Unforgiven is better when it comes to characterization and depth but TGTBATU is filmed and put together as well as any other film.
It was kind of boring and most of it isn't very memorable. TGTBATU has memorable set piece after memorable set piece (e.g. both have great openings but nothing from OUAT is on par with the mini civil war movie in TGTBATU).

leone's westerns are good in spite of being westerns cause they take the tropes to their logical conclusions and manage to be compelling and entertaining. they make ford's westerns feel like sluggish dated pieces of trash.
