Desu, this is somewhat a comedy. Kaufman wrote two for Jonze and two for Gondry all were comedic to an extent.

I laughed at Synecdoche more than I would in a typical comedy movie. The way every character shits all over PSH and how pathetic he is is pretty funny
It was pretty funny at times. In absurdist ways I guess. Like that one woman's house being on fire for no reason and people acting like it's not even there. Or the weird random ways actors switch roles for no reason, or that one angry depressing speech from that one guy that.comes out of nowhere
