Druckmann is involved in writing it so that is very doubtful. They might be able to fix it by introducing Abby better but the outcome will likely be the same.
Aww I was hoping we could enjoy round 2 of flashbacks inside of other flashbacks cutting to a 3rd flashback level, would’ve been perfect levels of trashy considering what zombieshit really is, don’t even understand why people thought it was so bad. It was so perfectly retarded for the kind of story we’re talking about.
I doubt they'll change that. But if HBO doesn't want the second season to be the final one, they'll likely write entirely new material to fit in the 5 year gap between the games. Also they'll likely change the story of the second game/season somewhat, to fit the different audience.
Tbh I wouldn't mind a season or two of that, I just hope they don't start dragging the show out. Just do two seasons if the quality starts degrading
The only hope this series ever genuinely had in my opinion is if it was truly ADAPTED to the medium. Not just remade for it...
The first hurdle was cleared by getting the original creators involved on a writing level.
The main hurdle wasn't as they are just literally reformatting work they've already done. It's boring and absolutely has the feeling of retreading old ground. Even if you're enjoying it I imagine that would hold true.
Their only true shot was to rewrite the story, not necessarily from scratch, but there should have been new hooks. Stuff thats new for returning fans and new ones etc... Not hey btw let's show you the details of this little girl's final day but everything will play out exactly as you know it will! Garbage. It's just arbitrary and pretentious expansion of something they've already sold me.
Honestly I wouldn't say kino just yet, there's been no moments in this first episode that made me stand up with my arms in the air and shout KINO KINO
But it's pretty good
>Honestly I wouldn't say kino just yet, there's been no moments in this first episode that made me stand up with my arms in the air and shout KINO KINO
True, but most reviews say episode 1 is among the "least good". WTF I am gonna shout KINO KINO, aren't I?
>True, but most reviews say episode 1 is among the "least good"
that's because craig mazin is the weakest director out of the whole bunch by a pretty big margin. If you look at stuff that Peter Hoar did in It's a sin or Abbasi in Border or Zbanic in Quo Vadis Aida then you know you're in for some turbokino
>muh streaming service adaptation of a video about fungus zombies is so heckin kino
zoomies are so fucking retarded. you should genuinely try to kill your self right now.
I just want the rape and murder and the fascists want to prevent me from raping and murdering, why else? They want to impose their authoritarian will upon my liberty to rape and murder.
Play the games. She is the bad guy and uses the restore democracy gimmick to recruit more people. She doesn't actually believe that society can be saved
I played the game a while ago. Was she really the bad guy? As far as I remember, she was a good guy who wanted to save humanity and Joel fucked this up because "mAh new daughter"
She’s not inherently she’s just a politician. Joel’s whole thing and why he’s interesting is because he’s so utterly selfish while still maintaining politeness and decency. He’s a nice guy in a genuine way that isn’t just surface level either, but at the end of the day his mind has always been him+those he cares about>anything else. He makes an inherently selfish decision at the end of the first game that proves he cannot ever change and that he will not care what someone else wants if it conflicts with what he personally wants. It doesn’t make him evil either, he’s just not capable of making any kind of decision that doesn’t benefit him.
they fireflies do not have the manpower and resources necessary to make a vaccine feasible. She wants for selfish reasons masked under the guise of altruism. If she has a vaccine, FEDRA would no doubt surrender to her. The Fireflies are being decimated and on the verge of being fully destroyed, but a vaccine would give them the leverage they need.
In the second game she doesn't even really want to go through with it until Zimmerman convinces her.
In my view the Fireflies aren't really evil, just retarded. There wasn't a way for them to save humanity when they helped destroy most of the QZs and got most of themselves and others killed in the process.
he did nothing wrong because for him Daughter>whole world and not because of some chud ramblings about how they would never make the cure. The point of that ending is the stake and how much he is willing to sacrifice for Ellie. If you remove that, as many chuds do (only after playing part 2, funnily) then the ending loses meaning. And also, Abby still has pretty good reason to be mad at joel
The original ending is division because some people look at it from Joel perspective, he's not willing to sacrifice a child he's grown to love as his daughter. Especially if the cure might not even work, she'd have died for nothing. It's selfish but completely understandable.
Others look at the ending from a 'logical', or at least from a less personal/emotional perspective. 'The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few'. If a cure truly could be made, should one life stand in the way? And even if the cure is unlikely, should an effort not be made when the potential success could save all of humanity? Also an understandable point of view.
It was selfish because Ellie 'wanted'/was fine with dying if it meant a cure could be made. That's likely survivors guilt speaking obviously but she was still willing to make that sacrifice and ultimately it was hers to make because it's her life.
Joel selfishly refuses that and acts in his own interests because of his personal love towards Ellie. So yes, it's completely understandable from his perspective to act this way, he's human. But he still does it for his own selfish desires.
Yes, that is, in fact, selfish. Whether or not it's good or bad is another matter. You sacrificing someone to "save the world" means you're doing something which invariably benefits... you, i.e. selfishness.
You need to do away with looking at selfishness as inherently-bad. Egoism is the prime motivator of action. Even "altruistic" acts are just disguised mutually-beneficial egoism, but people are afraid to own their selfishness.
Actual altruism is apathy, whereas egoism is emotionally-motivated -- like when you feel good from helping someone; the feeling good is the motivator. So, what motivates an altruistic act since it has no emotion behind it? It exists, but it's bereft of all care.
>selfish
would you sacrifice your daughter or a mother to save the world? It's not selfish. That's the wrong word to describe that
>You'd just come after her
All of you are forgetting the fact that they CONFIRM in the second game that a cure is impossible, which further makes Joel in the right for not wanting Ellie to waste her life. It also removes any sympathy you have for Abby in the second game because it proves that her father and the rest of the Fireflies that Joel kills to save Ellie are a bunch of sanctimonious psychopaths willing to kill children for "the greater good" when they're so inept that it's literally impossible to make a cure. The second game is so bad it removes any nuance the first game had and retroactively makes it worse. >nice lifts, homosexual
well yeah the original game is literally just written as a tv show, it's clear neil doesn't actually like working the video game medium with how he just tells his story via purely cinematics he's one of those hollywood rejects that begrudgingly started writing for video games
>hollywood rejects
he went to study computer science then became an intern at video game company because he wanted to work in hollywood? Amy Hennig literally went to film school OH NO NO NO NO NO NO
Good first episode. Some shots looked a bit cheap. Girl who plays Ellie has the tone and emoting down, but she literally only has one facial expression, and it isn't pretty either.
>Good first episode. Some shots looked a bit cheap.
You could really tell in some of the daytime outdoor scenes in the QZ. Not awful but certainly TV budget. I really noticed in some shots how they clearly took an existing street and covered it in some quick dirt and grime.
Most interior shots looked really good, the intro in the Texas suburb looked good (Again, because the set didn't have to look run down), and what little we saw outside the wall looked decent (Most of that was CGI tho).
I do wonder how the rest of the season is gonna look considering everything from now on out should be completely run down and overgrown, and eventually winter shots.
bros, i'm doing a grounded permadeath run on part 1 and i gotta say this is the definitive way to experience this game. If you haven't done it yet, I recommend it. looking forward to grounded permadeath part 2
yeah it does. basiclly every combat encounter I have with humans goes like this >stealth kill as many enemies as possible >headshot the enemy that catches me >throw bricks at other enemies if needed, kill in melee >run and hide >distract with bottles/bricks >continue stealth killing or sneak past if I can
I sneak past most infected encounters
Why would I watch this when I know how badly it turns out? You're gonna get at one decent season at most before they completely ruin it by adapting Part 2.
Because i liked how the gameplay improved, i had fun and in the context of thing i can very well understand why she wanted revenge and killed Joel, as well as why he let his guard down like he did.

