I saw it for the first time just recently. Pretty decent and good performances, esp. from Rooney.

the movie is great, also if you like the characters - read the books. the books are the like the most kino airport pageturner imaginable. i have re-read the trilogy multiple times.

      >“And Daniel Craig, to give credit where credit’s due, immediately sat up in his chair and said ‘Orinoco Flow.’ We didn’t know if he was having a stroke, no one knew what it meant.” He ran to retrieve his iPod and played the track for Fincher, Skarsgård, and writer Steve Zaillian. “We could not stop laughing. We just thought it was the greatest thing for a serial murderer to have this music as his music to kill by.”

How is Girl with the Dragon Tattoo forgotten? Have you seen Knives Out? Those are spiritual sequels to that movie, and there's a 3rd one coming out.

How do you not understand what I mean, unless you haven't seen both movies. Both movies have Daniel Craig playing a detective, and he's hired by Christopher Plummer.

I must be speaking to a woman, if you're so confidently wrong.
            >same lead
            >there's a woman assisting in both movies
            >same genre
            >same head of house in both movies
Anyway, I'm letting myself out now. I'd rather not speak to women, and it's how I remained the smartest anon on Cinemaphile.

It's just an autistic take. Rian and Fincher are so far apart stylistically and in every other way. It's like those people who claim Life is a prequel to Venom, although that one at least makes some sense.

That is a good question. I've seen the March sisters as three different groups, so at least three times.
I don't really care about the other ones.

Honestly Rooney Mara was great in this. I still remember lots of people on Cinemaphile hating the movie because they preferred the Swedish films.

Probably because they were objectively correct. This version was the Girl with McDonalds Tattoo.

This isn't a good example of burgerslop at all. Also, Amerifats are still ultimately comprised of European immigrants, Sven.

              >This isn't a good example of burgerslop at all
It's actually one of the best examples. Everything is watered down to be more palatable, performed by inferior actors.

It's not a good example at all. A good example would be the American remake of Shutter. I'm done conversing with contrarians.

As a Swede the American version is superior. The original novel is trashy pulp, the Swedish film is a bad made for TV movie with the usual stiff acting found in Swedish movies (they never actually sound like real swedes having conversations) and boring cinematography. Fincher elevated the material.

        >they never actually sound like real swedes having conversation
Not a swede but I know this feel, my home country actors are the same. I think part of it has to do with theatre acting vs acting for film, and the fact that a lot of brits/americans study the intricacies of both. Or maybe Hollywood actors are just better in general and there's a reason why they're there despite the shit we give them.

Rooney looks so stylish in that movie. Fincher is one of my favorite directors for his eye for aesthetics. The swedish version looks like a made for tv movie in comparison.
