>SOME LUCKY KUCKS GET ALL THE FRICKS SOME GO BAREBACK TO BREAK A BUCK!
Jimmy Pesto's verse in the song was so weird. I can see why they dropped the actor. I heard it was adlibbed too.
Weird because they had to animate him running into the alleyway to just say that line then running all the way back to the restaurant shouting "ZOOOOOOM".
That song loses a lot without the dance choreography; I still really like it just as a song but people who haven't seen the visuals along with it have no idea what they're missing out on.
That song was so good. I saw the movie a few days ago and Lucky Ducks has been in my head the entire time.
Has it flopped?
It did well enough on it's opening weekend, pulling almost fifteen million if you include the Thursday premier. It's up to 29 million world wide, so it fell off quite a bit after that first week. Which is sad because it's good for the universe if a hand drawn 2D animated film succeeds.
It was great watching a credit sequence for an animated film that was shorter than the movie itself, without millions of foreign names listed as CG visual effects artists. Old Cinemaphile would have pushed hard for this movie just based on the fact it was a hand drawn major motion picture with a theatrical release. Post-2016 Cinemaphile doesn't care because supporting this movie doesn't pwn teh libs.
can't believe they cut this from the final version of the movie

It's pretty counter-intuitive.
You made an animated short, people worked hard on it but you're gonna just not show it? Put it on Hulu and Disney+ at least.
Man I'm not ready for when season 13 starts and the animation becomes more stiffer.

I know right, I started catching back up afterwards and its already hard to look at them moving as little as possible in contrast to moving as much as possible.

Luckily I saw it in a really shitty theatre, so I'm not noticing the limited animation.

Yep, it's back to the old scene after scene of only showing people's upper bodies as they talk.
given how little Disney seems to care about the movie and how badly it flopped maybe it'll just be inauspiciously plopped onto D+ in about a month of so
I refuse to believe it cost 60 fricking mil. The first Spongebob movie only cost 30m (about 45m in today's dollars).

I think anon is only saying 60 million because that was the simpsons movie budget.

simpsons movie budget was 75 million in 2007, that's over a hundred million today if you account for inflation.

Anonymous
Yeah but the simpsons movie budget was an outlier. We can't assume the Bob's Burger movie cost 60 million just because the Simpsons movie costed 75 million.
Anonymous
Film budgets have largely stayed around the same over that period plus a huge chunk of the Simpsons Movie budget would have been tied up in the voice cast as well as the sheer ton of material made and not used.
I doubt either of those apply to the Bob's Burger Movie. I'd expect it to be closer to the Winnie the Pooh end of the spectrum on costs per minute; it'd be more because it was a longer film but the other costs wouldn't be as high.
You know there's no offical source saying the budget was 60 million? It's just something a random ass website said and we all been taking it as fact without any proof.
I don't mind a sentimental louise but I have a hard time believing the arc of her needing to be brave.
Maybe it's more about her being brave enough to grow up but in that case the movie failed to illustrate that

how? if there's one thing Louise has always been appropriately immature about it's romance. She hates the very idea of being into boys, why would she flirt with Logan?
Anonymous
>how?
Because the show, and louise, was different in the early season. She was immature about romance but dropped a lot more innuendos and while Logan was a jerk the mother daughter laser tag episode showed they could work together and then that boys 4 now episode showed how Louise is noticing boys.
It's not a conclusion the show is leading you to but it's not completely outlandish.

I never got that impression tbh, it never seemed to me that either secretly liked the other in the early seasons. But when I saw the train episode I DID think Louise was weirdly concerned about Rudy in contrast to the other kids, and Googled to see if they became a thing.
It's just that Rudy is too milqetoast for people who wanna fantasize over hardcore sex. And the girls who write fanfic self insert as Louise... I understand it now that I saw that Hentai comic... But, it will be Rudy if they ever actually try to give Louise a romance plot (which isn't obsessive Boo Boo lust).
It would be a big mistake to actually make it a thing in the show's run, aside from occasional hints, or outright saying it but not actually having the characters enact it. Tina would also be ruined by being in a long term relationship. Whether it's Jimmy Jr or Zeke. All of them would.