I don't have much of a dog in this, but yeah those are all fair things anon. Personally I'd say I wasn't a fan of how the writing turned the fireflies into what seemed like a cult of sorts, but that's just my own personal gripe.

Why does Joel's daughter not have an accent? Like I get she was a nepo diversity hire but still like you can't do the bare minimum? She had an accent in the game and joel still has his, if she was raised by a single father in the south why doesn't she have an accent?
Bad actress. The ugly thief bitch dies in the first 20 mins but the actress couldn't be bothered to, or simply couldn't learn an accent for that few of lines/screentime.
That or someone put that ugly and bad of an actress in the role as a favor; maybe the producers are pushing some global agenda.
Completely normal that she wouldn't have an accent, but her dad would, especially living just outside of Austin.
t. Texasanon
she had an accent in the game and I doubt someone in between the game and production of the show said "well actually she probably wouldn't have an accent living in this part of texas"
Why did Tommy and Joel get separated after the car flipped? another car hit their car and caught fire but there was still room to go around the car, yet they acted like they were blocked off from each other.
It literally is just the walking dead season 47 fungus edition. Sorry they’re not zombies they’re clickers and ghoulers and runners my bad, oh and Joel and Ellie aren’t just Rick and girl Carl with a generic find the cure subplot attached. This is genius television and the biggest accomplishment in israeli entertainment history, a story that changed the fucking world cause it’s so good when the angry dad is sad and angry and the bubbly rebellious teen that doesn’t talk or act or even really look like a teen but a 27 year olds fantasy version of a teen they’d want to molest says she is le gay
It would’ve been genre defying cable television in 2010 but the zombie trend got old 10 fucking years ago.
Why do all post apocalyptic medias have a scene with planes falling out of the sky? This one, that other HBO show Station Eleven, the emp scene in modern warfare 2, that movie Knowing, etc.
They’re all ripping each other off. There’s nothing original about this zombie show. TLOU had one 5 minute memorable segment at the end and otherwise both games are generic zombieshit. It goes a little off the rails for exactly one part at the very end one time. Other than that you could replace any line of dialogue or scene with one from any other zombie or dad/daughter drama movie.
What? Does the fungus affect airplanes? Within a year everyone would just check anyone before they got on and there’d still be viable aircraft sitting around. The less a zombie story tries to explain things the better.
Any less populated part of this utterly massive country than suburban Texas I guess
There’s probably lots of people that are fine in TLOU universe we just don’t see.
Watching this show, I was severely underwhelmed. After about 5 minutes it really is just a shot for shot extended remake of the game. There doesn't seem to be any emphasis put on the film/tv medium either, not to mention it's bogged down by some really bad acting. They are entirely riding the hype of trying to recreate the exact feeling TLOU 1 gave to its audience when it dropped, because they are acutely aware how fanatic that audience is.
Having said that, one thing was apparent to me watching the pilot - Pedro Pascal is actually a pretty decent actor. He was the only one of the characters that was worthy of developing any connection with. Maybe my view is skewed by the fact that I've seen him partake in this interview before, and he probably comes across as the most annoying insufferable reddit tier stoner I've ever seen. For him to go from that to his portrayal of Joel is at least a sign of a modicum of talent.
That's the one silver lining I can currently attribute to this.
Here's the interview if anyone's brave enough to try and sit through it btw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stLw-2Ob8xQ
Pascal is a talented actor. Bella Ramsey is too, but she's ugly as sin. Heavily bonged. However, because they are the primary leads, the show will probably be at least passable.
Any tips on dealing with the ugly girl that plays Ellie? That's the only thing preventing me from watching right now. I can't stand ugly people in media.
i guess, but the thing is it is truly meaningless in the end because after a 20 year jump the story isn't even about that anymore. there's a reason the game doesn't dwell too much in the prologue, because it knows it only serves as a character and story motivation, but in the show they linger so much in the 'past' that it feels like you're watching a whole other show after the jump.
I mean, i guess that's a fair point to make. But i thought the outbreak scene, although a little too quick and having a plane crash amongst other things so quickly all at once seemed a little too fast. But maybe the spores somehow were made to have things happening at a certain point so things could spread quicker. I dont know

He isn't wrong. The only thing the first game had going for it was a good story, great characters, decent graphics and an outstanding soundtrack. The gameplay was typical Naughty Dog mediocrity, with passable third-person shooting. It's a very good movie though.
The second game has the same level of gameplay but with an awful story, a character so terrible she retroactively makes you hate the characters you liked from the first game and retarded writing that desperately tries to make you like said terrible character as you're forced to play her. TLOU2 is a terrible story and characters with great soundtrack and mediocre gameplay, which is why people hated it.

Nothing will ever make TLOU2 a good game. Cuckmann crashed and burned his own story because he's a neurotic kike who can't stand traditional stories and has to inject his ideology and fetishes into it. And he will do so by killing your favorite character to support his unlikable psychopath of a roided up OC.

The audience scores and just generally talking to people. TLOU2 is an awful game with only slightly improved gameplay from the first and worse everything else.
Its ok but it isn't kino, the creators can't help themselves but put in dumb shit. Them going through the fence with the sign was a fine ending shot. Then the room with the radio playing, that was fine too. But instead they cut back again and have a fucking zombie 20ft away from them screeching like a retard as lightning flashes. Come the fuck on.
Yeah I only noticed it because of the silly noise, its hard to see it, but when you do notice it you see it standing there then doing this over the top crouching scream shit thats in so many bad movies. Its a bad sign of how they will do things as if the zombie granny wasn't bad enough. Its a show made for a 90IQ audience it seems like.
I think it only appears that way because you don't understand why its screeching. But it is actually a part of their design to be loud as fuck when they are moving around. They are only quiet when they are sleeping.
Afterall they use sound to see.
I think echolocation for mushroom people is a pretty dumb idea, but I can get past it. For me the problem with it is putting it in that shot in that way, like a werewolf howling at the moon. It's just a bit over the top. The episode already had a fine cliff hanger ending.
I don't think a mushroom would have any reason to develop it. I could see them using existing ears to move around because of auditory stimuli feeding from the brain into the shroom but there's no reason for them to grow their own hearing mechanism. The entire point of cordys is that they highjack existing systems. It would be like if they started growing bone claws and shit it wouldn't make sense like it does in dead space where the mutations are the work of an intelligent design.
its funny to imagine how many potential cures they killed by automatically killing everyone at the first sign of infection when if you had waited you might have seen many people have their symptoms stop after 12-24 hours
Why would you even bother, just wear armor and travel in groups, if you survive the initial slaughter how many of these still living breathing mindless fungal mutants would survive the first winter? A human’s teeth can’t even bite through a cheap leather jacket easily.
Damn man if only there was a country where there were literally more guns than people and more ammunition already produced than living people in that country by magnitudes I mean shit can’t even imagine a country like that

well it sounds like that's going to be pretty gay then, but that's what happens when you try and have both sides of the zombie plot. you either have to let it be fantasy or science you can't have both.

You wouldn’t need them, 2-3 AR rounds would disable an unarmed human body pretty much completely unless the fungus completely disabled the need for a spine. Just reach center mass and in a few shots anything you hit would be so crippled it couldn’t get to you if it tried. I understand the show shouldn’t have to explain this it’s just fun to talk about, I’m not trying to argue.

For living zombies yes I agree but for like TWD zombies it has to be a headshot otherwise they just crawl to you and you end up using too many rounds per zombie.

