It's awful, so tonally inconsistent it feels like it's written by the south park manatees. It's a dumb comedy that for some reason starts taking itself seriously with le sad dramatic moments halfway through, it just feels out of place and dumb.

I watched the whole thing except the last 2-3 episodes.
Did the same thing with Succession. Don't know why, didn't really feel a great urge to see the ending.
I’ve watched it twice, one time I stopped halfway through and the other time I went all the way. Can’t remember very much because each episode is le quirky situations d e s u.
I didnt like it much. It's decently made, good characters and solid jokes here and there but it didnt catch me enough to continue watching after season 1. Like something was missing and I'm not sure what exactly.
Season 1 great, Season 2 wobbly but still fun. Season 3 what the frick. Didn't get any further. Some parts of how they closed out in the final season souded like it was worth finishing, but I haven't.
Really forgot itself and what it was setting out to be as it progressed, I think.
I believe it was in one of these threads some anon posted a good summary of why vague/indistinct "in the closet" homosexuality characters provide comedy due to the ambiguous nature of the personality. Noho hank being the best example of this.
S3 is shit immediately. S4 follows suit. You could probably stop at s2 and make your own ending and have it be far more satisfying.
most forgettable show ive ever watched. it will leave no impact on you and you will forget it existed after you finish it. it has a similar feel to Cobra Kai
the first season-s? are ok and some characters are really good, i dropped it when his girlfriend became a tv star or something, that killed the show to me.
I got two episodes in before I gradually realized the writers knew nothing about hit men, mobsters, special forces or even acting(!)...they were plainly aping other, better shows. Worse, all the humor is that ironic shit like "Our Flag Means Death". Moved on with no regrets.
This. The first season stands as a perfectly wrapped up and self-contained story on its own. After the ending you already know what's going to happen to the characters next because you already know they're extremely flawed. The next few seasons of watching it happen in slow motion weren't enjoyable, save for a few scenes with noho Hank
Agreed. Season 1 had a nice bow put on it. And the last part of the last episode could be interpreted as a dream or reality IMO. Kind of like the end of season 6 (or 7?) of Trailer Park Boys where everyone is happy and content, then they just ran it into the ground. Also, in Barry whoever directed the black and white portions of the show thought they were way smarter than they are.
Didnt like Root's character? Im yet to watch anything I didnt enjoy him in.
That says a lot about the quality of the later seasons. The last season had tons of black and white. Pretty sure one entire episode was BW. All the scenes in Nebraska or wherever it was. That shit was terrible
Very specific experience. You will love it or hate it.
I agree with this anon. Also, the last season is awful.
It's this. It's very unique and very jarring at times. The ending made me laugh for a week.
if you use the word slop unironically, you're not going to like it
what if I'm using it ironically?
you dont like anything in this scenario, so may as well watch it to pass the time
Tanked hard, they were unable to really capitalize on what made it unique initially and went down LE DARK route
women writers ruined it

Pretty accurate
>south park manatees
It technically was
Hader was on the staff of SP for years
I watched the whole thing except the last 2-3 episodes.
Did the same thing with Succession. Don't know why, didn't really feel a great urge to see the ending.
Don’t bother.
>Shows up
>Yells at Barry
>Goes away and is never seen again
Why?
Season 1 is great, downhill from season 2, but slowly
I don't even remember this character
he was the fbi agent that barry saved back in iraq or some shit
Mostly slop I'm afraid.
Too Old To Die Young is a better version of whatever this wants to be.
I’ve watched it twice, one time I stopped halfway through and the other time I went all the way. Can’t remember very much because each episode is le quirky situations d e s u.
i unrionically love quirky situations lol its so me
>le quirky situations d e s u.
Why is nearly every single modern tv show and movie like this?
i thought it was awful
I didnt like it much. It's decently made, good characters and solid jokes here and there but it didnt catch me enough to continue watching after season 1. Like something was missing and I'm not sure what exactly.
the last season was shitty and unnecessary. up until then, it had its moments.
Last season sucks.
First 2 seasons are watchable. I think it turns to shit during the second season.
it's ok, s1/2 are better than 3 and 4 is real bad. stephen root is the highlight
Season 1 great, Season 2 wobbly but still fun. Season 3 what the frick. Didn't get any further. Some parts of how they closed out in the final season souded like it was worth finishing, but I haven't.

it turns to slop the second they doubled down on noho hank being a gay

dropped when they jumped the shark
most forgettable show ive ever watched. it will leave no impact on you and you will forget it existed after you finish it. it has a similar feel to Cobra Kai
this is the way I feel about South Park and and anything Seth Macfarlane has ever been involved with
Written entirely by white males. No wonder it’s shit and no one likes it
the first season-s? are ok and some characters are really good, i dropped it when his girlfriend became a tv star or something, that killed the show to me.
It's just a worse, shitter Patriot written by homosexual LA comics.
Now there was a show.
I got two episodes in before I gradually realized the writers knew nothing about hit men, mobsters, special forces or even acting(!)...they were plainly aping other, better shows. Worse, all the humor is that ironic shit like "Our Flag Means Death". Moved on with no regrets.
and how did you become so knowledgable on those subjects?
I did them all before I cucked your dad.
Loved it til the last season
First season is good. After that its only worth watching for Stephen Root and Noho Hank

I don't remember any of those

>muh flawed characters
pseud form of analysis. Barry is structurally not built that way (something the later writers also misunderstood)
>Noho Hank
aaannd he turns into unironic gay, thanks Hader
Oh wow
First 2 seasons are pretty entertaining. Dont bother with the other 2.
>tfw ywn go 50/50 with Cristobal
Barry kinda sucks. I was on board for a while and really wanted it to turn out well. I think it is a victim of bad writing
its kinda funny how both this and succession were quickly forgotten after it finished
mean while game of thrones marches on
i think it would have suffered the same fate if house of dragon wasnt good
Only because it still makes me angry
Both
First couple seasons were good but after that the writers stopped writing jokes and turned it into a full drama
The first 1-2 seasons are good, then it just goes nowhere and becomes repetitive.
It's clear the writers didn't think beyond the setup.
Not funny, it tries to be but its just not, if you like Marvel-tier humour you'll like it
Season 3 ending is the real finale.
childish fun series, only seen s1 and s2 which made me laugh a lot
watch mr. inbetween instead
