It's from the cartoon series, that said, I can't recall many people going for human often in most DnD campaigns I've played, it's unusual for me to see half of a party comprised of humans, much more unusual for an entire party.
I’m a moron, I thought this was about the Honor Among Thieves movie.
Carry on.

>bring back beloved characters from a show that was the defacto animated fantasy series in some parts of the world >kill them ignobly
we really need a respectful reboot of the characters, like the series finale with really good animation
>Doesn't one of the mid 90s D&D books
baldurs gate mentioned tiamat ate them in an offhand joke
but other DnD modules tends to just put them in as an easter egg, knowing that a lot of people actually like them
and they unironically added their gear in one of the 3e books for the players and they are incredibly overpowered >hanks bow automatically restocks arrows when resting, can disappear when not in use, deals force damage, and can glow as bright as a torch when you want it to >cloak of invisibility does what it says on the tin >dianes staff can extend or retract from the size of a rod to a 10ft pole, improves acrobatics, and can be spun to deflect missiles >eriks shield is a +2 shield that can create a hemispherical barrier that can only be destroyed by a disintegrate or similar spell >prestos hat boosts intelligence when worn, can be removed to act as a wand, and can produce up to 1000gp worth of material components of spells per turn, and can also act as a deck of many things and pull out a random item >bobbys club boosts strength and can can hit the ground hard enough to create tremors that knock enemies prone
Sad that the closest we have to an ending is a brazilian car commercial or that a south american Add agency can do a better job at adapting an old property that Hollywood?
>random brown third-world ad company go through the trouble to find actors that match the original characters ethnicity and appearance on spot >billion dollar studios ignore the characters appearances and choose random brown people and asians to act as the characters
really makes you think
>not seeing why spot on ethnicity matters
You are moronic then

Seems like something for SJWs or racists, frankly, can't buy in.

The ethnicity really doesn't matter, what matters is that the adaptated character is actually being portrayed otherwise it's just a completely different character
See the Disney Cinderella(s) where the ethnicity is the same but they just made her a different character for no reason

Because if you cannot do something a simple as portray ethnicity correctly, you betray you will not respect other traits.
Take Alfred the Butler for example, is the character Alfred if he's not English? Nope, his ethnicity is core to several very important parts of his character.

Yeah, it's important for Alfred. You're belying your own point, the motherfricking D&D crew?

Read my post again; Ethnicity is one of the most superficial visual cues ever, it's a direct sign if you tamper with it you will not get the other themes.
You can count on one hand the ethnicity changes that kept other more complex themes.
Black Kingpin, that is literally it. Even Black Nick Fury missed out many key points.

Don't weasel around, you're the one who brought up Alfred as a character whose "ethnicity is core to several very important parts of his character". If you can't defend the damn point don't bring it up.
It's a very large and densely populated nation so "religious" is pretty vague but yes. Just keep in mind that their roots in "religion" involve blood worship alongside the kumbaya stuff.

>nooo you need to respect my nostalgia I have nothing in my life but to desperately cling to my lost childhood!
Why are people so pathetic these days? I miss when you were actually allowed to joke about things.
Becuase this "Joke" has been done to literal death in every single piece of media that ever exists. People are tired of "Haha old thing was goofy and dumb" because new stuff is just as stupid but people either treat it deathly serious or hide it behind a layer of irony.
Yes, we get it, the old TV show was silly and harmless fun, how funny to show this lighthearted show get eaten by Tiamat or be mauled in an arena. but get this, the Shitty Black person elves and Butch Lesbian Muttoids look just as hamfisted and goofy and the layers of irony just look like a shit smear.
I'd rather have sincre and honest goofiness than Ironic embarassed for itself goofiness.
>noo you're hurting my feelings pls stop I demand to be taken seriously!
Pathetic.