Yeah I think the spores are more deadly than the zombies, but the problem would solve itself pretty fast. I think there's a lot of animals that like eating mushrooms just let pigs loose on them or something. I guess the idea is though that if you can get a gimp version of the cordyceps to multiply then you can just kill off the bad ones by natural selection.
they tested the kid and he was positive so very nice lady told him they will give him toys and he will be safe and so on, he just needs to take some medicine. And they just casually injected him with lethal shit. Next time you see the kid is when joel throws the body into a fire
Question.
I didn't watch the show but I heard that infections happen through tendrils or some shit. Does this happen in the first episode? Is it disgusting?
They're weird and look like feathers, not like tentacles. You only see it with the old lady sucking on her family.
It's not really gross, except with the old lady it looked like her mouth was an asshole or something. It's more retarded than just transmitting through bites (Clickers don't have them from what I can tell too). Also got distracted because the old lady looked like Snoke when he got killed.
how do bloaters get made again? we saw this episode that when the infection gets so severe the dude just becomes part of the wall, but some just become bigger?
How?
They still live through the cold both in TLOUpt1 and pt2.

well in the games the shrooms are magical so they are immune to everything, but in real life you can subdue mushroom growth in a variety of ways, especially if its a mutation acclimated to warm temperatures
11 months ago

They very clearly explained in the show that it had evolved to survive at different temperatures.
The shrooms are not magical in the games it is the exact same as in the show, except the spores aren't the main way the infection spreads, it now spreads through tendrils.
Anonymous
No he said it adapted to warmer climates because of climate change. You can't adapt to warmer and colder climates at the same time, that's what makes it magical. It making the host bullet proof is also magical. In real life mushrooms are very soft and spongy.
literally just been infected for a long time. It will happen to all infected if they are exposed long enough. >we saw this episode that when the infection gets so severe the dude just becomes part of the wall, but some just become bigger?
the infected are not undead, the host can still die of starvation. The guy probably died and the fungus spread on the wall behind him. we saw this in the game
>It will happen to all infected if they are exposed long enough
Not true. Clickers are typically the final stage of the infection (takes years to turn into one) after which the host is fully spent and dies allowing the fungus to form spores in order to infect new hosts. The Bloater stage is rare and only happens to those organisms that are unusually strong and able to withstand the fungus mutations.
>Bloaters are the fourth, rarest, and most dangerous stage of the infected in The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II. They take years to develop and reach this stage after years of exposure to the Cordyceps brain infection.[1][2]

The escape sequence felt low budget as shit, compared with the rest of the episode it looked like a paintball set and the peeing soldier being the pilljunkie they had deals with was lmaoworthy
i thought they changed that because in 2003 the internet was less developed and the info wouldn't spread that fast and wide but then i remembered it doesn't matter because people still would think it's some israeli hoax to depopulate the earth with vaccines
The internet is absolutely the reason. They could have arguably set it in 2013 again, but it's been flagged in the games as a stretch of credibility that in a post-internet dominated world we didn't recover from the initial outbreak.
03 was a good move in my opinion, don't expect there to be smart phones etc in this story... the other schizoid talking about democrats or whatever needs to climb into a bin. No one gives a shit about that
Yeah sure, it's still farfetched for it to devolve to the point it did. There are glaring facts about the world that are just overlooked entirely in the game (smart phones, internet blah blah)... to the point where is brother is riding around on horseback with his posse like it's red dead fucken redemption.
I'm glad they flagged it and changed.
I mean riding around horses 20 years after with roads being like they are, is that much of a stretch?

I feel like you guys MUST be bots or something. How can you routinely avoid what I am saying, to continuously just defend the game? I want to know, what drives you to act that way?? Is it literally your favouritest game ever?
Consider the way the world was in 2013. Now tell me, exactly, how the level of devolution of human society was remotely plausible? On any level. It wasn't, the zombie outbreak side of the story in The Last of Us is probably the aspect they worked least on in the writer's room. That is painstakingly obvious. It just doesn't hold any water when you look at it closely. Now obviously, no one expects you to look THAT closely, but the game doesn't pass even the eye test when you start to think about it on a surface level. Hence them addressing this in the show (which is by the way still worse than the game overall) with the time change to 2003

i mean do you really think during a zombi or whatever apocalypse people would give a shit about toilet paper than say guns?

No but what i'm trying to say is that even when something as mild as the covid outbreak made people behave like you see in all those zombie/outbreak movies don't you think it would be worse with a setting such as the TLOU one? Had you made this argument pre 2020 i would probably have agreed but seeing how people behaved (and still do) changed my mind.
In the game it's kinda hinted that lorewise eventually the infected in an area kinda just "die" out on their own if there are no new people to infect for long enough. But in their final "dead" stage they still release spores which can infect passerbys and fuck up areas again.
In the show they don't release spores (Because they don't want the actors in gasmasks). Instead they infect via tendrils in bites. Which means technically given enough time an area should be completely free from infectious risks once the active infected are cleared/in the final stage.
I'm waiting to see what more ways it spread than only via bites.

I understand what youre saying, you can make a point about the government being incredibly incompetent (as in the movies) too. But there's a big difference between fighting something thats a zombi (an impossibility and abandons all rationale) vs a bushguy.

I am not "ignoring what happened" you mouthbreathing npc. I am directly questioning it. I did explain why it was improbably actually, or at least I inferred why and assumed you weren't so braindead that you wouldn't be able to work it out.
Whilst we weren't at the instant connection stage of the information age like we are in 2023, ten years ago the internet was still intrinsically woven into the fabric of our day to day lives. It's insane to think there wouldn't have been a more coordinated and communicated response from humanity to fend off a global pandemic. It's hilarious to me that you use the real life example of the COVID-19 pandemic and the toilet paper shortage as some sort of retard gotcha moment, but fail to register that your exact analogy debunks any semblance of a point you might think you have. Last I checked, the world responded quite immediately to a pandemic... the roads outside are not 8 years away from total degradation. I don't actually have to contemplate getting a fucking horse do I?
All you are doing is confirming the common opinion that the people who (over)champion these games are some of the dumbest motherfuckers, it's a wonder how you successfully steal fresh air from the rest of our species.

The goverment were pretty slow in some ways to react to things. Furthermore, covid wasn't that serious either, really. Thirdly, im making the fucking point because it made people behave like fuckings nuts. If you then have an actual serious happening that fucks up things and people around you then it would be worse.

You are legitimately likening people being outraged over not having toilet paper to completely and fundamental societal collapse.
And then you're trying to act like anyone else is a retard.
The reality is more likely that the more sever the pandemic, the more severe the reaction (and yes the consequences, but TLOU world is still implausible)

Yeah, try one bad in winter in like half of the states lol. I do agree that the lack of guns in Texas especially is hard to fathom, but you're putting way too much faith in our public infrastructure that's literally paid out to the lowest bidder. In the northern states (basically, anything north of Kentucky), the roads would be unusable after a year, probably less than that in some places like Michigan.

Dude what I’ve never even played the game. What do you think the word would look like in 20 years with nobody cleaning up, maintaining anything, cutting the plants, picking up fallen trees etc etc. think of how messy your neighborhood is after a bad thunderstorm now imagine nobody ever picked it up year after year after year for 20 fucking years

Because quite Cleary the word has been reduced to small isolated communities.
Why they don’t have nicer houses? Idk that’s a stupid decision but the areas outside of the quarantine zone would be ruined.
But I also don’t think you realize how dependent we are all on global supply chains for basic shit like paint and cleaning chemicals. A total breakdown of modern society and people need to go back to making their own shit by hand locally

Not those anons, but you're WAY overestimating American infrastructure lol. Cordyceps fungus ostensibly doesn't infect mammals because our nervous system is more complex than insects, but if it did and no one realized what it was, you can bet they'd react the way they did with COVID, and that was fake and gay. Imagine an actual real disease that killed people in the streets and turned you into 28 Days Later style enraged naggers. Quarantine and violent suppression with the military would be the only way (i.e., like what we see in The Crazies), and even that might fail.

