It's the best depiction of Spider-Man, period. Better than any comic book. All super hero comic books are garbage written by morons.
Everyone in cartoons should be attractive unless they are bad guys. Ugly people should not exist in the idealism that is media, it's already bad enough they exist in real life.
Are you the guy who keeps going that all comic adaptations are better than comics? Its funny how easy it is to tell certain posters. Your statement that comics are written by morons is funny because so many of these adaptations do involve comic writers. Some of the best adaptations involved comic creators.
For what its worth, some of SMTAS' biggest flaws is how it adapts comic stories and either cuts the heart of the piece out or doesn't let it have an emotional punch. > Adapt the boy who collected Spider-man, turn it to an overwrought story where the cancer kid has an adventure with a Jamaican taxidriver who quotes James Brown.
>Everyone in cartoons should be attractive unless they are bad guys.
You know there are active campaigns against depicting people with deformities and so on as villains?
I don't agree with those things, but soon the good and bad characters will all look..... average.
I sort of get what you mean, but sometimes it's necessaryto tone it down a little. Can't have literally everyone being a mode, otherwise it can get a bit saturated.
>he is suppose to be an everyman
I HATE how you fricking casuals misuse this term to the same degree of >The customer is always right!
He deals with everyday problems as a superhero, but Peter Parker isn't--and has NEVER been--an "everyman." He's always been especially handsome and gifted.
Not that anon, but to be fair Peter only got handsome during the Romita run, so you could argue it wasnt the original intent.
If i had to drop my two cents, he's fine in the show, it can just be a bit weird that he's drawn just as buff before the spider bite when again ditko peter wasnt that. And the comics of the 90s made it a point that he wasnt well built before the spider-bite (but still kept the muscle mass when he looses his powers).
Id dispute that, he looked like a young ditko, which is average. Not that's bad looking either mind you.
Regarding TAS, i will say that my biggest issue is the clothing they gave peter (god that green shirt), but that applies to MJ and a lot of the cast too.
Was she? >Not a cat burglar >Knows Peter as a civvilian, missing a huge point of their dynamic >Story revolves around Morbius for some reason. >Doesnt even have natural white hair.
Cat having powers is fine, but having it be a transformation isnt, and just seems like a thing they did because they had used Felicia Hardy as such a different character that she really couldnt function as classic cat.

I'm talking as a representation of the character, not as a concept anon.
The original statement was that she was the best cat outside of the comics, which is what i was disputing. And there's a lot to Felicia in the comics, most of which TAS just didnt have.
>Not a cat burglar
Is that necessarily a bad thing? BC being a reformed thief who serves as a crime fighting friend/lover to Spider-man is way better.
Making her a cat burglar again that gets away because Spider-Man's a simp is just them doubling down on trying to make her a Catwoman rip off.
Not to mention it shits all over Spider-Man's character considering he got his uncle killed by letting criminals get away with it.
Yes, but her having to get reformed before she can date spidey, because of spidey is part of what makes their dynamic interesting. Because she radically reinvented herself for him and all.
Making her just a cat burglar misses the point just as much mind you.
Also Black Cat was a cat burglar before Selina, untill the 80s selina was more a supervillain with goons than something else.

Well she did start as a criminal in this one.Kingpin was forcing her to steal stuff. Then she started on her reformation after Spider-Man helped rescue her dad.

If she's forced by someone else to be a criminal its not really the same.
You just know by the time Madame Web takes him to his universe MJ she already fell there for years married and popped 2 or 3 children with someone else.
>MJ! I'm so glad you're finally back! >What do you mean? I just fell into that portal a few seconds ago. >Amazing, it's been over a year for me, but to her it's just been a few seconds!
>60s cartoon >90s cartoon >Spectacular
Those are the only good depictions of Spider-Man. At all. They took the good from the comics and left the bad, while still doing their own thing.
As someone who saw them in theaters and watched them tons on dvd, they're really overrated. Especially 2. That guy has no idea how to write a romance, and it was obvious from the second movie. They're both decent, but they never reach the same level as those 3 cartoons managed.
>60s cartoon >good
Uh, maybe for the time and budget they had, but no. Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends is better, and that' unwatchable trash passed the age of 9 tops. And with genAplha probably 5, since they're all porn addicted to phones by 7.
Funny, I came by this thread to post praise that guy for showing respect tot he 60's cartoon, which is woefully overlooked. Once Bakshi takes over the show its legitimately a solid action cartoon, better than most 80's cartoon writing. Peter is written closer to his comic self than most adaptations. People treat it as its only for meme content but its a good show if you actually bother to watch it.
>Spectaculosers coming out of the woodwork to say "well ackshually our show is the best and if only our God Greg Weisman could have more seasons and no stupid censorship mandates so he could make Rhino nonbinary
While i love the neversoft game Spec peter got a lot more characterization.
tb-tbh neversoft and TAS dont really share much of a status quo outside of Ock having the same voice. If anything its the closest to the spider-books right before the reboot.
shut your mouth pussycat!
Yup, although shoulda made him average looking. I know he's a model in the comics to, but he is suppose to be an everyman

soulless opinion. if everyone has to look conventionally handsome then the cartooning gets pigeonholed.
If literally everyone is attractive in it, they all just become invisible, it would be no different then everyone being average
No, because we still have reality to compare against. We don't watch media in a vacuum and have no other memories/interactions.
moron tier opinion. Consider suicide.

