another example i want to name is
The Symbiote turning Peter Evil
while not exactly forgotten its a misconception that originated in TAS that even comic writers perpetuated in 616 canon
The TAS story is so ubiquitous that it's effectively supplanted the original story. The symbiote negatively effecting Peter's psychology instead of him going "ew it's moving" and kicking it off like he found a bug in his shoe is such a stronger story.
Marvel does retcons all the fucking time what are you talking about
Basically, the way Marvel handles retcons is >This story happened, except this character wasn't really that character
Vs how DC handles retcons: >This story might've happened, might've not, the characters were all different and much younger though, and some characters that were there in the printed story are now not, and the events happened differently >No we will not elaborate
Shit like the Vietnam war being changed, or everything related to the Spider-man marriage, is an exception.

No that’s pretty much exactly how it started.
Please tell me when and how Carol Danvers first gained her powers according to current canon
Generally speaking, Marvel doesn't go back and change things like that. I'm sure people will find examples to the contrary, but outside of things like changing events with sliding timescale they don't really change how an arc happened. This is because they still like to consider their backlog of decades as viable.
(yes, by all means every arc between the marriage and OMD is a mess thanks to that retcon)
Besides that, even if the symbiote made Peter more surly and aggressive...Peter in the 80's already was on the ins and outs with his supporting cast a lot anyway. Generally the adaptations streamline it so that Peter is with his iconic cast and screws things up. If Peter in the 80's was more of an asshole when he had the symbiote- it really wouldn't change THAT much.
The problem is many writers in the last 20 years are casuals that never bought or read comics.
And homosexual ass casuals like this think that’s acceptable

It's funny because back when the New 52 was announced, it brought out idiots going "at last, Batman got rid of his trunks" when he'd already worn trunkless suits, the 90s one and the Batman Inc one
The whole anti-trunks movement was started by WB for both batman and Superman. It goes back to uslan thinking they were dumb and continued into the post Nolan era where everything needed to be gritty and WB wanted Superman to appeal to Asians so they had Jim Lee redesign everything imagining he was Asian and not just some kid from California who happened to be Asian.
Thor getting the Hemsworth style haircut around the time when Ragnarok came out.
Late nu52 era Flash getting orange lenses on his costume and shit like that too, because the cw show had just started.
This color scheme was good tho. And at this point they just switched to synergy so it wasnt too bad yet. Honestly the only real complaint is that they keep the faceplate the same while swapping colors and body designs.
He usually leaves his dirt for someone else to clean. Usually it ends with "how the fuck do I clean this mess?!", like letting a retarded kid cook his shit in your kitchen.

Remember that brief period in the 90's when Batmans costume was all black and armored like the Burton/Schumacher films?
>Is he still wearing tacticool sort-of-armor now?
No, he's been wearing the grey jammies consistently since 2017 during King's run.
The black Next Batman wears a Pattinson type armored suit.
>He usually leaves his dirt for someone else to clean. Usually it ends with "how the fuck do I clean this mess?!", like letting a retarded kid cook his shit in your kitchen.
And it's mostly Ewing that fixes Bendis shit. He probably breathed a sigh of relief knowing he didn't have to do it this time.
I only remember this phase because there was a comic with art by Brian Stelfreeze that showed Batman and Catwoman thinking of each other at the same time, because the expressions and poses seemed very horny for western comic art.
I bought this out of the 50 cent bin when I was a kid and I completely forgot about it until I saw this thread.

i dont understand how the comics didnt just adapt that origin kind of how DC adapted the TAS origins of Mister Freeze as his defacto origin
Because Marvel has a continuity that doesnt cannibalise itself every ten years like dc does
>Because Marvel has a continuity that doesnt cannibalise itself every ten years like dc does
Yeah, they just do it every month

Being fair, the original era just had more intresting stuff going on than the suit made to tie for a toyline.
The problem is many writers in the last 20 years are casuals that never bought or read comics.

In fact I do and that's my favorite look for him.
All of NEW52 was preemptive synergy for the coming movies

I hope he kills himself one day.

Bane's coat was nice in the movie and nice in the comics and then it was dropped.
It just makes sense a guy from a Caribbean island who relocates to a northeastern city would need a furry coat.
The absolute worst era for Iron man armors was when everything was a variation of the movie armor
I'll take this as less "synergy" and more as Greg Land being Gred Land.
This color scheme was good tho. And at this point they just switched to synergy so it wasnt too bad yet. Honestly the only real complaint is that they keep the faceplate the same while swapping colors and body designs.
Two Face looking exactly the same as Aaron Eckhart in TDK with New52
Bruh.
Even the Arrowverse Black Adam was modeled after The Rock
Dwayne didn't bother wearing a wig and didn't put the cape on until the end. What a hack.
does the entire Inhumans push count as synergy?
Marvel sure was betting on them filling the void left by the X-men within the MCU
lel, this was a thing along with mcuwikpediafags
what do you mean?
this was extremely bullshit because it forced Jimmy Woo, Dum Dum Dugan, Clay Quartermain etc into a box
>Dum Dum Dugan
Isn't he a computer now
And Coulson was killed, became a servant of Mephisto, rewrote reality, and is now trapped in a demonic Cosmic Cube.
Remember when Bendis killed War Machine because he thought he died in the trailer for Civil War?
I wish i was joking
I appreciate that he brought him back at least. Most writers leave that for someone else to do.

Too bad he does his own damage, but yeah.
This page always cracks me up
The only good thing that came out of CWII was Immortal Hulk
It's not a direct link straight from one to the other it's
>Civil War 2
>Secret Empire
>Avengers: No Surrender
then
>Immortal Hulk
If you wanna call that good
That was only for 3 issues
The Troika suit, it didn't last long and got placed with a gray suit without the underwear which also didn't last long.
Which to be fair the Troika suit having no gap for the boots and gloves, is kinda ugly.

Thank God Josstice League killed Whedon's career
bump
Bump
The comic industry and the movie industry are super annoying.
