In fairness, Peter's in his early 40s, so Matt is probably at least 50. That's a long time to be illegally beating up bums and shit and he's already accidentally caught a body or two.

      Holy headcanon
You do realize that according to Marvel he's forever stuck in his late 20s? it doesn't matter how we "feel", we decide nothing. "Early 40s" is not a thing for Spider-Man, if anything, it's early 30s or 35 max.

Officially Pete is 28 so Matt has to be pushing 40. How long does it take for someone to become a lawyer? Because he had his own firm when Pete JUST became a superhero at 15

Most states require at least seven years of education. Four for undergraduate, three for law. Funny thing is in his first appearance Matt looked like he was barely any older than Peter and Johnny Storm, but unless he somehow skipped undergrad he would've been 24 to 25 at the youngest.

Is this a recolor, or just a really clean scan?

Pretty sure it's a recolor. One of those digital rips from the old Marvel website.

Assuming Peter is 15-16 when he gets his powers and Matt is, somewhere in the 24-27 range to be a law school graduate. Peter at this point is pushing 30, so 28-30 with a decade+ of experience, that should make Matt theoretically about 36-39 years old by this point, which would match up with Reed/Cap/Iron man aging. Kids being born and other characters like Jubilee being aged up, unless the Franklin Richards de-ages heroes thing is still true then idk.

This isn't 6160, so Maker's superhero ban was never in effect

Deoends on the context, spidey could be an butthole here, but either its in character. He puts himself on pedestal of responsibility, and basically doesn't want anyone else to have to do what he does. Hero complex and all that.

In context Matt was still recovering from major injuries that left him seriously out of practice. He went back out doing hero shit without letting himself fully heal, got overwhelmed by a group of car jackers, and accidentally killed one of them in the process. Kingpin was using the incident as an excuse for law enforcement to crack down on superheroes in New York, and Matt refusing to just back down and take some time off was putting a target on every hero's back.

Also reminder that Peter has superpowers but Matt is just a regular dude outside of his heightened senses.

Why is Matt staring at his mask?

      He can 'see' it.

Looks like Matt got his shit kicked more than usual, and that's saying a lot, so maybe it is time for him to step back. Guy's pretty much base human aside from senses, and the amount of damage he's probably taken over the years is probably going to take it's toll sooner rather than later.
But on a different sort of note, honestly? Letting the heroes retire and new ones take over is the best we can hope for. Otherwise it's like how it's been

Does Matt only have enhanced sense or does he have a minor healing factor like Pete?
Age probably affects you less when you have a healing factor.

No healing factor. He's basically peak human fitness, but with none of the durability bonuses folks like Cap get.

This. I think people are forgetting that in the context of this page. Pete is SUPERHUMAN, Matt is NOT. Peter probably could be Spider-Man well into his 40s and 50s simply because his body exceeds what a normal human's body can do. Matt's doesn't. If Matt actually is in his mid 30s or early 40s, there's a legitimate argument to be made that he should hang up the tights before he gets killed.

It's not an argument you could make with every superhero but it's an argument you can make with Daredevil. I'm interested to see where this goes.
