I think it ultimately came down to Watterson caving after realizing it was too widely distributed to bother cracking down on.

there is no other merch available and the character is popular enough. Billy seems to think refusing to sell stickers makes him have integrity or some nonsense.

      >Claims to hate commercialization
      >Releases these bumper stickers
Is Watterson the biggest hypocrite to ever live?

if any of you morons think for a second that Watterson drew this or profited of it in any way, you are much too moronic to keep wasting oxygen for the rest of us, so please stop.

The frick are you talking about you reactionary tard? I said he allowed the bootleg to continue being sold because it was already too widely distributed to crack down on. I never said he drew it, and acknowledging that it's a bootleg comes with the implication that he didn't profit off of it either. He basically just threw his hands in the air and went about his business. Maybe work on your reading comprehension a bit before acting like a chode.

I NEVER SAID IT WAS HIS FAULT! There is no "Fault" in this situation. What the frick is wrong with you? Why are you trying to turn a simple statement of reality into some kind of shitty high school debate. He CHOSE to not go out of his way to stop it because he realized it would be more trouble than it was worth. That's it. Now have a nice day you pile of homosexualshit.

That and you can't hold retailers responsible for selling bootleg goods for some fricked-up reason.

Watterson never drew this image. It is not Calvin. It's some knockoff shit that never should have been made, but got popular because manchild homosexual morons like pissing on Ford logos or some shit.

No, this is not C&H's greatest legacy, because it isn't fricking C&H.

Growing up as a kid and seeing these stickers on trucks (it was always trucks) was always so weirdly uncomfortable. Dudes out here putting a sticker of a kid with his pants down on their truck?

Wish I could go back and ask one "mister, why do you have a naked kid on your truck... are you a pedophile?"

It was a different time, anon. A boy showing his butt or underwear was simply considered innocent comedy. Girls doing the same was still unacceptable though.

In a cartoon itself, but 10 year old me was never comfortable walking by these full grown adults with kiddy ass stickered to their trucks that were twice my size.

And getting older only made it worse since I then knew who calvin and hobes were. Frickers out here putting stickers of winnie the pooh humping a honey pot on their car. It was the 90's version of trucknuts. Incredibly embarrassing to everyone but the weirdo's putting it on their vehicles.

I adore Calvin and Hobbes, I even have the giant hardcover complete library. I hate that "Calvin Pissing" is the most known "creation" of the franchise but I respect Bill for not being a giant copyright israelite and just letting it go.
