It's the best one that Nolan directed at least, TDK and TDKR are both dogshit. Begins was actually decent, probably because the studio didn't give Nolan free reign.
Dark Knight
The Batman
Batman Returns
The Dark Knight Rises
Batman Begins
Batman Forever
Batman
Batman & Robin
Anybody who says the Dark Knight is shit is being contrarian. Its objectively a good film even if you don't like it because you hate cape-shit or you have an idea of what the batman universe is like in your head. a film that you don't like can still be a brilliant film.
There is no way you actually believe this and there is no way you would watch the Adam West one as a movie and not just as an excuse to form some ironic hipster opinion.
Comics were literally cartoons for children, make it goofy... make it silly... this whole modern trend of having men in a banana hammocks and matching tights violently killing people while saying swear words is just moronic and gay... I prefer my batman to have less cum gargling gruff guy voice and more "BANG" "BOOM" "POW" if you know what I mean.
Kids prefer novelty and will always take what's new over what's old. But yes, kids also love dark, gritty versions of their goofy comic shit. Should tell you something.
I cannot sanction Carrey and TLJ's buffoonery. They went so over the top camp that it makes the Adam West series seem grimdark.
TLJ is pretty bad in it. Carey being over the top is just Jim Carrey. What I enjoy about Batman Forever is that it succeeds as a mindless popcorn blockbuster, while Burton's films are just so mediocre, in spite of the superior aesthetic choices and performances.
>how do we make capeshit more appealing to adults? I know, let's make it even MORE childish!
150 IQ take anon. >What I enjoy about Batman Forever is that it succeeds as a mindless popcorn blockbuster
In other words you simply enjoy slop. And there's nothing wrong with that. But to suggest it's bad for films to aim higher is creatively bankrupt. Burton's flicks are like German Expressionist cinema compared to that gay dude's close ups of Clooney's ass.
>how do we make capeshit more appealing to adults? I know, let's make it even MORE childish!
Not what I'm saying. I was just pointing out that it's a childish impulse that wants to see all these goofy concepts done in a realistic, dark style. And probably not a good one. >In other words you simply enjoy slop.
All Batman films. >But to suggest it's bad for films to aim higher is creatively bankrupt.
I didn't suggest that. Other Batman films aimed higher and achieved little more than being slop. >Burton's flicks are like German Expressionist cinema compared to that gay dude's close ups of Clooney's ass.
George Clooney isn't in Batman Forever.
Batman Forever is a more intelligent film than Batman & Robin. That's where they actually went for the mindless popcorn crowd.
They're both really dumb. Other things made Forever the better film.

Also not what I'm saying. Enjoy life as an idiot.
Batman Returns is the connoisseur's choice. Also a good Christmas movie.
It's got nice looking stuff in it and a funny enough script by that dude that wrote Heathers. A close second to Forever for me.
Ok then whatever spiderman is. Spiderman thematically seems to only work properly with the correct amount of goofiness. Idk if it's the way the character is written or the storylines in the og comics or what, but spiderman has always mogged the shit out of every other superhero as far as mass appeal and it definitely has a sillier tone than the rest.
There are some slightly goofy elements, but the Raimi films were still pretty serious and dark whenever they needed to.
If you're going to go fully silly, you may as well just do it like Lego Batman.
Not some inbetween shit.
It's not even just camp but to have the feel of a comic book. A lot of anons think that just means "make it silly".
It's a lot more complex than that, but the general logic is correct. It shouldn't be overly realistic/grounded. This doesn't mean shit like pic related is worth any storytelling value though.
I'm 100% honest here. The type of shit in that picture is exactly what superhero movies are missing. If you put that into a batman movie I would watch it.
You and 5 other mentally challenged people. It was shit then and it would be even more shit now due to the soulless CGI they'd use.
At least Robot Chicken does stop motion which births some life into their sketches.

