I don't know about better, but more interesting for sure. Mark having to come to terms with what happened, the fact that they have a child together binding them together, entertaining the possibility of the Anissa he knows later on being a different person than she was when she forced herself on him, and being someone who could genuinely love him.
what was he in the comic? debbie looked pretty tan

I'm fairly sure it was ever explicitly stated. I've heard Cinemaphile say that Kirkman said she was white, but his source was probably that he made it the frick up.

Debbie looked like a petite Italian woman to me, not Asian at all like in the show.

Eh, Italians are swarthy so still not really white
Atom Eve can unlock her full potential only when near death. In this case, she was dying of old age, and at the moment of her death, her powers unlocked and she "fixed" herself by de-aging.
It's still awkward immortality since she has to age to near death all the time.
>gets the Viltrumite Handshake thru the gut >comes back ok >ages to death >comes back ok
Am I the only one concerned about the horrifying implications being literally unable to die has for a person in the long run?
She can die. Alt reality versions of her have died. We can assume she couldn't survive a quick succession of near deaths or perhaps a quick blow to the head.
She can change herself with her full power during those moments, couldn't she just make herself near-immortal when 'dying' from old age the first time?
That's all this modern comics. It's funny how much the show mogs the comic, it actually bothers to give the characters some sort of history and characterizations that aren't barebones.

Invincible peaks in the first 25 issues and never gets any better after another 75+. I respect the run, but it's mostly shit and I hope the TV show rewrites the majority of it.
> Invincible peaks in the first 25 issues and never gets any better after another 75+
Ah, the Berserk of the Western world. Except that Invincible was actually finished, of course.
What the frick am I reading?
Aangstrom returning and Dinosaurus ecoterrorist arc are the best.
The start of invincible is a little rough, which is why the show is so much better (so far)
I liked Dinosaurus. I think he's the perfect counter to all the show-only homosexuals who watch eceleb videos that say "MARK IS INVINCIBLE BECAUSE HE'S HUMAN IT'S SO DEEP"
Mark didn't even think Dinosaurus was ever truly wrong. Even after a major terrorist act a few days later he'd be like "Well, TECHNICALLY Dinosaurus was right and humanity is stupid."
I didn't realize this was Invincible at first and was like "what's up with superman's eyes" forgetting that Invincible was asian XD
I'm sorry, this thing has 100 issues? I have only watched the show but it seems like the story HAS TO BE about Invincible vs Omni Man, and once Omni man is taken care of (killed, defeated non-lethally, or converted), the next thing that happens is a Viltrumite invasion and after that that's it, that's the story potential. Unless Invincible was meant to be the superman of a larger extended universe.

You might be surprised It's about family.
Unironically.
tl;dr version Nolan truly loves his family and is ultimately unable to go through with his people's demands of conquest, Mark loves his father and while he can't absolve him of the damage he caused he forgives him for what he did to him. Together they take on the Viltrum empire and eventually reform it. The long-arc of the Viltrumite story is that Nolan's (and later, the other surviving VIltrumite's) time on Earth and exposure to romantic and familial bonding after, ostensibly, spending 100,000+ years living as lonely, world-slaughtering b***h-hermits who execute their own offspring at the first sign of genetic weakness ultimately forces them to change and become more human.
tl;dr;tl;dr version Nolan's complicated, Mark loves his dad, and Earth dick/pussy is so good it tames homicidal space gods
"Lazy writing" implies that the writer wrote what they did to get out of a hole they had wrote themselves into. That was not the case, this was both completely out of nowhere and completely unnecessary. So this was more like fan service to the people imagining this as a self-insert power fantasy.
based giving his MC an immortal gf, but cringe making that gf atom eve
Pretty sure it's atom eve who's immortal solely because she can basically control her atoms
yeah but cringe making her the gf, mark deserved better
With whom, a nigress?
>nigress
not in the comics, but I think anon is talking about that viltrumite chick who "raped" him
I can’t tell if that’s better or worse.

Anissia was clearly white though?
Whites keep winning
Mark is Asian though
Nolan tells Mark that he’s virtually a full-blooded Viltrumite, he isn’t Asian
So...still not white.

Mark is half asian, half alien. 0 europe in that body, buddy.
WTF is happening on this page

I'm talking about the third panel
eve is sitting up in bed, held by her daughter in jeans who is sitting with her legs towards the headboard
Her torso is floating
No it isn't
yes, half of her body was not drawn.
You guys are legit morons. Look at the panel.
It's not drawn well I'll give you that, but for God's sake open your eyes before posting.
It's sloppy, maybe it wasn't his best day
Anon they're so used to redheads being blacked they saw the skin tone and thought it was a part of the (adoptive?) mother.
Stupid composition. You should feel bad about that.

Am I the only one concerned about the horrifying implications being literally unable to die has for a person in the long run?
Her powers come from a chip in her head, so long as she dosn't die, there's no reason she can't have it removed when the time comes.
She can die. Alt reality versions of her have died. We can assume she couldn't survive a quick succession of near deaths or perhaps a quick blow to the head.
>Am I the only one
People have written about the pitfalls of immortality for ages, anon. Don't be moronic.
She can change herself with her full power during those moments, couldn't she just make herself near-immortal when 'dying' from old age the first time?
Nothing there to say she hasn't.
honestly, kind of a rad immortality, you get to experience all aspects of life and then do it again.
No
Plot twist
Eve is gonna train her daughter to white out earth and disregard Mark who only loves a couple thousand years instead of forever
It was the final issue.
Everyone just wanted off.
Who is Everyone?
Where do they live?
Everywhere.
Damn
Wait a second they live in FRICKING CALIFORNIA
The comic felt like Millar wrote it on autopilot, like expecting Hollywood writers will fill the gaps.
I hated that this is the first animated adaptation of his work and he didn't use the original artist's artwork, I hope he at least got paid
Millar's entire writing style is being a pitch artist. Minimal effort to sell multiple properties to hollywood. It's smart really.
That's pretty much all of Mark Millar's comics
Well now I feel stupid not knowing that this was a comic book first.
That's all this modern comics. It's funny how much the show mogs the comic, it actually bothers to give the characters some sort of history and characterizations that aren't barebones.
Goddamn the theme song to this show slaps.
One of the few shows I never skipped, it's so goddamn catchy
is there any drawing of older Mark or adult Terra by Ryan Ottley himself or do we have to settle with Corey's renditions forever?
when the cartoon hits the final episode is the closest you'll get
but the cartoon is clearly going by Corey Walker's artstyle, in fact he's the lead character designer of the show
>somehoe Palpa- i mean atom eve returned
Oh god that art, who buys that.

Anything with Angstrom Levy is great, but the Dinosaurus arc is the third lowest point of the series after the abortion and the post-reboot timeskip.
I liked Dinosaurus. I think he's the perfect counter to all the show-only homosexuals who watch eceleb videos that say "MARK IS INVINCIBLE BECAUSE HE'S HUMAN IT'S SO DEEP"

This doesn't have to be in a fight. Changing his mind works too.

Steven universe moment. Literally every part of this is something that more or less happens in steven universe. Did becky read invincible!?
>and Earth dick/pussy is so good it tames homicidal space gods
lmao this unironically
Kregg turns into a fricking addict.
atom eve was so trash i hate read the last story arc
Just let Mark have a fricking win
Ha ha dad I get the chick that is immortal.
Take that.

Wow was he fricking serious with that?
She already discovered the Manhattan-mode ability, the lazy part was them not expecting this
The composition on the third panel gave me a ministroke, who the frick Drew that and thought it looked good??
