The government purposefully ignored Australia's warning about the fleet steaming towards Hawaii specifically to shift public opinion on entering "europe's war" which up 'til then was in the single digits. All it took was sacrificing the aging pacific fleet (WW1 leftovers, carriers strategically placed elsewhere) and 3000 sailors to get Americans to 90%+ support going to War overnight.
We didn't deserve Pearl Harbor our corrupt government let it happen in a cold calculated move to legitimize their desire to go to war.

I hate moralgays always trying to justify and rationalize everything terrible that happens, almost as a coping mechanism. Not everything needs to be shoehorned into an ethical framework.

It pretty much is a coping mechanism. I wouldn't even mind one myself. I was raised to believe bad deeds should be punished. The bomb didn't even change anything for Japan. All it means is that they're helpless to stop one plane from dropping one bomb instead of helpless to stop hundreds of planes from dropping thousands of firebombs.

Even with the Holocaust the Allies look like monsters. If you look at the number of people in India who died as a result of British engineered famines it averages out to a Holocaust EVERY YEAR. There's a reason people in India generally like Hitler: he was fighting against an empire which conducted routine genocides in India and which considered Indians subhuman.

half of the magic users in the world were cursed by 'satan' at the end of the war. They all went batshit fricking insane. At that time in the lore, a person who is quite strong in the power could easily tear down mountains, bring new ones up, raise land out of the ocean and generally obliterate anything they wanted. This is the big reason why the map of where the series takes place has 2 large mountain ranges that are entirely straight and unnatural. Also the reason why the largest mountain in the world stands alone in the middle of a plain.
The entire series takes place in the part pic related, another reason why the rest of the world map looks odd, because it was given little thought.

Pic related is a WIP btw pls no bulli

We could have a Tokyo-tier transit system in every major city for that cost. We could fix every single piece of aging and failing infrastructure. We could build a desalination system to solve the entire Southwest’s water crisis forever.

Not just one of those thing, by the way. We could have had all of that.

the world is literally upside down if you just change your perspective. An alien could cruise to Earth and see your map easily.

If you actually tip the word over like make the north the south and the south the north it would drastically change climate zones due to prevailing winds and the way the earth spins and tilts.

Areas that are deserts would become wet, wet areas would become deserts etc

tbqh of the settings I do recognize there I don't think a whole lot of them have crazy widespread magic. Earthsea probably has the most spellcasters, but they're not really "go around blasting people" types such as you might encounter in The Black Company or Malazan.

Anon, this is about what ancient hebrews believed. This is the model. It's a fact that this is what they believed. It has no bearing on what you or I believe. Your denial of it is not rational. You don't have to accept this model to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Stop being willfully ignorant.

i have argued with flatties, they have a christian belief at the center that cannot be educated.

Most human societies have envisioned the world as either a flat dome like that or an infinite plain.

Only the Greeks and other Europeans figured out it was a globe

Not even what people at the time thought. They thought it was a dome with water all around and rain was water leaking through the "roof"

Cute how they worked the underworld in, even though it's an european concept and has nothing to do with the bible.

It's a good thing Darklands is 100% fictional. I shutter at the thought of Poland being real.

Hunter x Hunter map is the most moronic shit ever and made me completely dislike the entire series retroactively. It's a normal map of the world but then they pretend that the world is actually but a small island surrounded by way more landmass and their earth is significantly larger than a normal world. It's literally a "one upper" series, Oh you think your world is big? Well mine is hundred thousand times bigger than yours. It's just pathetic.

      Toriko did it better.

      Normal world in the middle.
Another layer of continents all around.
      And THEN another layer around.

      The islands are much smaller.

This one was pretty stupid. I wish people would stop making fantasy worlds where it’s an island surrounded by a massive ocean.
