
Oddly enough he would be instantly relevant again if he became old Stern. The Stern that called for the bombing of Middle Eastern countries. The Stern that supported Republicans in NY and NJ. The Stern that called out celebs on their bullshit and feuded with them for decades.
Artie's time on the show was NOTHING like the old days before he really blew up, and the TV show, and the Billy West era.
The show died for me when Jackie left. I knew Robin would get insufferable without him around, and she did. Then Stern got into that incest shit, and I was done. Luckily around that time O&A went free on XM, and Stern was replaced. Quickly.
>Eh. It’s started off decent but ends up pretty much just being Howard bragging about himself
Actually it was mostly Howard bragging about his wife and how great she is, and how beautiful she is, and how she was the most important person in his life and always will be....
Of course they got divorced 2 years later and Howard instantly had a trophy blonde gf.
It’s probably only really accessible if you’re a long time Stern fan. I don’t think pulling someone off the street and putting this movie on for them they’re likely to laugh their ass. Also the wack pack now just seems really depressing. Even high pitch eric isn't that funny anymore, amazing him and jeff are still alive.
it really depends on when you first started listening to the show
for me, it was when billy west, jackie, and stuttering john were all still there - the golden age

He got a great fricking interview out of McCartney, and got a fascinating interview out of Rose McGowen about her being raised in a cult, long before she went batshit crazy.
But the comedy was mostly Jackie. When you heard him hooting in the background, you knew shit was about to go down. He was the main shitstirrer who made a lot of the classic bits happen.
I've just never understood, Jackie was brilliant as Howard's writer, but his standup is the worst shit you can imagine. But he could take ball busting as good as he gave.
It still amazes me they replaced him with that worthless sack of shit Benji.
You know in retrospect maybe walking away from an $80,000 a month job where you write fart jokes and look at strippers was a bad decision on Jackie's part.
The show suffered more than Jackie did. And Jackie has said that leaving the show did him some good. He quit drinking and was able to get some sleep. His b***h wife Nancy also left him because he was no longer famous, so that's a big plus right there.

The ETM saga, Riley Martin, and Elegant Elliot are my faaaaaaavorite. And the tradio calls. Its amazing how you have to start digging to get all the constant inside jokes and references but the more u listen the more you understand and it just makes it funnier and funnier. Look up this stuff if you're looking for Stern gold >Jackie and his 5 dumpy houses >Iron Shiek interviews >The Jesus Twins (the most obnoxious but funny guys you'll ever see) >Beetlejuice >any homeless games or Hollyweird Squares >Grillo stuff >Scott the Engineer stuff

Listened to all that...so much that I find it hard now to find anything that I havent listened to bc I downloaded all the Todd Packer archives. Now I find links to full old shows once in a while from the Artie years and listen to those and there's sometimes something new. Its like the most entertaining reality soap opera of fricked up people but you have to listen for a while before you start to "get it". Prefer Artie but Jokeman was great not bc he was funny but he was such a hack and so easy to goof on.

Modern HSS would not have happened if Artie was still there. I believe that Howard cares for Artie, but he knew that Artie was the last of the crew that would ever give him shit (see the infamous "bro fight" or call him a gay). He needed Artie gone so he could build the modern HSS.

Domic after a quick Google search. Ouch.
2012 Dominic was arrested after allegedly stalking his ex-wife and allegedly trying to extort her out of $200,000. Dominic later revealed that he was homeless, deep in debt, had a drinking problem and painkiller addiction. It was a shocking fall for a guy who once sported $1,000 suits and drove a Bentley. He had apparently been reduced to sleeping on a friend's couch despite legally owning a multi-million dollar waterfront mansion. When his court date came, Dominic represented himself against charges of fourth degree grand larceny, fourth degree stalking and second degree aggravated harassment. He was arrested three times that year.
In 2011 Dominic's law license was suspended after he allegedly failed to refund clients over bad charges.
In 2018, the New York town of Shelter Island was forced to board up a waterfront home owned by Barbara. The home, which Barbara had owned since 1988 had reportedly fallen into such a state of disrepair that it had become both a safety hazard and a major eyesore to neighbors. The New York State Property Maintenance division had deemed the home – which could be worth several million dollars – as unfit for humans.