mentally challenged people love super heroes dude, it's like their number one interest. Unironically the smartest move marvel could make would be to skibidi toiletify the MCU.
Forgot the Schumacher movies.
Batman 89 > Batman Returns > Batman Begins > POWER GAP > TDK > TDKR > Batman & Robin > Batman Forever > dogshit > BvS > The Batman
It's very well made. I have a problem with Bale's version of Batman, however out of all the Batman movies he's the most tolerable in this one. Nolan's obsession with explaining everything and grounding the movie in realism was probably a mistake, he went a bit too far. I guess he wanted his version to get as far away from the Schumacher schlock as possible, but still. A vigilante like Batman, with his code and all, wouldn't survive two weeks in reality. It also limits a superhero movie because you can't use most of the things established in the comics without altering them drastically.
>very well made
It's well produced. Nothing directed by Nolan is well made, unless the guy has a side business making wooden cabinets that I'm unaware of.
Yeah, it's probably the best overall.
Best introduction to the character but what really carries it is the art direction. By far the best depiction of Gotham, especially with those miniatures.
First time saw this I was 6. I had no idea what "I'd like to fill her void" and "unlimited poon tang" meant. I did know I wanted to do things to catwoman, I just didn't know what those things were.
It's the best one that Nolan directed at least, TDK and TDKR are both dogshit. Begins was actually decent, probably because the studio didn't give Nolan free reign.
Lmao, nah
lol dumbarse, it's the least cape shit of all the cape shits and the only Batman movie that makes sense and isn't Hollywood homosexualry
TDK is better. He's right that Begins is decent though, that's precisely it. "Decent" and not much else.
Dark Knight
The Batman
Batman Returns
The Dark Knight Rises
Batman Begins
Batman Forever
Batman
Batman & Robin

Nolan's entire trilogy is absolute dogshit
Not even bumping this shit thread
The best is the Adam West one. Turning comics into serious grounded stories was a mistake
There is no way you actually believe this and there is no way you would watch the Adam West one as a movie and not just as an excuse to form some ironic hipster opinion.
I'm just incapable of taking grounded superhero movies seriously. The Schumacher one's are nice too
Taking it seriously is one thing, but enjoying purposefully bad/parody movies is an even bigger waste of time
/thread.

Thing is, no one wants to see that. Kids don't either. Ask a kid whether they prefer Burton Batman or Adam West.
Kids are moronic, they like whatever you tell them to like.
sure but I think the root of their comment is not that kids like it but that it should be made for children.
Even as a kid I knew some of the movies were shit and others weren't.

That's the MCU style. I think a better choice of word would be campy.
mcu is right in the middle. Grounded visuals with serious story but quips and gags every 10 seconds. Worse than either end of the spectrum

Well Spidey is the Marvel character who's SUPPOSED to quip.

I prefer 1989
Begins is very good though
Hello, King

Batman 89 > Batman Returns > Batman Begins > POWER GAP > TDK > TDKR > Batman & Robin > Batman Forever > dogshit > BvS > The Batman
Return of The Joker > All
Batman Returns is the best Batman. This is like the 6th best.
>Batman Returns is the best Batman
correct
Batman Forever is the best one. None of the Batman movies are that good, but Nolan's trilogy is really bad. Ass filmmaking.
I cannot sanction Carrey and TLJ's buffoonery. They went so over the top camp that it makes the Adam West series seem grimdark.
Nolan is a hack just like Snyder only the second is good for the Joker but the rest are trash
TDK is massively overrated
It's very well made. I have a problem with Bale's version of Batman, however out of all the Batman movies he's the most tolerable in this one. Yeah you could probably cut 30 minutes out of Begins and end up with a better film honestly
>very well made
It's well produced. Nothing directed by Nolan is well made, unless the guy has a side business making wooden cabinets that I'm unaware of.
Yeah, it's probably the best overall.
Best introduction to the character but what really carries it is the art direction. By far the best depiction of Gotham, especially with those miniatures.
>By far the best depiction of Gotham
Seriously?
In films, yes.
If only Nolan could make it look this good in the movie. I think Burton's Gotham was more distinct.
Scarecrow is more interesting than Joker
>Microwave ray that boils the city's water isn't harmful to 60% water humans.

Ah no wonder its peak kino
2005
Even more kino
Dark Knight and The Batman are better.
