Stage gets away with things being camp/cringe because it's far more limited in what special effects it can employ. People tend to just accept when a role is played by different people that you'll get a different experience (any stage play where the OG cast don't travel with the show).
As for TV/movies I still feel like most jap acting is terrible, costumes look cheap, wrong voices compared to what I'm used to, clearly don't look like the characters, can't meet expectations of flashy fighting from manga/anime/game, and japans CG is like a decade behind somehow (all the talent must go work in games).
I think they also do weird shit re-writes like hollywood/netflix do for adaptions, I heard bad things about the DN movies for example. I think a few down to earth romcom/dramas have been good (beyond not looking/sounding right), the ones where slapstick/exaggeration comedy was a major component didn't seem to (probably a budget thing). 80's style slapstick comedies like police academy etc are basically the same thing as most basic romcom anime, so in theory they should be pretty adaptable if given the right budget for all the gags.
If only live action nips put their autism on actual sword play instead of animating unrealistic fight scenes in kenshin it would've been so good. Trust/betrayal is still one of the best OVA's without any of the flashy sword fights.
One thing I love about JP anime adaptations is that it's incredibly faithful. Faithful to a fault. It's really fun & goofy. I appreciate something as goofy as Prison School being overacted out the ass.
It doesn't matter if it's netflix or not, shonen anime can't be adapted to live action well at fricking all. YYH especially is the type of a show full of crazy anime expressions that are obviously highly unrealistic in japanese.
That's why a lot of live action anime suck, humans are incapable of replicating iconic cartoony expressions and it just looks moronic. Also, not that YYH has crazy action or anything it still uses a frick ton of "magic" type abilities that will look terrible. It's a tv show.
didnt say it was good...said it was passable.
A TV show will have a significantly higher budget than a stage production. YYH would be easier to make the Bleach, so its possible they could do a decent job with a YYH live action tv show.
It makes good filler while waiting for the OPs and EDs play. It truly was a different time when anime could succeed almost entirely off of its soundtrack.
It was a good compliment to Dragon Ball z on toonami. Similar enough to make a solid block, but different enough in concept to be interesting rather than a generic shonen clone.
I just rewatched it on israeliteflix recently and the first few episodes are still very good. just really good soundtrack in the dramatic scenes goes a long way.
The only anime that should be adapted are simple romance and drama series. Shonen fight shit only works on paper
There are full on stage production Bleach musicals
Who’s the actress that plays rangiku?
ur mom
she wish.

Also, I loved the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure film. I should make a fun adaptations list.
Jojo film could have been perfect with an actual Koichi. Anyway, part 2 never
you clearly haven't seen japans live action anime
Calling it now, Hiei will be a jogger
ENHANCE
Cast him
The Rock, but Doug Jones is CGI'd on to his torso
I liked botan but she stopped being important really quickly in this show
Black people are fricking epic.

see
They manage to do live action Bleach well enough, on stage. So with a VFX on a TV show YYH should be doable if they actually try
yeah I don't believe you about bleach on stage being good lol

holy bro
ANBARANSU NA KISU
I'm kind of excited to see the monstrosity of live action 120% Toguro is they get to him
I only care if they do my boy Kuwabara right.
I just hope Kuwabara isn't black
Atleast the cast is japanese and Yusuke isnt a Black person
NGL, YYH really isn't that great

I don't watch netflix, I don't watch tv in general.
>Another Netflix anime live action show
Holy shit that's good