>Also does anyone know what happened to Dominic Barbera?
He popped up for a brief minute with the Michael Cohen/Trump story, after Trump got elected. I think his law license was suspended, and he's just scraping a living up, somehow. He's gotta be in his 70s now, he wasn't young when he was on the Stern show.

The Nancy stuff was always great. There was one where she had Jackie pay money to build her a recording studio, but then her and her band paid to use another recording studio to make their album. And her band name kept changing. It went from "All Folked Up" to "Spinning Plates" to "Big Orange Marble". She was fricking nuts.
A lot of it was fake and Eric even alluded to it many times. When people would call up and say what a ungrateful piece of shit he was being, if he got angry enough he would often say he was acting or it was Johnny’s idea which Howard would quickly ignore. There was a lot that was real too but I’m gonna assume any call that involved Johnny was a set up.
>if he got angry enough he would often say he was acting
He's confusing "acting" with "being different when on the air". Howard used to say to Jackie "you're so much more interesting off the air, but when you're on the air you put on this fake persona". So yeah Eric would get madder at people over the phone than he would in a real life situation. And even though I bet a lot of those ideas were Johnny's, Eric went along with them.
Pre-Johnny Eric was just as crazy. He stalked Diana Degarmo, he tried to get a CD to Carrie Underwood for some 12 year old country singer that Eric was "managing", and he also tried to get Ryan Seacrest not to do the Stern show because of the "vote for Sanjaya" campaign.
How did stern never get metoo'd... As a kid I recall all the making daughters get naked infront of fathers and having chicks sit on sex toys.... But it all seems wiped from the Internet
>As a kid I recall all the making daughters
He never made anyone do anything. Stern's show was one of the few places where women could go an flaunt there bodies in order to sell other projects.
Howard had some weird borderline incest bits where Fathers would undress their daughters and I think a porn star mom made out with her daughter but they all have to sign release forms in order to do this so it was all consensual and they got paid for it so legally there's nothing "wrong" there but morally it was pretty borderline
Because he’s a leftist israelite. Bald homosexual shit on Norm for defending Louis CK for doing a fraction of the “sexual harassment” he used to do on his unfunny show
I really enjoyed it in 1997 when I was in middle school.
My dad also had an unlabeled VHS in his dresser that was a bootleg of one of Howard Stern's paid specials, starting with his taking a shit in a toilet on stage or something. It had some topless chicks and tons of toilet humor. Pretty fricking happy when I found that.
I hate this piece of shit more than life itself >lmfao homeless moronic people and rape is funny
*years later* >WOW I CHANGED NOW I AM GONNA LECTURE PEOPLE BUT ALSO PRETEND TO STILL BE AGGRESSIVE

