Up until 2008, he was an A-lister. He even talked about how it went to his head and he started turning down roles because blockbusters fell into his lap so easily he didn't realize that fame could dry up.

Matt Dillon was one who never cracked that one big "Die Hard" or "Indiana Jones" type of role.

Hartnett was the same. Didn't take Batman and pissed off somebody important and had to eat shit getting back into the big boy's club.

The Sin City series dried up too early. They needed a set of writers to expand the lead roles so guys like his assassin could get their own movie, and do a proto-John Wick type of thing.

Josh Brolin was a good pick for the sequel but the stories weren't very good ultimately. Also, Joseph Gordon Levitt seemed poised for something bigger, but his segment of SC2 was a bit strange too.

Harnett did a kung fu-ish movie with a touch of the Sin City style. So he was clearly keen to do more of that kind of thing.

          >kung fu-ish movie

It was more than that, really. I knew it wasn't going to do well in theaters but it was so different it still remains my favorite. I dunno how the hell Gackt came in talks for supporting role, though. The styles were constantly different and the sets looked fun. Whole thing played out like a video game, even down to the mirror boss fight near the end.

Having Mike Patton narrate isn't bad, either.

Regardless of many kinos he's been in, he never truly made it big.

the dude is very much an A lister and you're a fool to say otherwise, he's just wise enough to keep his head down and never says anything controversial to upset potential fans.

Matt Dillon, Josh Hartnett & Josh Brolin are simpy too masculine to be Hollywood stars. They're not queer enough (Brolins recent ode to chalamets twinkie notwithstanding)

              Not Harrison Ford, no.
Willis looked extremely masculine but always had a queer edge to him. He was king saint patriarch by the time I knew him as an actor (saw The Sixth Sense when I was 8 in 2006ish) but he had a randy, disco stud, orgy guy vibe to him in the early-mid 90's.
Schwarzenegger kind of transcends all of that cuz he's ugly. But no tho, body building is really gay

But I imagine the franchise had to have made him a good amount of money, and sometimes you just wanna take time off and concentrate on things like enjoying family. Perhaps it wasn't as important to him to continually find work.

He's obviously rich, and he's also married to Katy Perry who is also a former big celebrity that certainly has made a lot of money. If I recall correctly, the original ending had Connor dying and his character taking on his face in his honor, which fans immediately backlashed against so they had to change it, that's the only reason he got as much importance. With all the shit Connor's character has gone through in that franchise I think the writers have really just wanted to double down on the whole "there is no fate but what we make" and just wanna btfo his chosen one archetype.

With that said I was surprised to see Worthington in this recent movie, "Breathe".

The movie would originally be about Worthington and Kyle Reese, with John Connor only showing up in the final scene to set up the sequel. When Christian Bale signed up for the Connor cameo, the studio immediately demanded the script be rewritten so Connor would be a co-lead with his own plot, which lead to that face swapping plot you mentioned.

my fat girlfriend in high school had a crush on him. I think he's probably just not likeable or relatable enough to be big action movie star man. He's like channing tatum, just eye candy. seems like a dick, etc.

I've never got Channing Tatum as eye candy to women. Hartnett was pretty so yeah. he was also skinny but had all the muscles and that makes girls feel moist & squishy
Tatum looks like Alfred E Neumann and seems made out of some gay sponge. I get why gay guys would like him, but not women

It's a fricking industrial template for those actors, they always either pick some B-tier horror flick or get into overblown production with no chances of succeeding, in big help due to their utter lack of charisma/acting talent/both.

You just have to look at any movie released between 2004 and 2007. This was the beginning of the downfall for everything. Movies, economy, music, video games, demographics, everything.
Countless careers of A-listers got wiped out. Not because these people spiraled and all died of overdoses, but because nothing good has been made since then.
Josh Hartnett starred in some of the best movies ever made. Not a single movie released since then is as good as the movies he was in. How are you supposed to be an A-lister without being astroturfed when all the movies suck? Let's say you had the best agent in the world and you're in the year 2010. You can get the main role in any movie. What are your options? Let's look at the most popular movies from 2010
    >Inception
    >Unthinkable
    >A Serbian Film
    >Shutter Island
    >Black Swan
You think you'd be a fricking A-lister if you starred in these shitty movies? The only actors you can name off the top of your head from these movies is DiCaprio because he was the Titanic guy, Natalie Portman because she was in Star Wars and Ellen Page because she chopped her breasts off. Movies don't produce stars now.

you can't put the safety on an AR when the hammer is already dropped, that's probably why it wasn't on safe, when you clear an AR you eject the live round, fire, drop hammer, and then store it. Plus if you're not from the US you wouldn't understand that Delta is basically the most elite mil unit in the world. Like not even the SAS can compete.

He couldn't stop saying he fell in love with Butler on the press tour?! I knew something was off when he suddenly looked morose, depressed sitting next to Luca Guadagnino at a fashion show. Next (around Jan 17 taping of junkets) he complained Butler didn't return his texts/phone calls, how spending 1 night since the production ended watching Golden Globes was "not enough". In London (~1/22) he seemed to accuse Butler for leading him on, by ordering food when they watch GG, or gifted him a ceramic ashtray Butler made (when Butler does this for everyone.) His face is often flushed red sitting next to Butler, couldn't stop putting a hand on him on Hoda & Jenna. EVEN CHALAMET MENTIONED DURING DUNC 2 PRESS, SOMETHING ABOUT SOMEONE BEING "ALL OVER AUSTIN". It fueled fujoshis cooking up gay porn scenarios in overdrive. He told Daily Mail on 3/12 as if group activities (dinner, baseball) in London were alone time with Butler, when a cafe owner said he was at her place every weekend that she became his mother figure. Hey at least Callum finally gave an interesting performance.

Lukas Gage has been positioned as the hot new gay actor for some time. They even orchestrated a gay wedding for him on the Kardashian show. The thing is, the guy was always linked to up and coming actresses over the years and they say he was just pretending to be gay because that was the easiest path to stardom. There really hasn't been a breakout young gay actor in some time and that left an opening.

He divorced his husband and is back to being straight, so who knows. Hollywood is a fricked up place where publicists use you like a paper doll.
