Whenever you complete your favorite characters' hero card, the game will go downhill from there.
I sure don't want to play as Black Widow, Hulk, and Miss Marvel. Their challenges suck.
The main campaign is decent, and the core combat mechanics are solid. Cap's shield play is pretty fun. But because it is also a looter, most characters don't feel quite right until you've hit max level and gotten some good gear. Fortunately they've made it easier to get there with more ways to get loot. Also the multiplayer is still buggy.
If it has a good sale it is probably worth a playthrough for the lower price.
Takes up so much space for a decent experience that quickly wears its welcome. Button-mashing and MCU synergy aside, it's fun enough once you have a fav character to play as but it's just.. not good enough to keep me coming back.
If there was more enemy and location variety I'd play it more. AIM robots and soldiers get old pretty quickly, especially when there are so many wacky/interesting potential factions in the Marvel universe.
Also a shame the games as service fricked it before it got off the ground. The MCU costumes are 14 bucks a pop. I didn't expect them to give them away for free but outfitting all the characters in their movie outfits costs more than a brand new game.

I think even WB knows the game is shit considering they haven't revealed actual gameplay footage, and the release date is still in question. I'm especially pissed about King Shark and Boomerang here. This is just an Overwatch clone with DC paint over it. Also it was really stupid to retcon a new Deadshot.
Don't use words you don't understand. There's nothing Overwatch about this unless you think OW invented fricking abilities for some reason. This game is more similar to Sunset Overdrive.

If you can find it for under $20 or if it's part of a subscription service sure. It's a fun way to waste a Saturday. The story is the same "Avengers have disassembled because a big conflict split them part" storyline you've seen a dozen times before. The only characters that feel good to play are Cap and Black Widow, Kamala, Hulk, Thors are fine, Iron Man is pretty much the worse character in the game to play until you max him out then he's fine. Hawkeyes are ok.
It’s worth playing for awhile, like 4-6 months before the games bugs start taking a real toll and eventually you’ll realize how not great the game engine is.
The combat is literally the best part of the game, but the gear is some of the worsts parts. You’ll find yourself playing a buggy game, that’s sometimes fun, but a huge chore for end game gear that virtually sucks. It’s a vicious cycle.
Also don’t fall into the microtransaction trap. To get players to ignore bugs, they release super cool comic book or MCU inspired skins bi-weekly. There are still day 1 bugs still not fixed.
So what's the fate of this game now that Squeenix has sold all of its western studios? Crystal Dynamics keeps working on it under their new publisher? Squeenix just keeps it in maintenance for a while? Total online shutdown?

I think the game's biggest problem is the worthless gear system. It's all worthless stat management