Tell me, are you just a contrarian or are you one of these Irony-fueled morons who pollute media? A Snyder fan perhaps?
I'm someone who's tired of people being so hungry for fresh outrage that you can't even make a fricking joke anymore. Everyone's sop fricking obsessed with their culture war bullshit that they have to take everything seriously and demand that they be taken seriously at all times, or else they start crying like it's a personal insult.
Frick your childhood and frick your feelings. Grow up.
>Grow up >Cannot enjoy things that are sincre and must hide behind several layers of irony or cynicism to get anything.
I have grown up, I have been grown up for a good while now; I am sick of this constant charade of dishonest surrounding media, that everything must be a cynical take on modern sensibilities, this is not a "Fresh Outrage" this is a fundamental issue in all of our media in this day and age, where people care more about skin tone and aligning with political ideologies or social media clout than actually telling a story, no matter how goofy it can be.
I am sick of everything being stuck in the childish phase of teenage nihilism.
Yep
>not a single non-human-like character in the entire team
Yawn, wake me when they show a Lizardfolk or Aarakocra
Isn't one of them a Tifling?
its the fricking kids from the animated series you doldrum they're isekai'd.
I’m a moron, I thought this was about the Honor Among Thieves movie.
Carry on.
It is. You can see a blurry Chris Pine in the back.
It's from the cartoon series, that said, I can't recall many people going for human often in most DnD campaigns I've played, it's unusual for me to see half of a party comprised of humans, much more unusual for an entire party.
god I hate freakshit players
>Lizardfolk
Only make for good farm equipment
3 humans, 1 dwarf and 1 elf is the perfect soulful party comp
So the Brazilian ad wasn't canon after all?
Nothing is real. It's all in the mind you know
They're all going to die as a joke
>bring back beloved characters from a show that was the defacto animated fantasy series in some parts of the world
>kill them ignobly
we really need a respectful reboot of the characters, like the series finale with really good animation
Doesn't one of the mid 90s D&D books or games do that because "dude that dumb 80s cartoon was SO LAME look how BADASS we are"?
>Doesn't one of the mid 90s D&D books

Diana was cute.
> defacto animated fantasy series in some parts of the world
who cares
>we really need a respectful reboot of the characters
This is as close as you're ever going to get.
Sad.

I'm sure at least half of it is the actors' guilds but really they were pretty generic, not seeing why spot on ethnicity matters.

Not hard to find white brazilians and a cute negress to cosplay the characters.
Isn't Brazil a religious place?
It's a very large and densely populated nation so "religious" is pretty vague but yes. Just keep in mind that their roots in "religion" involve blood worship alongside the kumbaya stuff.
I don't have hopes for anything modern after Voltron squandered it's potential
Hope not
That's exactly the kind of shit that kills my enjoyment of something
They're just going to be a cameo.
>nooo you need to respect my nostalgia I have nothing in my life but to desperately cling to my lost childhood!
Why are people so pathetic these days? I miss when you were actually allowed to joke about things.

So this joke is only in the "enhanced" edition? Fitting.
It was in the original game.

>after going on a childish rant about people not taking a joke
irony
actually, it is
>actually, it is
Is it based on the cartoon? Apologies if so.
Not the whole movie. The cartoon characters make a cameo, that's it.
>Grow up
>Cannot enjoy things that are sincre and must hide behind several layers of irony or cynicism to get anything.

>consume product and wait for next product
no thanks, frick you
Considering they were the only group in the clip besides the main characters who got ahead in the maze, I think they'll be fine
So does this mean the Dungeon Master is that loathsome little c**t?
Why are they ugly?
Have you seen the gay mutt they put on the poster? They don't want audiences thinking, "Why didn't the movie star these people?"
Sophia is in this isn't she? She's cute.
She's the only reason I'm watching, to be honest.
they're so fricking ooooold!
>Showing the displacement from the displacer beast coming out of it's tendrils.
Legit mad.
I thought they were going to find the kids like pic related and ranting about dungeon masters and vengers while eating an unicorn.
No, this is a film. And it's not fricking Cinemaphile you jackass.
Do they die?
i dont understand Cinemaphile's obsession with 80's and 90's cartoons
What would make more sense for them to be obsessed with, to you?
80s DnD was cool
simple as
Neither Comics nor Cartoons in any way, shape, or form.
discussing the upcoming appearance of characters from the dungeons and dragons CARTOON is not considered a CARTOONS and comics discussion?
that's cute. When are they gonna fricking go home, holy shit.
It would be cool to know if they returned home and returned to D&D or if they are still trapped there.