No, but outside of safezones there weren't exactly anyone to do maintenance and repair. Spores were still around here and there.
Joel doesn’t have any problem driving a truck all the way from near Boston to iirc Colorado. Attempting to consider the realism of this setting will just demonstrate that it’s trashy entertainment at its core, it’s not meant to be taken seriously. It survived public interest by virtue of the immediate characters it’s centered around, the world they inhabit makes very little sense. There’d be no shortage of guns or ammo, Joel wouldn’t need to scrabble homemade flamethrowers and bows and arrows together or use bricks to kill people, there’d be countless still working machinery lying around, the roads wouldn’t be that dangerous since the zombies aren’t undead and most of them would die in the interim 20 winters especially in the northern regions of the states, there wouldn’t be as many bandit groups because even 20 years later there’d be plenty of shit lying around to just take without a fight. You wouldn’t see a scrapped together armored car from mad max machine gunning people for their shoes like you do in the game, you wouldn’t see people fist fighting each other or punching infectious zombies bare handed when there’d be so many better options immediately available, i could go on all day.
Just don’t think about it.
Anon, you seem to underestimate how people would behave in a situation like that where shit hits the fan. Remember when the chink flu first came and how people almost walked on top of each other to get toilet papers? The stores around looked like any fucking zombie movie.

>Yes you fucking idiot, my point is it's a total stretch for it ever to reach a point where the roads are "like they are"
It rained slightly more than usual last week (with freezing temperatures at night) and several roads around here got fucked. City roads are intentionally built to degrade after around 10 years.

No but nature would reclaim things pretty quickly if people weren't around to maintain it. Add bombings and other types of destruction to it..

sure but I think that depends on the area. I am sure the game or show will add some climate change shit to it to make the degradation a bit more believable. in some climates it would be bad but in places like where I live all that would change is the power would go out and the grass would get taller, the roads would be shit quality... but you wouldn't get like knocked over buildings that look like a nuclear war happened
11 months ago
Anonymous
No but the knocked over buildings did not happen naturally. It happened due to (assumingly..) bombings etc.

I guess it would have to be from bombinb. Although a very easy fix would be to say that the cordyceps like to eat concrete so they just naturally deteriorate a lot of buildings. The concrete mold plot point in the 2016 wolfenstein game was pretty comfy.

Of course it would but you’d still be able to salvage a lot more shit than everyone seems to have. I very seriously doubt the U.S. military would lose all of its aircraft and only apparently have Boston still under its control. We could argue all day but imo the setting is very very silly if you stop to think about it. Like there is no reason anyone in America would be attacking people with wooden planks in melee fights at all, everyone would just be packing and shooting each other.

There's more safezones than Boston around. We also have helicopters still for example. You also need people to maintain and fly the various stuff.

Most the country would be clear in either continuity. Like there’d probably next to no risk of encountering any infected in any large National
Park after like 10 years. And the spores only seem to infect when you’re in an enclosed space so just be careful before you go inside and you’d be fine. The real risk would be starvation or exposure after like 5-15 years, but I imagine lots of people are surviving quietly in both continuities in the states. I mean how often would you encounter a pack of runners a few years after everyone was dead.
Anonymous
They touch on that in the second game when they live in the wilderness of Wyoming. The mention that every year there are stray hordes of infected passing through needing to be cleaned up as they seemingly migrate with seasons/weather, likely because the fungus prefers a certain temperature. Also the evolutionary goal of the fungus is to infect more people, so I assume some infected just start walking in a direction for as long as it can in an effort to find new people to infect.
Tbh the behaviour of the zombies isn't very clearly defined in the game because they have to fit the gameplay first and lore/realism second (Like how there can be active infected inside a locked garage for seemingly years, while others have progressed through the stages and "died" out in the open.)
Anonymous
Yeah but what infected? This is why I just don’t think about it at all and only consider the immediate characters and their personal stories when talking about this game. How are there still hordes of runners 20 years later? Are that many people in large groups getting wiped out regularly enough for that to even be possible?
>take game that is 90% just mocapped cutscenes >recreate them but with the actors in costumes instead of pingpong ball suits >wtf is this the best game adaptation ever???
That's the first thing everyone asked about when they saw Abby. How could she be so muscular if they're living in post-apocalyptic America? Does she have a steady supply of protein and steroids, because her physique isn't natural (apologists like to cite the fact that they used a real female bodybuilder as her body model, but said bodybuilder is obviously on steroids) at all? Aren't food and resources scarce? Why is she allowed to consume enough resources to keep up her physique at the expense of others? Why wouldn't they just give it to the men? Even the men in the game are shown as lean and wiry, not shredded, with very few exceptions. And we're expected to believe she can overpower fully grown men?
She's one of the worst designed characters in video game history. Everything about her makes zero sense and she's an unlikeable psychopath that you're forced to play as throughout the entirety of the game. The worst part is you aren't even given enough player agency at the end to kill her. Cuckmann removes even THAT choice from you. At least the memes are hilarious.
Her physique is literally natural as they chose some fitness bunny for her body model.
Abby just appears big in pictures and how they frame her in cutscenes but in-game if you position her up against the men her arms are way smaller than even Owen and Manny's arms.
Most people don't really know what women look like IRL so whenever something is framed a certain way in pictures they think their kneejerk reaction is the ground truth.
>Her physique is literally natural
lol
Lmao, even
Way to ignore my post. The person they based her body type on is a female bodybuilder who is clearly NOT NATURAL. Abby's bone structure literally changes three times during the course of the game. For most of the game, however, she has the bone structure and musculature of a man with a woman's head thrown on top. It's fucking ridiculous that retards still defend anything about her.

I'm sick of seeing humans doing homosexual shit, I literally don't care. I want to see the mushroom trip POV from an infected, where they are killing demonic looking normies out of self defense or running down SMILE looking demons they just watched kill their family in front of them (when it was them that did it)
we will, its cheaper to film and that's suppose to be the major hook of the series. its basically the video game version of the walking dead where the whole point is the real monsters are the last ofus
The shows throws hints how the infection has spread. It's mentioned that other countries, i.e Indonesia, are already dealing with large outbreaks. They mention hospitals dealing with multiple aggressive patients for a while. The kid in the classroom is twitching as in the early infection stage. And it's hinted that the fungus has spread via infected wheat/corn products: The neighbors take their elderly mother into town for hospital visits and they're also feeding her biscuits. Joel and Sarah are out of pancake mix in the morning. Sarah doesn't eat the raisin cakes and Joel forgets to buy a cake in the evening.
So once the infection hit critical mass it seemingly spread in about 24 hours.
>>it's actually kino
I can almost swear 90% of the threads who use lame kinda dated Cinemaphile slang like "kino" are paid shills promoting some shitty show.

