It's funnier than anything else on Cinemaphile or streaming services, but it's still just a modern take on classic skit shows like WKUK.

          Anonymous

No, gen Z is in their 20s now. It's just that the slang term "zoomer" started quite a few years ago when they were younger, so you still mentally associate them with that age. The 12 year olds are very unfittingly called "generation alpha." We're going to have to come up with a derisive name for them too.

            Anonymous

            >No, gen Z is in their 20s now.
The oldest ones are. The youngest zoomer was born December 31 2009 and is turning 14 this year. Some even put their birth years out to 2012 so they would be 11 but I like 2010 as the cut off point.
When zoomers rise up in Cinemaphile threads it includes the tweens among us grouping up with the older 20s zoomers.

              Anonymous

This is why "generations" are bullshit

                Anonymous

I think they're more important than ever considering how significantly the nature of upbringing keeps changing in the last few decades.
In the past, the generations were based on huge world events like post-WW2 baby boom, interwar years, or WW1. This was actually less significant - all those people were raised more or less the same way, maybe boomers had to work less as kids.

But starting with Gen X, media and pop culture became increasingly pervasive in the home and shaped people's minds (by design). You could argue it started with boomers since they were the first gen to have access to a lot of music and radio, but those aren't nearly as powerful in brainwashing as other media like TV, with the most powerful tool being modern social media.
We had millennials raised by the TV and early social media, zoomers 50/50 by increasingly pozzed TV and their mum's ipad, and Gen A now fully grows up on modern social media. This has a huge effect on how they turn out as people, how they think about the world, their problem-solving skills, and their ability to simply cope with existing by themselves.

I'm the wrong person for peep show, I tried it, I get the appeal and there were a few good laughs but I just can't really relate to a lot of it.
IASIP: don't get this show at all, I've watched tons of episodes with my friends and I just stare at the screen waiting for anything on screen to resemble comedy in any form whether absurdity or just slapstick. Never found anything. Just annoying idiots talking, which is odd because trailer park boys is basically that and it's top 5 for me.

For Peep Show, you don't need to find it relatable. One of the writers said that the theme is how evil can be rooted in laziness and a desire for personal convenience, rather than pure malice.

I'm pretty open minded about comedy because I like to laugh so I even watch really gay shit if it has a funny moment once in a blue moon.

I gave this guy's skits so many chances. It never gets me to crack a smile or exhale through my nose. Worse yet, there were a couple of moments where it starts to feel like the skit is going in a funny direction but then he just does his "funny yell" that's in every skit and ruins it.

Finally this guy ripped off the WKUK hot dog sketch with pic related, I couldn't believe how brazen the rip off was. In the sketch the Doctor gets him to reluctantly and ashamedly admit he consumes a lot of hot dogs daily (in "bowl" form, but still) just like the WKUK sketch. That was when I decided this guy is an unfunny homosexual.

That does seem to be the appeal with it for a lot of people, but yeah, a lot of sketches feel uncomfortably familiar. I admit that I was a huge piece of shit for a long time, and I'd often have difficulty admitting I was ever wrong, which is what leads to most of the situations.
But again, they say I'm a paranoid schizophrenic, so it's probably just ideas of reference.

the ones that he is not in are all extremely unfunny and only contain a single joke

    >"she uses over the top insults" the skit

    >"the horses have tiny penis to make you feel better" the skit

I don't think I have ever seen a better example of how humor is almost exclusively delivery and personality instead of the joke itself

Is it even necessary to have Netflix to watch this show? They seem to just put everything on YouTube.

Go die for Israel, mutt. Anything the israeli touch turns to shit. Including your digested and shat out foreskin

    >I'M YELLING AND BEING UNREASONABLE

Tim Robinson is painfully unfunny. The best sketch is the egg game one because it's dumb but not just yelling

I'm starting to think Cinemaphilefags don't like it because most of the sketches are about being autistic or not fitting in in some way. Hits too close to home

the skit with the corpses falling out of the coffins repetitively was probably the hardest that I’ve ever laughed at anything

It has a few that are funny and then it'll follow up a funny bit with a retardedly painful one and ruin it.

You can usually tell right away when a sketch is going to be a dud. Like the guy who hires that weird singer for his birthday party. I didn't even bother with that one.
