We had blockbusters.
t. zoomer
Not the same way you didnt
>our video renting was different than your video renting!
?
Yes, literally
not at all, they kept the same system for decades. Literally the only difference was the introduction of dvds
moron
I accept your concession
this
90s fricking sucked and blockbuster fetishism is fricking disgusting.
>blockbuster fetishism is fricking disgusting
This. Le Blockbuster fridays XD were fun maybe half the time, if you were lucky. I don't know what people thought the store was like, but it was incredibly limited copies of the most normie shit of the day, and if they didn't have what you wanted you were shit out of luck. I think if someone actually made the investment to bring them back, people would either remember why they died in the first place, or lie and say somehow they were better back in the day and the new version is doing it wrong.
The same people here who are looking at memories of blockbuster with rose tinted glasses are also highly the same people who sped its demise by Pirating movies and games throughout the 00s
Things boomers will never understand
>Hollywood videos
Who remembers renting games?
Movies where shit isn’t explained through dialogue and you have to internalize what’s happening on screen by yourself
nothing like renting a game over the weekend and liking it so much you keep it past the expiration date only to get yelled at by your parents after they have to pay at the store. good times
In college my friend kept a movie from another state college town and lost it. Parents were mad and got threatened with a letter to pay the fine or get arrested. Hollywood video soon went out of business so it was dropped kek.
>a bunch of white people dressed the same sitting around
Fricking creepy
I don’t care for NY but it does look comfy. Is this place still around today?
>glowing israeli money
Is anyone here actually old enough to know what it was like? If so what was it like
What gamestop and thinkgeek are now.
Hope and positivity. Emerging technologies. Improving industries. Computer gaming with massive leaps. Films with incredible new SFX. Everyone had good communication skills as nobody was raised on internet and mobile phones. Social media didn’t exists and meeting people took a bit more effort and planning. Talking to your best friend with the phone cord extended under your bedroom door so nobody knew you were doing it.
The modern bleak era is absolutely soulless compared to back then.
Imagine renting from israelitebuster and not an infinitely superior 'Mom & Pop' store.
renting videos/games was horrible. not paying for anything, simple as.
>Paying for movies
Can't relate
the blockbuster gen would have swapped the IRL rental shop in a single heartbeat for the "magic box with every film ever without leaving your home"
I miss women in leotards and high waisted thongs bros
It’s still here, even the dayglo but the women are fat dangerhairs now
Not allowed anymore. Natural bodied women is all you get and don’t complain if they’re not white you racist.
SOUL
Going to Blockbuster as a family, or while at a sleepover at a friends house are some of my fondest childhood memories.
Have zoomers ever enjoyed anything?
>Have zoomers ever enjoyed anything?
Staying rent free in millennials heads
>He says while posting a boomer
And?
exactly
Don’t have a cow, man.
>Spoiler fail
lmao
T.moron
Yes
>female
You will never be a woman. But yes it will look like coomer bait because it is coomer bait. Best you can do is make the backgrounds generic 90s colors and patterns so people can tell you are trying to pay homage to the era
Yeah I know there are no girls on the internet. Shocked women can draw pinups too aren’t you?
You will never be a woman
Neither will ypou
There’s no shame in being born a man.
>ITT: Things zoomers will never understand
Cinemaphile
the key, zoomers, is your bait and trolling should be at least moderately humorous
Cinemaphile is ran by zoomers now boomer, cope and move on
shouldnt you be on tiktok or something
why even use this old boomer board anyways
You'll grow up one day
>You'll grow up one day
says the homosexual who cant let go of the past
Whatever helps you sleep at night B
Romanticizing Blockbuster is just as weird as romanticizing something like say.... Whole Foods, Barnes and Nobles and Gamestop of today.
Weird consoomer shit. Had Blockbuster been in business for a few more years id guarantee half their floor space would be funko pops.
cope zoomie
>reeeee YOU Can't Criticize my nostalgia
You will never go back
People went to blockbuster to rent movies and video games for the weekend, then had fun childhood memories during that weekend that involved those movies/games. They're romanticizing their childhood.
>They're romanticizing their childhood.
So it's not blockbuster then, you can still watch movies and play video games without blockbuster on the weekends todays.... well obviously minus being a child
>So it's not blockbuster then
Yeah, why do you think these threads devolve into talking about toys, fast food places and other 90's shit? It's 25-35 year olds wanting to remember the good times and it's kino
>tfw you never had to endure just 4 terrestrial channels and some of the movies shown had all swear words (badly) dubbed over
Blockbuster had a good place in the world you ignoramus. Normal TV was dogshit before Sky improved things.
>swear words (badly) dubbed over
>just 4 terrestrial channels
>FX
Pick one
Bros
>Blockbusters
You must be a millennial
I used to rent VHS from old school privately owned rental places.
Bootlegs...porn...you name it,
Do men in their 40s do this today? Seems as though everyone is way too busy and communication is reduced to a few back and forths in a group chat
>born 1997
>went to Hollywood Video to rent movies for most of my childhood
I guess I'm on the old side of Zoomer but this post is a bit of a stretch
Was there a troony section in Blockbusters? Only troony films like that Hannibal Lecter one and the horror murder kids camp film.
I hope you die
We all die anon. Your “hope” is entirely redundant. Stupidity and hatred are ugly bedfellows.
I hope you succeed and prosper
Well I just self heemed myself and took an L in front of all my loved ones, church elders and some guy I’ve got a job interview with next week. Jokes on you, anon.
*enhances you're kino*
Images you can feel
>when it's filled with crushed ice instead of cubed
I hate zoomers but I love fricking their women.
too many tattoos for me