The COVID example doesn't compare 1:1 because by the time anyone knows covidceps are a problem everyone is already dying too fast to use up all the supplies. Scavengers would probably use most goods in the years following without replacing them, but you wouldn't have the same shortage as COVID initially. It really depends too on how many people die how fast. If say 99% of the human population is dead within a month then you're not going to have the last 1% using all the supplies for years and years, if ever. You would just have to be nomadic instead of hunkering down.
This mf can't grow a beard
sad that joel dies at the start of game 2
JOEL DIES AT THE START OF GAME 2?
damn rip
HOLY SHIT I CANT BELIEVE JOEL DIES IN PART 2
Wouldn't be surprised if they change that.
It was so perfectly retarded for the kind of story we’re talking about.
there's no way that's going to happen. Joel dies and abby kills him 100%
I doubt they'll change that.
I hope they learn from the kino that was The Terror season 1 and only have 1 season if that story.
They will 100% change that. You really think Pedro will be one season and done? No.
No shit it will change. Game 2 takes place so many years after the first, a season 2 would be fanfic shit in between the games

Solely out of spite
She turns out to be the bad guy and Joel kills her when she is unarmed, just in case she tries to get Ellie again.
>While she's unarmed
That's a little misleading
If you can't tell from the absurdly heavy implications that she is actually a villain, you're fucking stupid and I feel bad for you.
There wasn't a way for them to save humanity when they helped destroy most of the QZs and got most of themselves and others killed in the process.
>muh twd paint job
kys
I can't wait to see how much they changed the ending just to avoid a 'Joel did nothing wrong' situation again.
he did nothing wrong because for him Daughter>whole world and not because of some chud ramblings about how they would never make the cure. The point of that ending is the stake and how much he is willing to sacrifice for Ellie. If you remove that, as many chuds do (only after playing part 2, funnily) then the ending loses meaning. And also, Abby still has pretty good reason to be mad at joel
They're not gonna change it.
>You'd just come after her
>selfish
would you sacrifice your daughter or a mother to save the world? It's not selfish. That's the wrong word to describe that
It was selfish because Ellie 'wanted'/was fine with dying if it meant a cure could be made.
All of you are forgetting the fact that they CONFIRM in the second game that a cure is impossible, which further makes Joel in the right for not wanting Ellie to waste her life. It also removes any sympathy you have for Abby in the second game because it proves that her father and the rest of the Fireflies that Joel kills to save Ellie are a bunch of sanctimonious psychopaths willing to kill children for "the greater good" when they're so inept that it's literally impossible to make a cure. well yeah the original game is literally just written as a tv show, it's clear neil doesn't actually like working the video game medium with how he just tells his story via purely cinematics he's one of those hollywood rejects that begrudgingly started writing for video games
it's been two and a half years. You can let it go