Or when it extended the short six arms story into a season long thing where spider-man kept groaning repeatedly.
>Everyone in cartoons should be attractive unless they are bad guys
Based and correct. This goes double for drawing based media.
>Everyone in cartoons should be attractive unless they are bad guys.

I do like how they made Peter look like a chad. I think he's supposed in his mid to late 20s in this series?
>he is suppose to be an everyman

Read a comic or frick off.

He wasn't a stereotypical chad like in Romita years, but he was still handsome under Ditko.
Id dispute that, he looked like a young ditko, which is average. Not that's bad looking either mind you.
Regarding TAS, i will say that my biggest issue is the clothing they gave peter (god that green shirt), but that applies to MJ and a lot of the cast too.
Everyman doesn't mean hideous, does it?
Not really no, but the voice and look is iconic and nostalgic so most people default to it.
yes
these are moronic Black folk

Somewhat
It was good
Best pairing.
Freaking good
Easily the best Black cat outside of comics too.
Was she?
>Not a cat burglar
>Knows Peter as a civvilian, missing a huge point of their dynamic
>Story revolves around Morbius for some reason.
>Doesnt even have natural white hair.
>he isn't talking about the Super Soldier serum running in her veins
Well that too, and her dad being involved with cap rather than just being a cat bruglar in jail.
I wanted to touch the narrative stuff more.
Same with her never actually dating spider-man.
Super serum was a pro and the MCU way
Cat having powers is fine, but having it be a transformation isnt, and just seems like a thing they did because they had used Felicia Hardy as such a different character that she really couldnt function as classic cat.
She-Hulk is doing it just fine

anon I don't care about all that I just like muscle girls.
Fair enough.
I like muscle girls too, but i just think it was a bad angle for cat.
And she can be muscular due to actual training and effort instead.
who cares nerd. Comic book black cat isn't some deep character.
she's the biggest female Marvel character as of now
only because they ruined Carol!
The original statement was that she was the best cat outside of the comics, which is what i was disputing. And there's a lot to Felicia in the comics, most of which TAS just didnt have.

Not PS1 games Spidey, so no.
Is this the series where Spider-Man screams in agony a lot?
SHOCKERRRRRRRRRRR
AAGGHH! IT BIT ME!
IM TURNING INTO A SPIDER MYSELF!
AUNT MAY, IT'S ME PETER!

He'll always be the Spiderman voice I read in
Rino Romano or him
No. Spectacular Spider-Man is better.
He's not a good spiderman nor Peter Parker, so no.
>60s cartoon
>90s cartoon
>Spectacular
Those are the only good depictions of Spider-Man. At all. They took the good from the comics and left the bad, while still doing their own thing.
really? no love for Raimi's spider 1 and 2?
As someone who saw them in theaters and watched them tons on dvd, they're really overrated. Especially 2. That guy has no idea how to write a romance, and it was obvious from the second movie. They're both decent, but they never reach the same level as those 3 cartoons managed.
It's okay to be illiterate anon, but it doesn't mean you can dismiss written works.

It really only has one competition.
two
Ps1 is pretty good too, sure id agree.
I prefer the look of the PC/Dreamcast version
I use ps1 as a shorthand to refer to the neversoft game, it was on the other platforms too but its just shorter to say ps1.
ah, makes sense I suppose
That and only the PS1 got the sequel game with Electro.
I always considered ps1 an extension of the 90s show
Well, along with the 92 X-Men cartoon it still have the best sfxs for superpowers and like.
Comic Spider-man is a pussy that sold his soul, his marriage, and his unborn daughter to the devil just to resurrect his decaying corpse of an aunt.
We don't talk about that or the Clone Saga. Quessada? More like Quesadilla, amirite?
>Spectaculosers coming out of the woodwork to say "well ackshually our show is the best and if only our God Greg Weisman could have more seasons and no stupid censorship mandates so he could make Rhino nonbinary

He's only considered "nerdy" in high school.
This show takes place in college.

John Romita made him a chad.
Yes
What does it mean?
No, this is
that's not spectacular peter
Neversoft (Ps1/N64/ Dreamcast) Peter > Spectacular Peter
Sorry but thems the facts.
They did use the 90s show to promote the game, so that's not too far fetched a headcanon
While i love the neversoft game Spec peter got a lot more characterization.
tb-tbh neversoft and TAS dont really share much of a status quo outside of Ock having the same voice. If anything its the closest to the spider-books right before the reboot.
He is the hottest looking Spiderman, so I'll take it.