No, I don't remember John interviewing a black baseball player. I remember Ted Williams, Tommy LaSorda (manager), and some Yankees (Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera)
>is one of his kids really trans?
He is constantly playing the victim on his terrible podcast saying people hate on his trans kids but...they dont. Supposedly both his kids are
He has no self-awareness and has become a pathetic lying gross drunk. I like to listen to the podcast where they dissect and make fun of his podcast because its so terrible and John is such a lying buffoon.
Ah, the Pelican Brief.
For those not in the know....the infamous "Bro Fight" where Artie called howard a "Geeky looking pelican" so people named Howards lecture to his staff "The Pelican Brief"
>Jay Leno was mad at Howard so he took he stuttering whipping boy and gave a him a cushy announcing job.
Hiring a stutterer to do announcing for your #1 late night show... Leno is a nutcase for doing this.
PAMELER ANDERSON
>Would Artie have even been any good if he made it to modern HSS?
Modern HSS would not have happened if Artie was still there. I believe that Howard cares for Artie, but he knew that Artie was the last of the crew that would ever give him shit (see the infamous "bro fight" or call him a gay). He needed Artie gone so he could build the modern HSS.
Does anyone know anything about the NEW Stern characters like Brent, Mehmet, Steve Brandano, or that new CEO of the show Marcy? I see their names mentioned sometimes but I have no desire to check them out.
Brent is gone. Mehmet has been MIA but was pretty funny as the resident conservative voice.
I think Steve and Marcy are behinds the scene people.
Shuli was pretty good but is no longer on the show either.
All of the new regulars are a major downgrade. Some gay dude named Chris, Jason, etc... they are all ultra liberal "yes" men. No one on the show offers a differing opinion anymore.
Sal and Richard still get phony phone calls but dont hear them much on the air anymore.
I havent listened regularly in like a year. Seems like every time I turn it on Howard is interviewing some celebrity and asking the same questions or b***hing about Republicans.
I'd LOVE to know how much viewership has gone down. I'm a longtime fan and I only get a few minutes into the show before I have to turn it off. People listen to Howard for entertainment, not to hear b***hing about how every bad thing in the world is the republican's fault. frick!
I forgot which podcast might have been arties but he would get laid every single night from stern fans, fricked Mrs. Howard Stern Andrea and on the road with Artie would plow every night he had it made too bad he was one bad comment from Howard from snapping and killing him
I have a BEEF! Riiiight?? Thats GANGSTER TALK!!!
Can't have a stern thread without the PERFECT! The Beautiful! The sensuous! The man himself! The ELEGANT ONE!!! RIiight?!! You look like the last shit I took you chlamydia victim!!
The man who left Joe Corso for DEAD!! Riiight??
Credit where it's due- he was the best to do it from the early 90's to mid 2010's. He's laughably out of touch, irrelevant, unfunny and hypocritical these days though.
after Private Parts came out, they tried to bring Howard Stern to Detroit radio. the new station, 97.1 K-Rock, ran bumpers that trashed the biggest Detroit rock station, WRIF and its morning show, Drew & Mike. K-Rock and Stern lasted maybe a year and a half in the Detroit market, then switched formats to sports talk.
people trash Detroit, but I'm proud of this place for rejecting Howard Stern in favor of the home-grown Drew & Mike Show, which is still great.
Yeah it's funny. It merges a lot of the stories and glosses over more of Sterns controversial stuff like black face and all that but as a movie about his life its pretty good and Paul Giomanti is great
>Paul Giomanti is great

>I did it all for Allison, hoo hoo
Didja, Howard?
Meh, it's ok. If you're really want to early Stern show history read the "Private Parts" book.
It's an incredible boring, unfunny, and ultimately forgettable movie that straight up lies about Howard's past. Stick to old HTV clips.
Wasn't he cheating on his wife while filming? lol
Yeah the divorce started bc his wife found the list of things he needed in his trailer which included condoms. Then he blamed it on Ralph his assistant. He then pathetically and very unsuccessfully lies about it live on the show, it's really not even close to believable...good for his wife leaving him. Who do you think he was fricking? Probably no Mary McCormack.
Here is the clip of Howie trying to explain live on air why he would have condoms in his trailer right after his wife found out:
I'm 100% sure him and Ralph were Bi
Howard definitely got oral from Ralph and pimped him out to other executives
Yeah Ralph was sharing hotel rooms with John Stamos and Rebecca Romegn and staying at Sam Simons mansion. No doubt that Howard and Ralph are gay together especially when you hear the lie detector episode when they ask ralph if hes gay and Howard is clearly so fricking nervous and acting so odd the whole time. Then Ralph had the most deceptive results that Ed Torian had ever seen.
This is why Ralph still has a job. He will take the fall for Howard whenever it's necessary.
It's literally Howard Stern wank material, I don't see how anyone but Stern would find it amusing.
it's pretty good yeah
Keep in mind that berry faced gay Ralph puts Howard in these ridiculous outfits.
is ralph still involved? lol i haven't listened to the show in years (like since artie was around)