>I'm so glad I consumed
>I was this close to not consuming because of you all
lol
You're literally on a board about consuming media
She's a surprisingly good Ellie, however.. I'm not sure if she can carry a potential season 2.
she looks way too young and frail for that, they'll have to recast
bros, i'm doing a grounded permadeath run on part 1 and i gotta say this is the definitive way to experience this game. If you haven't done it yet, I recommend it. looking forward to grounded permadeath part 2
I'm not good enough at vidya unfortunately
You enjoy hiding in corners from retarded enemies this much? Combat is the only fun thing about gameplay in tlou for me.
I have no problem headshotting enemies
Grounded kinda forces stealth approach, doesn't it?
yeah it does. basiclly every combat encounter I have with humans goes like this
>stealth kill as many enemies as possible
>headshot the enemy that catches me
>throw bricks at other enemies if needed, kill in melee
>run and hide
>distract with bottles/bricks
>continue stealth killing or sneak past if I can
I sneak past most infected encounters
yes because ammo is scarce as fuck. I couldn't do it. I managed first day with Ellie but that's it. Once the dogs start i'm out
Can't wait for the remaster to release on PC, been waiting for so long since I don't want to buy a PS5.
Why do autists always have to come up with meme gimmick ways of playing videogames
>NOOOOOO STOP HAVING FUN
Why would I watch this when I know how badly it turns out? You're gonna get at one decent season at most before they completely ruin it by adapting Part 2.
I liked part 2. Really great gameplay wise and i thought the story made sense, really.
If you're going to bait you need to add a little bit of meat to your bones here, give a little something to get anons to take a bite.
But i was not baiting, i genuinely enjoyed the game. I didn't like him dying like that, but at the same time i understand why.
Well if it was genuine, maybe trying to explain why you thought part two was good to someone saying it wasn't might be a good idea.
But I dunno, you do you anon.
This is definitely bait though lol.
>This is definitely bait though lol.
are you still waiting for avatar 2 to flop? There is a big wide world outside /misc/ and comment section under critical drinker's videos
most of the people outside your chud echochamber liked the game, mate. You can't even acknowledge that
Is there a review embargo on imdb?
Why does Joel's daughter not have an accent? Like I get she was a nepo diversity hire but still like you can't do the bare minimum? She had an accent in the game and joel still has his, if she was raised by a single father in the south why doesn't she have an accent?
Bad actress. The ugly thief bitch dies in the first 20 mins but the actress couldn't be bothered to, or simply couldn't learn an accent for that few of lines/screentime.
That or someone put that ugly and bad of an actress in the role as a favor; maybe the producers are pushing some global agenda.
Completely normal that she wouldn't have an accent, but her dad would, especially living just outside of Austin.
t. Texasanon
her mom is the black british chick from westworld
she had an accent in the game and I doubt someone in between the game and production of the show said "well actually she probably wouldn't have an accent living in this part of texas"
Everyone has an accent, retard.
Yeah, and she has the wrong one, retard.
Why did Tommy and Joel get separated after the car flipped? another car hit their car and caught fire but there was still room to go around the car, yet they acted like they were blocked off from each other.
This was noticeably bad... Like they had to recreate the video game scene somehow
It wasn't like that in the game though
Because that's how vidya works sometimes
i think it was supposed to look like one of them got stuck down an alley by the car and had to find another way to meet up
The quality of television has tanked so hard that generic naughty dog garbage is now one of the highlights of the year. Sad.
It would’ve been genre defying cable television in 2010 but the zombie trend got old 10 fucking years ago.
who did it better?
That seems like an obvious callback.. Where is the top image from?
they hired The Sweed.... and didnt let him talk lol
look how much better the lighting is on the real show vs the failure that is the adam israelitekike shows
Why do all post apocalyptic medias have a scene with planes falling out of the sky? This one, that other HBO show Station Eleven, the emp scene in modern warfare 2, that movie Knowing, etc.
They’re all ripping each other off. There’s nothing original about this zombie show. TLOU had one 5 minute memorable segment at the end and otherwise both games are generic zombieshit. It goes a little off the rails for exactly one part at the very end one time. Other than that you could replace any line of dialogue or scene with one from any other zombie or dad/daughter drama movie.
makes sense and looks kino
Two reasons
>It looks cool reminds people of 9/11 when the world was in constant fear
>It removes the "Why can't you just fly a plane out of there" excuse.
What? Does the fungus affect airplanes? Within a year everyone would just check anyone before they got on and there’d still be viable aircraft sitting around. The less a zombie story tries to explain things the better.
Where exactly would they fly to? Its a global pandemic. At least the QZs are relatively safe
>inb4 Antarctica
humans can't survive in that climate
Any less populated part of this utterly massive country than suburban Texas I guess
There’s probably lots of people that are fine in TLOU universe we just don’t see.
>It removes the "Why can't you just fly a plane out of there" excuse.
how?
Saw the thumbnail and closed my browser
so how are you posting?
Pascal is a talented actor. Bella Ramsey is too, but she's ugly as sin. Heavily bonged. However, because they are the primary leads, the show will probably be at least passable.
Any tips on dealing with the ugly girl that plays Ellie? That's the only thing preventing me from watching right now. I can't stand ugly people in media.
That she actually does the role..Pretty well.
Answer me this. Why the FUCK do I need to rewatch this movie? It was literally already done as perfect as it could possibly be.
Because it actually expands on events and is pretty well done.
what did it extend? Sarah's last day? wow, that adds nothing to the story.
I think it did, it improved and expanded on things you just read about.
i guess, but the thing is it is truly meaningless in the end because after a 20 year jump the story isn't even about that anymore. there's a reason the game doesn't dwell too much in the prologue, because it knows it only serves as a character and story motivation, but in the show they linger so much in the 'past' that it feels like you're watching a whole other show after the jump.
I mean, i guess that's a fair point to make. But i thought the outbreak scene, although a little too quick and having a plane crash amongst other things so quickly all at once seemed a little too fast. But maybe the spores somehow were made to have things happening at a certain point so things could spread quicker. I dont know
It actually does not
i like comparing it to the game and seeing the similarities and differences
how do you guys stomach a poor facsimile of the original source? Even if it expands on lore, it's all done by imposters.
because it was clearly done by people with respect to the source material?
Yes. You see tendrils coming out of the mouth of a old woman, digusting.
That's nasty. I'll skip.
>done by people with respect to the source material
Cuckmann hates the first game and wrote Part II because of that.
He didn't 'hate' it but the idea of traveling cross country for revenge was his idea and literally canned because of how stupid of an idea it was
>Cuckmann hates the first game and wrote Part II because of that.
it's been over two years, it's okay mate. You fullfilled your duties as a noble fighter in the war against israelites. You can stop being a retard now
Go back to twitter and leftypol you twat. Nothing will make fans of the first game like the story of the second one
>Nothing will make fans of the first game like the story of the second one
then why so many of them do? They are not true scotsmen? I mean, true fans of the first game?
>then why so many of them do?
Point me towards the ones that do because most people I've seen don't really like the story, at least not as much as the first game. People still shit on Cuckmann's attempt to make us feel empathy for Abby
>because most people I've seen don't really like the story
you don't even realize how hilarious this sentence is
How so?
5.8 user score, but they're all just triggered chuds, right?
>review bombing
Looking at the reviews, most talk about the game in depth, gameplay, graphics, and most of all, story.
But if you want to fool yourselves into believing that the game is universally praised that's fine. Whatever you need to do to get those Snoy checks to come through
>depth
meme
>gameplay
enemy AI and mechanics are a massive step up from the first game
>graphics
literally the best looking game in the ps4, and still holds up
>story
if you think the story is bad then it is proof that you are a sub IQ brainlet that is literally incapable of even basic themes or parallels.
i don't even know what's your point. Bombing was done out in the open
Bombing was done out in the open because it was a terrible game. A "93" is hilarious and shows that "critics" are either paid shills, shameless ideologues or both.
>Bombing was done out in the open because it was a terrible game.
why was it terrible?
>JUST LOOK AT THE LOW SCORE ON METASCORE
based circular retard logic
>based circular retard logic
If you honestly think TLOU2 is 93/100 game, you are a retard. If you honestly think the critic's scores on any major aggregate site are true, you are an even bigger retard.
Dilate
>unlikable psychopath
But that's Ellie
True. TLOU2 is such a poorly written game that it makes you retroactively hate Ellie too. Tommy is the only good thing about that shit game, and even then he's turned into a cripple by the end of it, because Cuckmann just can't help himself by being a spiteful kike.
try abandoning /misc/cel identity for a day. It will feel liberating
Damn, I didn't realize two thirds of the fans of the first game were all /misc/ users. I thought they just hated it because it was terrible. My bad. Thanks for enlightening me. Now, continue your dilation procedure please.
>I didn't realize two thirds of the fans of the first game
where do you get this number from?
The audience scores and just generally talking to people. TLOU2 is an awful game with only slightly improved gameplay from the first and worse everything else.
>I was *this* close to never watching it.
You watch everything that comes out you poor unaware NPC
Its ok but it isn't kino, the creators can't help themselves but put in dumb shit. Them going through the fence with the sign was a fine ending shot. Then the room with the radio playing, that was fine too. But instead they cut back again and have a fucking zombie 20ft away from them screeching like a retard as lightning flashes. Come the fuck on.
I didn't see that clicker to be honest, i agree they didn't need to have the sound of it added.
>I think echolocation for mushroom people is a pretty dumb idea, but I can get past it.
Wait why is it dumb?
