Bashful and Sneezy - who cares, some unknowns
Jesus christ, I mean who cares about Snow White that much but this is just unbelievable
It's is the greatest animated film ever made, also perhaps the greatest fantasy film ever made. It also literally made disney.
I can appreciate it on a technical and cultural level but I just can't bring myself to care about it as much as the films that came out when I was growing up. Those were events, I saw them on the big screen, they were everywhere. I am not a nostalgic person but it's impossible to understand a piece of artwork that is outside of your time better than one that is in your time.
I get that, but on a technical level, it was literally the first ever full length animated film and it has never been surpassed, even by Japan. Not many people that are into film would argue against that. Have you ever actually watched it? You should at least once. Find a good HD version.
In my opinion, it also has a timeless story about good and evil, courage and the power of love overcoming evil. And I think it's those very themes that made it a target for destruction.
I did see it multiple times as a kid, but it was always one of those old ones my parents wanted to watch.
What did you like when you were a kid?
Toy Story was my shit, eventually Lion King when it came out. Mostly I just wanted to play Smash Bros and Pokemon all day.
We're about the same age. I loved Lion King. I never even actually watched Snow White until I was older, I was only aware of it. Just personally, when I see Lion King now, it's more about nostalgia, although it does have one of the better disney stories. It might sound dumb, but when I watch Snow White as an adult now I feel like I'm watching something special. Like when I watch Apocalypse Now or Empire Strikes Back, where lightening was caught in a bottle, if that makes sense.
To be honest, I haven't really watched any of the Disney movies as an adult, except Alice in Wonderland. With western movies, I have a hard time tuning out the cultural cues that it's a family or children's movie and appreciating it as it is, in a way I don't have when I watch something like Spirited Away.
One thing is, my parents loved old movies. Their parents had them late, and then they had me late. So since I watched a bunch of old stuff, when I watch shit like Snow White I get that same feeling as old Disney movies, but they were already hokey when I was a kid so it's just another layer to get over that keeps me from fully appreciating them.
I have rewatched the intro to Lion King multiple times though, it hits hard.
>hokey
I'd like to get into why Snow White (1937) is the opposite of hokey IMO, but it'd get me a ban as off topic.
>Their parents had them late, and then they had me late
That's something I've dealt with too. I hope you've found the positives in that and let go of the negatives (that's all one can do). I think of it as having innate access to a time machine. Lion King was peak 90s animation.
Oh I don't see it as a bad thing at all, I'm able to enjoy a wide range of culture because of my wide reaching roots. When I was much younger it felt bad that I was out of step with everyone else, but I'm grateful to not care much about what other people think.
>I'm grateful to not care much about what other people think
A strength and a curse. But more of a strength. There's that scene in Snow White where she gets freaked out by her present circumstances (haunted forest scene) and then gets her shit together by calling on her inner strength realizing it was all in her head ("all because I was afraid").
This scene
A few seconds after that scene ended, there was a transition
>it'd get me a ban as off topic
I doubt it. Please share if you can anon.
>Find a good HD version
I watched it as an adult awhile ago and I was shocked how good it still looks. It's hard to explain but if you ignore the history of animation and the fact that traditional 2d animation is dead it looks like it could have come out last year on a technical level.
It's an important and iconic film for animation as it was the real first full animated movie(get fricked argentina). But they relied heavily on rotoscoping with the exception of the dwarves.
>rotoscoping
That was balls to wall cutting edge shit in 1937, and it gave Snow White a soul that contrasted nicely with the dwarves and other fantasy aspects. It would have been easier and faster to had not used rotoscoping. Look at this shading.
Can't believe how hard Disney fricked Snow White's voice actress though.
"Off White and the Seven Pronouns"
Snow shite and they/them
>el goblina y los siete gringos
>el burrito grande y los siete hermanos
>el taco grande y los siete muchachos
>el carne misteria y los ocho hermanos Black
>ama de casa y los siete discord mods
>dirt brown and the seven redditors
>illegal brown and the seven drug mules
>shit brown and the seven landscapers
>snow shite and the seven antifa members
Peter Dinklage as Grumpy
Wawick Davis as Sneezy
Hasbulla as Doc
I forgot about Hasbulla. He would make an incredible Dopey.
The Twin Peaks dwarf can be Sneezy.
The midget from Seinfeld
And the black midget from little man.
>Kiernan Shipka
>washed up old roastie
Wait a second...
>we fix Snow White
Start by not casting annoying freaks that hate Snow White that also have back hair like a rug.
cute monke
Low key hot
Me anon as the prince, who gets to kiss snow white
Get rid of Zegler and Gadot:
Dylan O'Brien As Prince
>mirror mirror on the wall who's the fairest of them all.
>the jealous washed up old roastie who hates all other girls but Snow White in particular
Who is also quite lovely, good choices anon
I actually think Gal Gadot is a good choice for the evil queen.
Look mom I made another far-fetched mosaic again. That means Kiernan is now an old witch *giggles in his fat hand*
What drugs do you think she was strung out on?
all of them.
Her bf is pumping her with coke and anesthetics
Kiki gay is seething. I wouldn't be surprised if he's desperately reporting the thread.
Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella certainly have very flat/plain worlds when compared too Fantasia or Bambi. It's something that kinda bothers me when I rewatch them.
Cinderella was meant to be flat, it was meant to look like stained glass windows
There is only one good choice to play the evil queen.
She has to be at least one Disney princess....
~~*Disney*~~ would never allow it
Kenny as Rapunzel in the tangled remake would flip everything on its head, this NEEDS to happen
She looks so similar to Princess Aurora in that picture. Especially the fringe hairstyle
I can see McKenna as Rapunzel perhaps but not Snow White.
Come on bros, where is Tom Cruise as one of the dwarves?
That dwarf made the only movie worth going to the theatre for, aside from Northman, in the past 5+ years.
Cast Danny DeVito as Doc.
