Surely a movie with the youngest ever Oscar winner in it will go down well with the kids

I was really into wolves and asked our 3rd grade teacher to show some 5 hour documentary on wolves I had. She did it and made us do a project on it that took half the year. I graduated high school about ten years ago and people still bring it up. I just thought it would be a few classes of comfy video watching not a big long project.

Did a scene analysis on Equilibrium with the scene where Preston finds the contraband and saves the dog. The only questions people had for me were where they could rent it and if they could see more. Feels good introducing people to Kino.

*Ahem* Today we will be viewing "Murmur of the Heart", or "Le souffle au cœur" in it's native French. It's one of those nice, gentle French movies where you have incest which is portrayed as a nice secret between mother and son. I like this, and I think you will too.

Shit, this brings me back. When I was a kid in the 90's, the teacher made us do this. I brought in my favorite movie on VHS, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla. I looked forward to my turn to show my movie for WEEKS. When my time came, the teacher refused to show it, because the box looked too violent. She didn't give it back to me after school either until my mother had to come in to get it. Only one other kid brought in a movie that was denied, which was Predator, but that was kind of understandable since it was rated R. Felt like I was singled out. I hated that fat b***h to my core and it cemented my mistrust in supposed "authority figures" for life.

Now imagine adults today that are of your teacher's age then, refusing to show whatever gen alpha's into. Moral of the story: Don't be mean to the younger generation.

On the other hand, at least you avoided the entire class making fun of you for bringing in a Godzilla movie to watch.

Man I used to do this thing at college where I would host a movie screening in my dorm and would introduce the movie as if I was the movies director. So for example, I remember I did a showing of Jurassic Park and pretended I was Steven Spielberg.

It started out with my roommate and this guy from biology class. Word apparently spread and each week I would have more people from college coming in to watch the movie I had picked that week.

Well... turns out that people just thought I was really weird and came in to film me and mock me. The school newspaper would do this thing 100 days before graduation where it would all be banter articles having digs at people throughout the campus. That year they had me on the frontpage picturing me as a schizo.

Never watching a movie with anyone else ever again.