I don't think a mushroom would have any reason to develop it. I could see them using existing ears to move around because of auditory stimuli feeding from the brain into the shroom but there's no reason for them to grow their own hearing mechanism. The entire point of cordys is that they highjack existing systems. It would be like if they started growing bone claws and shit it wouldn't make sense like it does in dead space where the mutations are the work of an intelligent design.
Nope, not falling for it. The entire cast will be trans BIPOC who are out to defeat white supremacy by Season 2 if not before.
I watched it it was...okay. I don't get the huge ass acclaim it's getting. Shit, TWD's first episode was miles better.
Literally John Bishop on the right. Left sniffs cheese with Morfydd Clark.
the way they euthanized that infected kid was subtly brutal
This was the only really worthwhile scene in the entire episode for me. Everything else was either direct rip from the game or pretty forced
its funny to imagine how many potential cures they killed by automatically killing everyone at the first sign of infection when if you had waited you might have seen many people have their symptoms stop after 12-24 hours
Why would you even bother, just wear armor and travel in groups, if you survive the initial slaughter how many of these still living breathing mindless fungal mutants would survive the first winter? A human’s teeth can’t even bite through a cheap leather jacket easily.
the infected act differently than traditional zombies. The fungus causes uncontrollable aggression. They just beat you to eath with their hands
Damn man if only there was a country where there were literally more guns than people and more ammunition already produced than living people in that country by magnitudes I mean shit can’t even imagine a country like that
>I'll just shoot this infected!
>Uh oh i missed and now they are grabbing and ripping me limb from limb
>missing with an AR-15 <50 yards
At this range? With this caliber? Even if I miss I can’t miss.
you assume everybody is as good of a shot as you. Have you ever tried to shoot someone running in a dead sprint at you screaming at the top their lungs? With 5 of their buddies right behind them doing the same thing?
Literally takes a day to teach a woman how to shoot an AR accurately to minimum 100 yards
Zombieshit is pure fantasy so these conversations are pointless though I do enjoy them. If you’ve ever shot one before you could bag shit 500+ yards away in a week in 1 shot I promise you. Wouldn’t even need an exceptionally skilled shot to teach you. I’ve seen teenaged girls pick it up quicker than a few days.
getting headshots reliably would be difficult
well it sounds like that's going to be pretty gay then, but that's what happens when you try and have both sides of the zombie plot. you either have to let it be fantasy or science you can't have both.
I'm not arguing, I agree with you. I'm just saying all it takes is for you to miss once then game over. You can be the best shot in the world but you'll never bullseye headshots 100% of the time, especially under stress. And that's not even considering weapon failure. I own 3 ARs btw
You’re cool, what kind of ARs?
2 m&p 15s and a ruger 556.
these zombies are pussies if you can kill them with a bullet to any part of the body, literally the easiest zombies to kill in any media
on easy mode perhaps. anything above normal difficultly and will take a few shots to put them down. clickers can tank direct headshots
yeah in the game maybe but there's no way that can happen in real life if they are still alive like 28 days later, if they make it like that video game shit in the show it will be gay. only reason 28 days zombies are even a threat is because its transmissible by a single drop of fluids.
the regular infected are one shot kills in the show but I guarantee they will make clickers
true to their vidya counterparts. They are hyping up the shit out them in all promos
Yeah I think the spores are more deadly than the zombies, but the problem would solve itself pretty fast. I think there's a lot of animals that like eating mushrooms just let pigs loose on them or something. I guess the idea is though that if you can get a gimp version of the cordyceps to multiply then you can just kill off the bad ones by natural selection.
did we see the kid get put down? or just the restraints then dead body?
they tested the kid and he was positive so very nice lady told him they will give him toys and he will be safe and so on, he just needs to take some medicine. And they just casually injected him with lethal shit. Next time you see the kid is when joel throws the body into a fire
clickers look good
Looks good, but making them not infectious by spore will take away a lot of the tension.
Question.
I didn't watch the show but I heard that infections happen through tendrils or some shit. Does this happen in the first episode? Is it disgusting?
No you don't see it but it has a disgusting moment yes.
Can you tell me what this disgusting moment is?
They're weird and look like feathers, not like tentacles. You only see it with the old lady sucking on her family.
It's not really gross, except with the old lady it looked like her mouth was an asshole or something. It's more retarded than just transmitting through bites (Clickers don't have them from what I can tell too). Also got distracted because the old lady looked like Snoke when he got killed.
waiting for the bloater reveal.
already in promos
how do bloaters get made again? we saw this episode that when the infection gets so severe the dude just becomes part of the wall, but some just become bigger?
just put them in a freezer or something
How?
They still live through the cold both in TLOUpt1 and pt2.
well in the games the shrooms are magical so they are immune to everything, but in real life you can subdue mushroom growth in a variety of ways, especially if its a mutation acclimated to warm temperatures
They very clearly explained in the show that it had evolved to survive at different temperatures.
The shrooms are not magical in the games it is the exact same as in the show, except the spores aren't the main way the infection spreads, it now spreads through tendrils.
No he said it adapted to warmer climates because of climate change. You can't adapt to warmer and colder climates at the same time, that's what makes it magical. It making the host bullet proof is also magical. In real life mushrooms are very soft and spongy.
would work for stage 1-3 and maybe 4, but this is happening in a global scale, the world is going to shit regardless
fair enough wish we saw more of it, that kind of shit in fear: the walking dead early season was good
literally just been infected for a long time.
Why was old mate stuck to wall
>It will happen to all infected if they are exposed long enough
Not true. Clickers are typically the final stage of the infection (takes years to turn into one) after which the host is fully spent and dies allowing the fungus to form spores in order to infect new hosts. The Bloater stage is rare and only happens to those organisms that are unusually strong and able to withstand the fungus mutations.
>Bloaters are the fourth, rarest, and most dangerous stage of the infected in The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II. They take years to develop and reach this stage after years of exposure to the Cordyceps brain infection.[1][2]
literally copy and pasted from the wiki
I wrote the wiki, chud.
bloaters are such a video gamy type monster, i was hoping they would just skip them in the series.
what was up with the low flying planes?
they were making emergency landings
>shilling on Cinemaphile
Can you not?
It was aggressively ok.
I loved the first game (haven't played the 2nd) and i didnt mind this adaptation but also didnt really give a fuck as it was happening?
I will keep pirating it and watching it on the background while doing other shit, bar is so low with these adaptations that by simply not fucking it up they are getting praise like this shit isn't just israeliteslop.
>and watching it on the background while doing other shit
>I loved the first game (haven't played the 2nd)
>israeliteslop
how can one person be this much of a chud
Is there a site to stream this for free? I don't want to give a cent to HBO.
why can't you just torrent it like a normal human being?
I wanted to stream it from my phone to my TV, but if there's no other option I guess I can hook up an HDMI cable or something.
torrent it then put it on a flashdrive then insert a flashdrive into tv jesus fucking christ
Don't have any on me. I'll pick one up the next time they're on sale though.
i have a site but it's too good to give away.
If you can't just download it from literally LITERALLY any torrent site in the world
https://hdtoday.tv/watch-tv/watch-the-last-of-us-hd-92254.9282790
Marlene was hotter in the game.
Why did they made Joel older?
He is 56 on the second game
>American Apocalypse
>No one gets raped
naggers would be forming rape tribes.
already done
>white rapist
Why is western media so afraid?
why'd they make joel and tommy beaners? and why does joel have a mystery meat daughter?
only tommy. Joel is white which kinda doesn't make sense how they are brothers.
pedro pascal is a spic and has an audible beaner accent
>white guy is named pedro
>he's not white because of that
this is what people mean when they say race is a social construct
>is from chile
>speaks english with a spanish accent
>"daughter" doesn't and is a light skinned negress
>be white
>be born in chile and speak spanish as first language
>you're now not white
literally a social construct
nope, just saying that a chilean playing a southern boy that has a negress daughter isn't very convincing
there's plenty of people like him in texas. Some of them married black women
but only you dumbass yanks and the people who are so brainpoisoned by your culture think about these things.... when you say "white" you are just talking about "americans" and "white skinned people who are obsessed with america". Literally everyone else in the world is and always has been able to differentiate asian people from caucasian... english people from german people. Only you morons have a problem.
he is literally white. That's it
To be fair Americans are not familiar with Pedro's phenotype, Basque Spics arent the norm in Mexico, Puerto rico or cuba. Pedro may be 100% European but he is weird looking.
He doesnt, he was 9 months old when he moved to Denmark, and just then he moved to San Antonio, his "accent" is just muttoid American shit.
The escape sequence felt low budget as shit, compared with the rest of the episode it looked like a paintball set and the peeing soldier being the pilljunkie they had deals with was lmaoworthy
they made the infection take place in 2003 instead of 2013 because they didn't want the disaster to happen when a democrat was in office.
i thought they changed that because in 2003 the internet was less developed and the info wouldn't spread that fast and wide but then i remembered it doesn't matter because people still would think it's some israeli hoax to depopulate the earth with vaccines
No one gives a shit about that
Well, i mean they did sort of recover from the outbreaks. In game you also had spores so it would still fuck shit up.
in the show it can spread through a food, i think
In the game as well
Yeah sure, it's still farfetched for it to devolve to the point it did.
Yes you fucking idiot, my point is it's a total stretch for it ever to reach a point where the roads are "like they are". I like the game too, but it's not impervious to criticism.
20 years without maintainence wild result in most roads being overgrown and cracked. Only in deserts would they seem relatively okay but they’d still have tons of weeds cracks and built up dust/dirt from that time
People don’t realize how quickly nature would return if people vanished overnight