Look up this stuff if you're looking for Stern gold
>Jackie and his 5 dumpy houses
>Iron Shiek interviews
>The Jesus Twins (the most obnoxious but funny guys you'll ever see)
>Beetlejuice
>any homeless games or Hollyweird Squares
>Grillo stuff
>Scott the Engineer stuff
Listened to all that...so much that I find it hard now to find anything that I havent listened to bc I downloaded all the Todd Packer archives. Now I find links to full old shows once in a while from the Artie years and listen to those and there's sometimes something new. Its like the most entertaining reality soap opera of fricked up people but you have to listen for a while before you start to "get it". Prefer Artie but Jokeman was great not bc he was funny but he was such a hack and so easy to goof on.
this shit still cracks me up all these years later
The News has never been with the same without Jackie's laugh. And it was never better than when Billy was doing it.
>Grillo stuff
when he asked jodie foster, in his very first question ever as an entertainment interviewer, what she thought of john hinckley shooting ronald reagan to impress her... almost had an aneurysm
?t=93
not everyone knows this but high pitch eric also made a very small appearance in the sopranos
?t=109
yeah the second you take away artie's laugh and george's laugh the show becomes way less funny
?t=48
?t=61
>The Jesus Twins (the most obnoxious but funny guys you'll ever see)
if was sad and scary what happened to the one that got killed, his last appearance when he attacked melrose larry was freaky
Also to add:
>richard simmons
>OJ simpson saga
>Mark Harris
>Billy west ( I can't believe some of the shit he came up with was allowed on the radio)
>Daniel carver
Also does anyone know what happened to Dominic Barbera?
Dogpiling Gary, how could you even leave that out? Like the day they painted him, they busted his balls from every conceivable angle. The Gary saga is some of the funniest shit they ever did.
One of my favorite Jackie lines was about his wifes CDs
>Howard: "Jackie was recording an album a joint decision?"
>Jackie: "yeah I had a couple"
How about when Howard asked Nancy about their 10th or so dumb new corporation
"What was the gross last year?"
"Pretty gross" -Jackie
Whenever they would go over to Jackie's house for his white trash bbqs Nancy would have books in the bathroom in the vein of "How to Live with an Alcoholic" or "Dealing with your Alcoholic Spouse".
ACK
>zero point zero
>Last ever acting credit was Brickleberry
Ooof
Bald homosexual shit on Norm for defending Louis CK for doing a fraction of the “sexual harassment” he used to do on his unfunny show
Pay me what I'm worth! ya cheap israelite bastard! In the bareknuckle ring I used to whoop muthafrickas asses that looked like you!
I was genuinely sad when Riley died. I used to listen to his midnight shows which always made me smile.
Are you me anon?
If you grew up with those experiences then you're definitely not a homosexual and probably doing quite well for yourself
who me?
just listen to the call in where the guy talks about murdering prostitutes then never listen to stern again
I hate this piece of shit more than life itself
>lmfao homeless moronic people and rape is funny
*years later*
>WOW I CHANGED NOW I AM GONNA LECTURE PEOPLE BUT ALSO PRETEND TO STILL BE AGGRESSIVE
Yeah pretty much. It doesn't help that he hasn't actually changed one bit, he's just lazy.
I've listened to 1990-2009 Stern archives
Might be my favorite entertainment of all time. Movie kinda shit though
Not anymore when you consider how much of a gay he ended up
One of the best things is seeing Stuttering Johns life being terrible. A bankrupt drunk who doesn't see his own troony kids
>One of the best things is seeing Stuttering Johns life being terrible. A bankrupt drunk who doesn't see his own troony kids
I read recently that he failed as a real estate agent and is now working as a substitute teacher (nothing wrong with either of those things, but he was such an arrogant douchebag and he somehow blew through the $500k he was making for 10 years with Leno)
>those liver spots
Alcohol has really fricked him up.
Holy frickin shit...I hope thats a filter

"comedian"
Did..yo..yo..you ever *cough* fart in the catcher's face?
all the time, man, all the time!
>all the time, man, all the time!
That's not what happened. He asked that question to Ted Williams who told him to get out and "see ya later!"
i could have sworn it was someone like Hank Aaron or some other black ballplayer who answered that way but it's been a long time
>i could have sworn it was someone like Hank Aaron or some other black ballplayer who answered that way but it's been a long time
No, I don't remember John interviewing a black baseball player. I remember Ted Williams, Tommy LaSorda (manager), and some Yankees (Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera)