God, probably the best ine he's done. His only flaw is he doesn't do well with the reveals. You can't show Logan's penis in just a small panel like that, needs a splash panel.
Shame. Bob's Burgers used to be really good. But then it was just the same jokes every episode. It just got really stale and unfunny as time went on and then it tried to get too serious.
I like the movie as is but if I had the chance I would just have 5 separate plots for each Belcher under the cover of one meta plot. >restuarant is facing foreclosure >Bob and Teddy go out to the streets to sell burgers where Bob can explain why burgers and talk about his dead mom >Linda goes to talk to the fischoeders where she charms some rich people and be the one to solve the murder mystery plot >Tina is trying to get a petition going because she has a vague idea of what a petition is and while going door to door keeps meeting better boys then Jimmy jr >Gene sets up a charity concert and realizes while he's a terrible musician he's an excellent producer. >and Louise went out to guerilla advertise for bob's but soon clashes with the combined might of Chloe and Logan who turn out to be cousins?!
And every single plot come together in the end where everyone comes to Bob selling burgers on the street and just having a huge block party.
Saw it two nights ago and loved it. The best the show has been in years. At least since like season 4 or 5, just good stuff. Teddy particularly at his best which shocked me since I've really not been liking him the past year. And that opening song is kino. Linda and Bob just so good together. Well in this movie anyways.
Okay that makes my imagination run wild. I can imagine Jimmy Pesto in his own restaurant as the rapey cannibal leader. Bob is Tommy. Linda's sister is the Firefly leader. But who will be Bill?
just got back from watching this masterpiece, loved it.
my theory is that loren couldn't get the budget to hire additional storyboard artists or animators so he had to sacrifice the animation on the recent seasons to allocate resources to the amazing animation in the movie
It was a good idea not to try and give Gene an overarching story but the way he was shown to be nervous about performing and then he just performed without issue and without it tying into the story was kinda blah
Because nobody cares about Gene. He has a few good episodes but is largely an annoyance. He's like an iron lung... The show needs him but you wish it didn't.
>Louise encounters an inconvenience to something she desires or slight brought about by her own actions >Plots revenge and ignores she’s in the wrong >Tina acts worried about consequences >Gene makes sassy comments >Louise gets to the last step of her plan then has a change of heart due to sudden guilt or new information >B plot where Bob, Linda, & Teddy sit around the restaurant doing nothing

I hope they replace him with his ex wife out of spite to the actor
That song loses a lot without the dance choreography; I still really like it just as a song but people who haven't seen the visuals along with it have no idea what they're missing out on.
Same for the villain song.

this but not because I'm a perv, I just really like how smooth the animation was for this movie

Now my shoulders have a temperature,.
They need topical antibiotic.
Shoulders must be too close to your butt, that's how they got it.
can't believe they cut this from the final version of the movie
it’s weird how jimmy pesto sr didn’t have any lines.
Didn't his VA get banished from the show for being part of the Jan 6 zerg rush?
>It's a Louise episode
>It's a Louise show
>It's a Louise movie
>It's a Louise franchise

GOOD.
Bunnygirl fo LYF.
If anything the movie needed even more Louise.
And everytime Louise isn't on screen other characters should be asking "where's louise?"
so when's the movie streaming in Disney+? I want that torrent
given how little Disney seems to care about the movie and how badly it flopped maybe it'll just be inauspiciously plopped onto D+ in about a month of so

Not really, no one knows the offical budget.

As bad as the movie did in theaters, at least it was IN THEATERS, unlike Pixar’s last three movies.
I'll buy it on Bluray just so I can have a physical copy of Tina's bare feet.
>has no problem shitting in a pool
>is suddenly scared of using a public toilet
The show really did turn into a sentimental Louise wankfest.
>is suddenly scared of using a public toilet
Have you ever seen a public restroom?
I don't mind a sentimental louise but I have a hard time believing the arc of her needing to be brave.

I loved this so much. I loved that Louise felt the call of the void and felt compelled to jumo.
Louise is the best character alongside Bob so I’m always fine with it
Those two are the entire show. Everyone else is just filler for Bob and Louise to talk. Except Jimmy Pesto.
I just want to see Louise's panties. Is that too much to ask for?
I'm your fairy GodPervert here to grant your wish.
Thank You. My life is complete

Yes, and they aren't bad. Just don't expect much Bob and Linda; it's pretty much only focused on the Belcher kids.
Wow that's completely needless and requires someone to make a conscious effort to include that.
Why are there chefs in a bookstore
It's a recipe book promotion.

Garbage. Looks like she's wearing a diaper.
that's even better
I see that happen often in cartoons.
Maybe to make it less attractive to pedos?
>insert inappropriate joke sexualizing bob's children here

How the frick do you make a movie about a show where nothing fricking changes
You make a 90 minute regular episode, that's how.
Make it a movie where nothing changes because the villain is a character they'll never use again and the payoffs are all inconsequential.
>the payoffs are all inconsequential

I like the movie as is but if I had the chance I would just have 5 separate plots for each Belcher under the cover of one meta plot.