Hence them addressing this in the show (which is by the way still worse than the game overall) with the time change to 2003
But you are ignoring what happened, you aren't explaining what made so little sense about it, and you also conviently ignore the toilet paper factor during rona..
>toilet paper factor during rona.
i mean do you really think during a zombi or whatever apocalypse people would give a shit about toilet paper than say guns?
No but what i'm trying to say is that even when something as mild as the covid outbreak made people behave like you see in all those zombie/outbreak movies don't you think it would be worse with a setting such as the TLOU one? Had you made this argument pre 2020 i would probably have agreed but seeing how people behaved (and still do) changed my mind.
The reality is more likely that the more sever the pandemic, the more severe the reaction (and yes the consequences, but TLOU world is still implausible)
>the roads are not 8 years away from total degradation
Yeah, try one bad in winter in like half of the states lol. I do agree that the lack of guns in Texas especially is hard to fathom, but you're putting way too much faith in our public infrastructure that's literally paid out to the lowest bidder. In the northern states (basically, anything north of Kentucky), the roads would be unusable after a year, probably less than that in some places like Michigan.
Dude what I’ve never even played the game. What do you think the word would look like in 20 years with nobody cleaning up, maintaining anything, cutting the plants, picking up fallen trees etc etc. think of how messy your neighborhood is after a bad thunderstorm now imagine nobody ever picked it up year after year after year for 20 fucking years
You are stupid
>dude, but what about, these entirely farcical conditions that probably could never ever come about especially not in the way I'm presenting???????
Yeah I'm stupid.....
Yes you are if you think 20 years with nobody maintaining roads and buildings that they wouldn’t be falling down and blocked
You are stupid
Okay Mr. Smartypants, explain to me why nobody has maintained a single goddamn thing. Let's walk this through, nice and slow for you, smoothbrain.
A total breakdown of modern society and people need to go back to making their own shit by hand locally
>because quite clearly this thing happened that just wouldn't ever really happen but let's ignore that and move on for the purpose of me speaking at you more
This is why you come across as a conceited retard, this and reddit signing your posts with "you are stupid" when you are in fact an idiot yourself.
You are still, after roughly 10 back and forth posts, incapable of grasping what the discussion is about.
You are a dumb nagger that is autistic lmao.
The area is ruined because it got fucked up and nobody has fixed it in 20 years. It’s entirely plausible you are fucktarded
>It’s entirely plausible
Kek. I accept your concession you absolute window licker.
Dude you are a retard you literally think you have a better idea of what a post apocalyptic world wild look like and you’re having an endless autistic rant because you think it’s too messed up.
You are an imbecile
>you literally think you have a better idea of what a post apocalyptic world wild look like
It's really not hard to have an idea of this lol... there are multiple examples of better thought out zombie pandemics specifically. You're just assblasted that your favourite game is being scrutinized.
Pripyat, a place that's been abandoned for 40 years, looks less ridiculously decrepit.
Lmao no it doesn’t. And fyi it’s looked like this for 20 years because almost everything that isn’t concrete has rotted and rusted away
Quarantine and violent suppression with the military would be the only way (i.e., like what we see in The Crazies), and even that might fail.
>you're WAY overestimating American infrastructure lol
no fucking way it'd turn out like that bro, and i do construction man.
No, but outside of safezones there weren't exactly anyone to do maintenance and repair. Spores were still around here and there.
Just don’t think about it.
kek no one knows how short a time 20 years actually is, to put it in perspective its like saying every 2001 toyota or ford would be inoperable its just dumb
The don’t “control Boston” they have a few blocks of the downtown lol
In the game it's kinda hinted that lorewise eventually the infected in an area kinda just "die" out on their own if there are no new people to infect for long enough. But in their final "dead" stage they still release spores which can infect passerbys and fuck up areas again.
In the show they don't release spores (Because they don't want the actors in gasmasks). Instead they infect via tendrils in bites. Which means technically given enough time an area should be completely free from infectious risks once the active infected are cleared/in the final stage.
Yeah but what infected? This is why I just don’t think about it at all and only consider the immediate characters and their personal stories when talking about this game. How are there still hordes of runners 20 years later? Are that many people in large groups getting wiped out regularly enough for that to even be possible?
That's a pretty shit change since spreading by spores is one of the only unique things about the "zombies" in TLOU.
Anyone who uses the word "kino" is a retarded mong Redditor and shouldn't be taken seriously
kino means 'yesterday' in japanese.
the only problem i hate was they made ellie ugly
>take game that is 90% just mocapped cutscenes
>recreate them but with the actors in costumes instead of pingpong ball suits
>wtf is this the best game adaptation ever???
Woah...are we really....The Last of Us?
why do they start T posing
Dominance
Standard pose for the techies to calibrate the models to the suits to get ready for another take
>and then they all T-pose to determine which is the dominant stunt actor
Why do they all start t-posing?
Asserting dominance
Glad you liked it OP. Congrats on a lifetime in store of blindly consuming flashing images without regard to quality
TLOU trannies are the second most mentally ill fanbase in existence. Wheedonfags being the first.
Why was this even made? The video game was already a fucking movie itself.
Because they can't charge you $16 a month to watch it on Youtube.
Sorry bros, car POV shots at night are my jam
Who is playing her?
i thought about pugh obviously. She has the face, voice and acting skills but she's kinda short and not jacked
Gina. Why is this chick so pumped
She eats like 10 burritos full of meat in a day also probablly injects a bunch of steroids
Those memes are better than the game itself
That's a man
>VYDYA ARE............... LE ART
LOL LMAO. Based Roger did the right thing to call them on
The outbreak scene was better in the show than in the "game"
they nailed the two most important things - car scene and sarah's death. It was perfect
I'm sick of seeing humans doing homosexual shit, I literally don't care. I want to see the mushroom trip POV from an infected, where they are killing demonic looking normies out of self defense or running down SMILE looking demons they just watched kill their family in front of them (when it was them that did it)
Why does it feel like we will see more evil humans than monsters
we will, its cheaper to film and that's suppose to be the major hook of the series. its basically the video game version of the walking dead where the whole point is the real monsters are the last ofus
and its fucking gay
calm the fuck down sir
it just started, it's schrödinger's kino
at least Pedro fucked not thandie in her prime
It's normiecore, just like the games. Congratulations, you're a homosexual.
Something that bugs me about all zombie type movies is speed of the outbreaks.
Things go from no problem to zombies everywhere in like 6 hours. That’s not how it would work
Did the spores have a timer for all of them to start popping off at the same time?
It had happened for some time. The real shit hit the fan as more and more were admitted to hospitals and evolving into runners:
They didn’t really make that clear it was like the infection spread in a day
The shows throws hints how the infection has spread.
So once the infection hit critical mass it seemingly spread in about 24 hours.
they whitewashed the brick. Fucking jooos
>weekly releases
I'll tell you what I think of it when I watch it in a few months.
why horses and not mountain bikes? Why do post apo do this?
>>it's actually kino
I can almost swear 90% of the threads who use lame kinda dated Cinemaphile slang like "kino" are paid shills promoting some shitty show.
>its actually extremely realistic. Remember that 2 week long fad where there wasn't any toilet paper!!??
Yeah because that was the argument i made, get some fucking reading comprhension idiot.
>n-no i wasn't comparing the lack of a single commodity to a zombie apocalypse, that's why I kept referring to it
I was talking about how people behaved over a single simple thing such as toilet paper. For example you retard.
I'm trying to say, and i'll repeat myself endlessly that when something as serious as the situation in TLOU happened it wouldn't be over within two weeks....................
A couple people sold it for higher prices, that's it. Unless you actually fell for the sensationalist hype by the media that people were tearing toilet paper from eachothers hands and shit
Oh my god, im not atlking about that. Im saying that seeing how fucking crazy people behaved filling up their carts with everything like they'd never go shopping again was crazy.
You're fucking retarded. That's what i was talking about with the sensationalism. You are just a drone who eats up media narratives.
Eating up media narratives? You realize i could go outside and see what happened with my own eyes?
So you can clamber your thoughts together to arrive at the conclusion that this just simply wouldn't be over in 2 weeks... but the idea that humanity wouldn't lose to an unintelligent fungus is where you draw the line of credibility?
You my friend, are a fucking consoomer.
But why would we necessarily win over it when it works like it does? Not like theres any cures for it.
>Not like theres any cures for it
Not like we see anyone actually try until it's too late in the game (20 some years kek).
Look it's a patently absurd concept the more you think about it, as are most zombie movies (some of them do a waayy better job than this though). I still enjoyed the games, and will watch the rest of the show most likely. But let's not pretend it's smart or well thought out on any level. It's highschool tier world building at its best.
I didn't say it was fantastic. Only that i don't see it as implausible as you that it would fuck up society to the level it has.
Even the WRITERS OF THE SHOW think it's implausible lol... they wound back the clock by 10 years simply to address this. That's actually what kickstarted half the discussion in this thread lmao
>That Guy appears in the very first scene
yep, it's kino
The COVID example doesn't compare 1:1 because by the time anyone knows covidceps are a problem everyone is already dying too fast to use up all the supplies. Scavengers would probably use most goods in the years following without replacing them, but you wouldn't have the same shortage as COVID initially. It really depends too on how many people die how fast. If say 99% of the human population is dead within a month then you're not going to have the last 1% using all the supplies for years and years, if ever. You would just have to be nomadic instead of hunkering down.
People who think thats what the world looks like after 20 years have never been outside lmao
