Subjective. Better is a loaded word here. Giovanni has clearly had more serious roles where he could show off range and wasn't forced into the same typecast. Jack has had less respectable roles and a lot of roles for child audiences, but he's tried to do so to the best of his ability and has done it well, while also making a lot of money in the process. As for who I like the roles and acting range of more, Giovvani hands down, but I respect Jack.

Being forced to use Twitter recently has made me realize how much of this board is just reposts from Twitter. Even seemingly innocuous threads like these. God this site blows.

Those were reddit reposts. Now we get twitter reposts.

It's not a bad thing as long as people keep the gay-ass twitter screenshots out of here and don't just literally rip off opinions from twitter threads. That's just stealing a topic at that point. It's interesting to some people to see how different communities reply to the same topic.

      Anonymous

That's what happens when websites get big, they homogenize with other large social media platforms. Twitter takes From Cinemaphile too

      Anonymous

Yeah but if you call it out you get dogpiled on by people pointing out all the other trash threads, saying you must love them so it makes them dumping more trash ok. I doubt most of the posters on here actually saw the good days. I was here before bane, before greentext etc and it was full of good discussion, recommendations, charts of films to help people get into all different genres/directors. Worst we had was waifugays. Now it's just blue board /b/ and the posters are too new to even know the quality we once had on here, acting like it's always been the board to shitpost on. I only stick around for the small glimmers of quality still left, but if anyone has been on here as long as I have you can't deny the decline. All the political bullshit has really fricked up the website as a whole too. Still, Cinemaphile is probably the best board on here outside of boards catering to a more niche interest. Most people know this though so the board is constantly flooded with new morons, normies and spammers/bots.

No use complaining for the most part, but today's your lucky. Today I'm going to remind you to be the change you want to see. Start effortposting. Start really discussing with people. I do all the time, and slowly changes are happening on Cinemaphile. Effortpost to change the tide. Talk about the direction, or lighting, or acting, or the writing. Discuss interesting facts about the behind the scenes happenings. I believe in you, anon. Together we can change the board quality for the better.

          Anonymous

if one person tries to make better posts while hundreds just shitpost then ultimately the better post just gets ignored and archived. you guys are delusional. the only hope is people eventually get bored and move on to some other shitposting haven, which is unlikely to happen.

            Anonymous

Wrong. My effortposts get a lot of (You)s. Many (You)s. The best (You)s. I believe in the change because I can see it when it happens. I can see when shitposters realize I'm responding in good faith and respond back in kind. I can see when my discussion about a film informs new anons, and they become interested in watching and discussing the film I sparked their interest in. I know it works because it's always working for me. It's time to effortpost. It's been time to effortpost.

          Anonymous

It's like a drop of water in an ocean of piss, but I do appreciate you still putting effort into what most people see as a lost cause. A few general threads like /film/ have glimmers of old Cinemaphile, as well as certain niche threads that actually get replies rather than sail straight to page 10. I effortpost when I see a good thread, but I never have success making threads myself so I've given up on that. When I post a thread that actually get replies it's all derailing shitposts or people bringing in political bullshit discussions. I still hold out hope for this place however.

How the frick can someone force you to use twitter?

        Anonymous

        It's job related.

For better AND worse, the leakage goes both ways. Cinemaphile culture has essentially diffused to nearly every part of the Internet. While less potent (for it is like venom), its broad reach infects a greater population

The problem is the Cinemaphile culture diffusing out into the wider Internet is the worst it's ever been. People these days largely see Cinemaphile as a incel rightoid forum because that's the culture that has escaped. Not that I want the good culture to be seen by normies, though.

I just finished bulking to 210 for the first time in my life after hovering around 160-170 ever since high school. I feel a ton stronger but just too big. The fricked up thing is, I can completely understand how some people just get stuck like this. Once you get used to sucking down 3000 calories a day for a year or so, you body is perfectly happy to accept it as the normal load of food.

I need to cut immediately. I don't care if I never hit 500lb deadlift at this point.