I know he broke up with Suzanner and she married someone else. But is one of his kids really trans?
>is one of his kids really trans?
He is constantly playing the victim on his terrible podcast saying people hate on his trans kids but...they dont. Supposedly both his kids are
yeah
RU-RU-RU-RU-RU-RU-RUSS MENEVE
He has no self-awareness and has become a pathetic lying gross drunk. I like to listen to the podcast where they dissect and make fun of his podcast because its so terrible and John is such a lying buffoon.
Isn't he a substitute teacher now?
This right here was really eye opening. Howard really became everything he used to rail against.
Ah, the Pelican Brief.
For those not in the know....the infamous "Bro Fight" where Artie called howard a "Geeky looking pelican" so people named Howards lecture to his staff "The Pelican Brief"
Artie boy! Let's get some coke
Other than the nose he looks better than ever. Can't he get his nose fixed?
He said on the Rogan podcast he keeps it as a reminder not to frick up again.
>He said on the Rogan podcast he keeps it as a reminder not to frick up again.
That's a good reason. God Bless Artie.
Ya honestly he looks pretty damn healthy for a guy who would give Bam Margera a run for his self destructive money
all time bit
Jay Leno was mad at Howard so he took he stuttering whipping boy and gave a him a cushy announcing job.
>Hero of the stupid
>Jay Leno was mad at Howard so he took he stuttering whipping boy and gave a him a cushy announcing job.
Hiring a stutterer to do announcing for your #1 late night show... Leno is a nutcase for doing this.
PAMELER ANDERSON
Yep, and it worked. Howard seethes to this day about Jay. How dare he fight back when being mocked for no reason?
Would Artie have even been any good if he made it to modern HSS?
>Would Artie have even been any good if he made it to modern HSS?
Modern HSS would not have happened if Artie was still there. I believe that Howard cares for Artie, but he knew that Artie was the last of the crew that would ever give him shit (see the infamous "bro fight" or call him a gay). He needed Artie gone so he could build the modern HSS.
mon dey la
A-boog wee adah dah. A-yah gay moo. A moogie woogayo
the good old days commuting to work listening to arty stern and then driving home to tom leykis
People listen to Howard for entertainment, not to hear b***hing about how every bad thing in the world is the republican's fault. frick!
KC was one of the best show staff, his battering average for his time on the show is crazy
He really rose quickly to an on air character. The dude was legit psycho and closeted homo.
Riiight??
"LETS GET DOWN TO BRASS TAXES"
Elliott is so great. Sad got banned from Sirius when he punched the wall.
Even though her breasts looked ridiculous back then, this movie features Jenna Jameson without tons of make up ruining her face. Good shit
she was so hot
Why did Beetlejuice hate Gilbert Gottfried so much? Beetlejuice even looks like he’s going to cry at one point
Starts around 16:30
beet was wise in the ways of the nose goblins
i just remembered gilbert gottfried ROASTING seinfeld by leaving him messages on his answering machine
for me, it’s hank
Bro of course we can't forget Hank! Him doing rock n roll trivia against Gary is my fav Hank bit
I really loved that little midget. His whole makeover bit was one of the funniest things I’ve seen from the show.
Hank was a chaotic genius bastard. RIP wee man.
I'm an Ian the drunk man myself.
Is Stern still a thing? I'm not American but I remember a lot of my American friends talking him up so big like 2 decades ago and meeeh, he was ok
Credit where it's due- he was the best to do it from the early 90's to mid 2010's. He's laughably out of touch, irrelevant, unfunny and hypocritical these days though.
Jackie>Artie
Opie won.

after Private Parts came out, they tried to bring Howard Stern to Detroit radio. the new station, 97.1 K-Rock, ran bumpers that trashed the biggest Detroit rock station, WRIF and its morning show, Drew & Mike. K-Rock and Stern lasted maybe a year and a half in the Detroit market, then switched formats to sports talk.
people trash Detroit, but I'm proud of this place for rejecting Howard Stern in favor of the home-grown Drew & Mike Show, which is still great.
Stern was a cartoon character they desperately tried to push nationally...and it failed miserably.
He was only ever popular to northerners and people trying to cash in on the pseud "shock jock" stuff.
Though the 3rd moronic Hansen Brother was amusing briefly.
